Democratic-Republican Party edit
Hello Fearful. As a thoughtful contributor to the Democratic Party article, I invite you to weigh in on a suggested name change to the Democratic-Republican Party article. This party, the precursor to the modern Democratic Party, was called the "Republican Party" during its existence (1792-1820), and some want to change the name of this article to "Republican Party." In my opinion, however, this would just cause people to confuse the Democratic-Republican Party with the modern-day Republican Party. Moreover, history books for the past century have been calling the party the "Democratic-Republican Party" to distinguish it from the modern Republican Party. Griot 18:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

GFDL compliance and Theater Hopper edit
Hi. I'm not here to question the notability of the above, but unfortunately recreating it as a paste without attribution is problematic with regards to GFDL. Wikipedia's editors release their contributions under GFDL, which means that they allow it to be altered or reused, but they retain the rights to credit. The best thing to do in this case is probably to approach the deleting administrator, User:Bogdangiusca, with your concerns to request that he restore the article with the contribution history intact. If the other editor does not agree with your assessment of the notability, you might wish to bring the matter up at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Other editors may not agree with your assessment either, but WP:CSD#A7 is meant to be uncontroversial, and so at the least the notability may deserve review. I'd be happy to talk with you further about this, but we can't leave it unaddressed for long, as it does constitute (strangely enough) a copyright problem. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:05, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I recently became aware of the issue on comedian writer Joe Mande's page and want to help but I see the page protection has expired. If you resubmit it this week I will lend my support. I agree that something inappropriate is happening on the page. It clearly is getting negative information added to it that does not rise to the standard of notability. ArbCom 2018 election voter message edit
Hello, Fearfulsymmetry. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
