Here in Ontario we had a case where a woman applied for a library card for her young son, signing a form by which she agreed to accept responsibility for any fines he incurred. That card was stolen and used to borrow $160 (&320 English) worth of books that were never returned at all. She refused to pay for the booksand the library sued her for the money. The verdict was that she would have to pay the money, even though her son wasn't the actual book thief, because her son's name was on the stolen card and she'd agreed tdo so; her signature was on the card itself, and so she was held responsibility for the debt. This whole situation would've made for a perfect Fat Albert cartoon if production hadn't ceased at that time.Glammazon (talk) 18:13, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of The mikado edit

A tag has been placed on The mikado, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ukexpat (talk) 16:37, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Harliss Greer edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Harliss Greer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Harliss Greer. slakrtalk / 16:51, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of The mikado edit

A tag has been placed on The mikado, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Speedy deletion of Minder the Golem edit

A tag has been placed on Minder the Golem requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Speedy deletion of Pagsanjan Falls Stamp edit

A tag has been placed on Pagsanjan Falls Stamp requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 04:15, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The original deletion tag has been removed and there is no need for you to put a hangon tag into the page, besides which it does not work inside an infobox where you put it even if it was necessary. I have done an extensive rewrite of the article and it now looks quite good, though it could use some more sources for some of the statements. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 16:31, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Terrible tommy o'connor edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Terrible tommy o'connor, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unsourced, non-notable. A google search returns just 19 unique hits.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. roleplayer 02:16, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Shin Bia, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Crazy Girl Shin Bia edit

Just to let you know, we can't have links to scanlation sites on Wikipedia. Their legality is dubious, which is something that Wikipedia is sort of antsy about. They also don't qualify as reliable sources. I've left a longer reply on the talk page of the article. I see that you've continuously added this page, so I've got to warn you that it's likely this version of the page will be deleted as well if we can't find sources for the page. You might want to try userfying it (if it gets deleted again) until you can find good sources. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 10:23, 15 November 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79Reply

  • The only problem is that there were links to scanlation sites linked as well. IMHO the Baka Updates would be a decent link, but might not prove notability to some of the other editors. I found the publisher's site but I'm having a bit of trouble finding anything else because of the language barrier. There's only so much that Google translate can do since those translations are so... "unique". I'll keep looking, though. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 04:25, 16 November 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79Reply
  • I added the Baka-Update link to the bottom of the article. Hopefully we can find some good sources soon. It might be a good idea to post in some of the various manga and scanlation forums to see if any of the native Korean speakers can help us find links or more info about the articles. If I can manage to get around the foreign language pages I'm going to try to add ISBNS and publication dates for the individual volumes. The Double Ones edit

Those Double ones are indeed lower case Ls. You see, when l was a child, l had a little blue typewriter. When l went to start using that typewriter soon after, l discovered it had no number 1! When l informed my dad, he was exasperated and shouted: " "ANTHONY! Use the lower case ell!"

And l did just that until my typewriter jammed irreparably. I now use the same idea to save keystrokes when l can. Glammazon (talk) 19:24, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hunt Bowman edit

The article Hunt Bowman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Looks to be not notable, no reliable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Signing in articles edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Central Park jogger case . This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article? Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 16:02, 26 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
