Thank you very much

Don't you need to be 4 or 5 days old to make a pagemove? I've moved Gene Fallaize. Greetings. Sebastian scha. (talk) 17:58, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest edit

I've gone though and looked at a variety of your edits after seeing inappropriate promotional information added to Bloody Mary (folklore) and noticed that all of your edits are focused on promoting an independent film company and the people involved. Most of your edits have been using nonexistent (personal bio info on people that came from no known source) or unsuitable (the person's own website, IMDB entries which can be edited by anyone) sources.

Before making any more edits here you should take time to acquaint yourself with our policies, most importantly our conflict of interest rules and reliable sources policy. I would strongly advise against using Wikipedia for promotional purposes, as that is strictly against its purpose (see WP:ENC/WP:NOT for what Wikipedia is supposed to be for and what it is not for). At this point it looks like perhaps you were just ignorant of how things should be done here, but if you continue like you have been doing it'll be a case of outright spamming. Accounts that exist solely to advertise themselves get banned and their articles deleted. DreamGuy (talk) 16:56, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I saw your note on Dream Guy's page.
You will realize of course your donor status gives you no special treatment, and it would have been very much wiser not to mention it. The company presumably gave money to Wikipedia because we are known to be a NPOV encyclopedia, free from advertising and self-publicity. As an administrator here, I was certainly inclined to respond to your statements by not just leaving the redirect stand, but also removing the article on the company as promotional, & blocking your account completely as being entirely promotional. What can you possibly have been thinking of? If we were the sort of place that was affected by such statements, why would you care whether you were listed? However, your statement that you would refrain from significant editing there except updating was helpful, and shows some proper sense of our purpose, & it is after all possible that the company is significant, though if that is challenged, it will be judged by the community in a WP:AFD discussion.
Normally the CEO of a a major company is significant; whether your company is major enough for that purpose is not all that obvious--usually we want a significant market presence, or size, or listing in a major stock exchange. I don't see that here. For a guide to situations like this, see our Business FAQ. Of course he may also be or become notable as a producer, or director, or writer -- when you think there is material sufficient to document his notability from major 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases or material derived from press releases), then show it to us on the talk page of the article on the company. Proposed deletion of Daniel Anscombe edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Daniel Anscombe, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

no real claim to notability, lacks independant sources, coi editing, most of the filmography is crystal ball

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
