Declining PRODs edit

Hey there. I noticed that in this edit that it seemed you had attempted to decline the proposed deletion, but you only removed a small part of the template. You can still decline the proposed deletion but you need to delete all the entire template, from the first {{ to the }} and give your reason in the edit summary.

I also fixed the links at the top of your talk page ("Leave it under Notices"), since they didn't go to the right link. I hope that was okay, but if not you can revert it. – Þjarkur (talk) 21:58, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Þjarkur: Thank you, I'm still new to wikipedia and I appreciate it. :) Goonsnick (talk) 07:58, 25 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Gus Johnson (comedian) edit

Hello, Goonsnick,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Kudpung and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Gus Johnson (comedian), for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criterion. The particular issue can be located in the notice, that is now-visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click Publish Changes button.

But, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the raised issues. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kudpung}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

@Kudpung: Why isn't he notable? He has over 800k subscribers and is very big on meme culture. He has a show on Comedy Central and has collaborated with people like Ian Heacox and James Allen McCune. Thank you for your time :) Goonsnick (talk) 18:52, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately the article needs to be provided with solid sources from the established media on a national scale. 800K on YouTube is nothing special nowadays. Notability is not inherited. Please see WP:RS, and WP:N - in particular WP:ENT. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:01, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Kudpung: Hello again :) I was wondering if I would be able to make a wikipedia page for Puzeh, Helmand. its a small village but it's very important and it for some reason doesn't have a wiki page. Is a small south western town in Afghanistan notable enough for Wikipedia. :)) thank you Goonsnick (talk) 06:07, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Human settlements are generally considered notable if the name is on an official map, and the geolocation is shown in the article.. That said, any other information about the place should be sourced. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:00, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Tobin Heath edit

Hi Goonsnick, I see the contradiction your talking about. Unfortunately, as a user from outside the US, ref 2 is unavailable for me to view. I've recovered the expired ref via an archive page but it has no mention of where she was born. If you are in the US, are you able to view ref 2 and see where it states she was born? Kosack (talk) 16:54, 30 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

The Team USA site [1], the NY Times [2] and the NY Post [3] all have her down as born in Morristown with her hometown as Basking Ridge. Perhaps it's the birthplace/hometown confusion that affected the article? Pinging the user who took this to GA @Iggy the Swan: to see if they have access to the infobox source (ref 2). Kosack (talk) 17:31, 30 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, we'll see if they can shed some more light on the issue. Kosack (talk) 17:46, 30 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I also had the same result as both of you (and others) when I saw your message. Thankfully, I have put in an archived version which is working from 2016 showing the birthplace so this would be verifiable for all readers. Morristown Medical Center can be seen in there.
