Your request for rollback edit

Hi Flyingidiot. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY (TALK) 17:39, 21 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

FYI edit

I have added a speedy tag to the template {{Formatfootnotes}} you created. Debresser (talk) 22:09, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Flyingidiot. You have new messages at Rich Farmbrough's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

If you intend this template to be used only in article mainspace, consider changing <includeonly>[[Category:Articles needing footnote reformatting]]</includeonly> to {{DMCA|||Articles needing footnote reformatting}}. BTW, one might argue that the article needs "footnote formatting", without "re-". Debresser (talk) 23:11, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ah, yes. Of course. --(ƒî)» 23:13, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

disambiguation & stub edit

Hi Flyingidiot - good to see you doing some cleanup on articles, but one tiny note: disambiguation pages are never marked as stubs; stub templates are for articles only :) Grutness...wha? 22:08, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

IP Address edit

Hi, I noticed that the talk page for ip 68.9.226.101 (User talk:68.9.226.101) redirects to this page. I looked at the edit history for that page and it's a mess, but I see that you are involved and probably know what was going on. I was just curious if it's supposed to redirect here; if not, you might want to fix it. Some guy (talk) 21:32, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Template help edit

Hello... I see you are a wikipedian who understands parser functions. I am too, but I'm stumped. Maybe you can help.

Check out user:timneu22/test. The grid's last column is "wonderlic", unless the arm span/hand span variables are declared. If they are declared, those columns will appear.

This works, except when arm span/hand span are both blank, the "wonderlic" column appears to have carriage returns after it. I tried to circumvent this by adding "noinclude" tags to trap the carriage return, and this works when there are no arm/hand parameters but when there are parameters, it fails to parse correctly... it shows the actual markup |align=

So it seems I am stuck either way. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Timneu22 (talk) 11:30, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Big Thanks (also on my talk page). Your solution didn't work exactly, but it got me closer to it. Thank you Timneu22 (talk) 19:21, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wide signature code edit

Hi Flyingidiot. Could you add some spaces in the style="" parts of your user signature so it line wraps when in the edit window? It currently causes a horizontal scrollbar when editing talkpages with your signature on, in screen resolutions of 1024x768 or lower. No need to reply on my talkpage, I'll be watching this page.

Oh, and your signature is pretty cool. :))

Mmk. Thanks for the compliment.--(ƒî)» 23:43, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ah thanks, your signature is line wrapping nicely now. And sorry for "bossing you around" regarding the signature, since that is one of the most personal things here at Wikipedia.

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted edit

I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 19:51, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Drunkorexia edit

Hello Flyingidiot. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Drunkorexia, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this is not "incoherent text or gibberish with no meaningful content or history.". WP:CSD#G1 is only for things like "456jkhgf7@@8#$-+?5%" or "Yaaaayyyy LOL!!!!!!!" This isn't even something made up one day - Googleshows the term quite widely used, maybe enough to pass WP:NEO. Take it to AfD if you like but I think, though it needs sourcing, there is probably a valid article here. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:28, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

You've been around quite a while, I was poking around a list of people who recently made (or will soon make) their 1,000th edit to articles, and your username popped up. I figured it was high time your patrolling and other work here got some due recognition. Thanks, Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 22:10, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

How to cook salmon edit

How to cook salmon was not patent nonsense, while not the best written, and not within Wikipedia inclusion guidelines, it was not eligible under G1. I have nominated it via the proposed deletion method. Regards, --kelapstick(bainuu) 05:12, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cholermus was not eligible under no context, because you could understand what it was by reading the article, a Swedish food mentioned on the Big Bang Theory. Feel free to WP:PROD or WP:AFD it. --kelapstick(bainuu) 04:59, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Speedy deletion nomination of Cleanator edit

A tag has been placed on Cleanator requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 23.127.188.95 (talk) 03:42, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
