User space edit

Although it is good to ask for help, please ask for help in the appropriate areas. Avoid posting comments in sections pertaining to unrelated matters and please do not edit other user's user pages as the user may find this action impolite. If you need any help, place {{helpme}} on your talkpage and someone will help. If you would like the help of a specific user or to direct their attention to a certain matter, please address them on their talk page. More information about talk pages in general can be found here.

However, you did ask for help and I will give the little I know to you. To create a "header", as I called it, linking various pages in your user space, which you can learn about here, you need to know a bit of code. Not very much though, it can be easily learned through various websites. However, you may need some pages worth linking to first. I myself have several subpages acting as sandboxes. Learning how to create sandboxes isn't too hard. Basically you create a page at a destination somewhere in your user space. Let's take my User:Itzjustdrama/Box Of Sand as an example. I went to the article at User:Itzjustdrama/Box Of Sand, which was a red-link at the time, and created the page. In your case, you would create an article at User:Flamemonkey/NAMEOFSUBPAGE. Make sure to remember the User at the beginning. To create a header, like the one found on one of my subpages as you have seen, you need to insert the content of the header itself onto the page. Than you transclude, if that's the right word, it as if it were a template. For example, my header resides at User:Itzjustdrama/header. I transcluded the content onto my main user page by including {{User:Itzjustdrama/header}} where I wanted it to appear. You have already seen the result. Remember to place {{userpage}} on your userpage if you place any content on it.

Talk pages are even simpler than user pages and subpages. A talk page is where one receives messages pertaining to any matters any other user wants them to notice. It is the basic way of communicating with a user. When someone else edits your talk page, you will see an orange banner notifying you of it, as you have probably seen from this comment. You can place various headers on it. I currently have a {{Talkheader}} and {{Notice}} banners on mine. You can find many others at Category:User talk header templates. Various templates you can place on your main user page can be found at Category:User namespace templates. The category also provides some headers you can use, such as the {{Template:Userpagetop}}, and navigation bars and boxes, like the {{User:Gnorthup/Navbar}} created by User:Gnorthup and the {{User:Thepulse07/Navbox}} created by User:Thepulse07. However, created personalized headers and navigation boxes like mine take a bit of know-how in understanding tables and the various parameters.

Of course if you need any help, contact me at my talk page. You may also want to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies. The following is a handy box containing all the links you'll need to become familiar with editing on Wikipedia.
