World Magnetic Tour

Hi there. Can you please refrain from editing the tour dates section? As you can see, there are substantial breaks of two weeks or more in between some of the touring legs, which enable the band members to fly home to spend time with their respective families. Combining different legs together make the dates look consecutive, which is not the case. (Freak.scenery (talk) 21:44, 17 May 2010 (UTC))

The general precedent I follow is that if there is a gap of two weeks or more between dates, the leg is split up into different parts, since it is apparent that they are not part of the same "leg". Touring legs within the same continent may be consecutive, but the dates as a whole are not. The large gap between the second and third Latin American legs is a good example of this.

I think when the tour dates were presented like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=World_Magnetic_Tour&oldid=347699744, it was difficult to present the dates as different parts as it caused too many breaks in the script. Now, with the change in appearance I feel the listings flow better while making it easy to identify the longer breaks in the touring schedule. (Freak.scenery (talk) 12:12, 18 May 2010 (UTC))

But there's a gap of more than two weeks in between the parts of the Oceania leg, unlike the AC/DC schedule, which is why it is split into two. It would be confusing to make other breaks in the schedule apparent while leave this one as it is. (Freak.scenery (talk) 12:26, 19 May 2010 (UTC))

So you think that by splitting up the dates into two parts it somehow diminishes the triumphant leg from Metallica? I don't feel that's a valid reason to make the change. The band members actually leave the continent and return for the second part (leg) of Oceania dates. Yes, Metallica have implemented a very stop/start schedule to this tour; that's the reality of the situation.

Hmm... don't like the idea of putting months or years in headers as such info is already listed in the date column. By looking at the columns I think it will be apparent to the reader that the dates are divided into the "January leg" and "March leg" of 2010. (Freak.scenery (talk) 12:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC))

World Magnetic Tour

Hi. The reason that I edit the legs together is because they are the same continent. In my opinion, it is unnecessary to divide the dates up even more. On the band's website, they clearly announce each new visit to continents as a tour. So I am actually re-editing the dates as the band puts them. Please write back your thoughts on this. We should make an agreement that we both accept. (talk)

At least keep Australia and New Zealand as one whole. Becuase as you could see, I didn't write them as "legs", I just wrote "Australia and New Zealand". The ACDC page for the "Black Ice World Tour" shows what I mean.

I'm actually from Melbourne, and I've been waiting for Metallica to return for 6 years. I think that me, along with other people here, enjoy seeing a triumphant leg of long shows from Metallica. I was trying to enforce that, because it really is a long tour here from Metallica, at least thats what I think they're intending. So if it could be a long leg, not divided in two, it would make me feel a lot happier.

Foo Fighters tours and FooFightersLive.com

Hello, I would like to know why you have blatently copied all of the material from my website foofighterslive.com for the Foo Fighters tour pages you have created? It is clear you just copied everything since you have listed all of the shows I have (Many of which are not tour dates, but special appearances such as radio shows) and used the same venue titles. This may be public knowledge to an extent but you have still copied copyrighted content from my website without consent. Oh sure you got it from setlist.fm, that's why they were exactly the same as my pages, word for word, including mispelled venue names and spelling mistakes. The information on my site is copyrighted, it's not public domain information, it's personally researched information. I'm not copyrighting the performances themselves, but the information on them. If someone publishes a book on Foo Fighters the content is copyrighted even if other people might know it. Anyway it doesn't matter, Wikipedia agreed with me and removed the content. Because I want people to visit my website for the information, not a copied and pasted version of it on Wikipedia. Most Foo Fighters fans are aware of my website, and they know it's as factually correct as possible. Why do you need the exact same information on wikipedia, which many people know can be edited by anyone and could be wrong? You're obviously young so maybe when you're older you'll understand this better, you can't just rip someone elses hard work off. It's nothing to do with being selfish.
