FYI, Kevin Conroy's remaining projects after Crisis were voice acting projects. I suggest looking through his filmography on his wiki page before you even think about reverting that user's edit again.72.184.230.35 (talk) 72.184.230.35 (talk) 00:10, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

Thanos DYK suggestions

I'm back to prepping the Thanos article for a new GAN and realized I forgot to submit a DYK when I originally expanded the article in like July. Now I'm not sure if it's best to wait for it to hopefully become a GA or if it's fine to submit a DYK now. I've never done one and I'm not sure what to submit as options other than the one I decided on months ago which was...

Did you know... that a brand new facial capture system called Masquerade was created by Digital Domain in order to create the look of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame?

There's a source for it in the article. I'm mostly here to see if you have any ideas of other choices or can I try nominating with just the one and see where it goes? Normally I'd use the talk page but it hasn't been the most active in the past. -- Zoo (talk) 02:04, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

ZooBlazer You'll need to submit the DYK now after it's passed its GAN. The hook seems fine, I would maybe just rearrange it to that Digital Domain created a brand new facial capture system called Masquerade in order to create the look of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame?. Whoever reviews it will let you know if they like it or not, but I think this is catchy for a DYK. Also take a look at WP:DYKCRIT if you haven't. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:05, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. The way you rewrote it does look better.
When it comes to who gets credit for adapting characters into the MCU, it seems like we give credit to the directors for the movies and the writers for TV series. I'm not sure if that's the rules or just what people have done in the past.
Thanos currently has Joss Whedon and Zak Penn as responsible for adapting Thanos. I'm not sure if that's in terms of just them being the writers for the first Avengers movie or if it's crediting both the director and writers. Hard to tell since Whedon is both. Thinking about it, should the Russo brothers and/or Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely be given credit as well since they're responsible for fully adapting Thanos (in a way), and not just a single scene? -- Zoo (talk) 18:37, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Hmm, I'd maybe put a {{efn}} stating that Whedon and Penn wrote Avengers where the character debuted, but that the Russos and Markus and McFeely were the ones to do the heavy lifting so to speak. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:40, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Since it's a list, do I just put the efn by Penn's name since he's listed after Whedon? -- Zoo (talk) 18:44, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Yeah. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:07, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Unless I'm doing something wrong, I can't use an efn within the infobox. I tried copying and using the efn that's already on the page as a template, but it just messes up the infobox. -- Zoo (talk) 19:28, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
It should look like this. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:14, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
Huh, that's what I thought I had. It works now so I must have had an extra space or something earlier that messed up the formatting. -- Zoo (talk) 05:03, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
How's this? Or should I word them differently? -- Zoo (talk) 05:17, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Seems alright to me. I made a minor tweak to Whedon/Penn's note. You could in theory combine it all into one note. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:18, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

I combined them. Thanks for your help. -- Zoo (talk) 17:22, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
I believe MCU character/element articles have always used screenwriters (not directors) for the |based_on= field, regardless of whether it originated in film or television. InfiniteNexus (talk) 17:56, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
So I should remove the Russo brothers? -- Zoo (talk) 23:32, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
Yep. InfiniteNexus (talk) 00:44, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Multiverse Saga actors

I've been working on an article for the Multiverse Saga actors similar to the page for the Infinity Saga actors to eventually start a draft since I assume we'll eventually need a page. Is the plan to keep the movie and TV series in separate tables, or should they be combined? -- Zoo (talk) 00:27, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I just saw what you started doing, and if you're going to put films and TV in the same table, you should probably have one table per year, given the sheer quantity of media released in 2021 and 2022. Seeing it done would be helpful if we ever have a discussion about putting them together instead of keeping them separate. —El Millo (talk) 00:50, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
So something like this?
== Phase Four ==
=== 2021 ===
Table of films and series
=== 2022 ===
Table of films and series
-- Zoo (talk) 01:01, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Exactly. —El Millo (talk) 03:22, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
I would keep film and TV actors separate, crossover between the two is already covered at the Phase articles and I think we should be careful about creating even more cast lists. - adamstom97 (talk) 00:18, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
I made a draft with them combined by year. Phase 4 only right now. Are you saying maybe have two separate drafts? One for movies and one for TV? I guess two separate pages would make things a little easier as we get farther into the saga. -- Zoo (talk) 04:18, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
I believe what adam means is that, since we already have the articles for the film cast (and within that the Infinity Saga), and the Marvel Studios series actors cast, we should stick to those, and add more Multiverse Saga cast to the film cast and MS actors articles, as not everything necessitates an article, right away or down the road, especially one that tries to navigate both film and TV actors into one long article, which the present articles can cover nicely. Trailblazer101 (talk) 04:48, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Mostly what I had in mind was keeping a draft or drafts synced with the Multiverse Saga tables and information because I assume it'll be the same situation as when the Infinity Saga actors were split off of the main actors page after the Saga was completed, and I think it'll be more than just a copy and paste, at least in terms of the written info. -- Zoo (talk) 05:23, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Note that the Infinity War actors list is just for the films, so I think any reasonable split of the film actors, again by saga disambiguation, should stick to that. A larger List of Marvel Cinematic Universe actors (The Multiverse Saga) can act as a diambiguation page pointing to the eventual film list and whatever gets done with the TV actors list. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:58, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Hit-Monkey

You keep reverting my edits without explanation. What gives man? CartoonnewsCP (talk) 19:25, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

@CartoonnewsCP: It is poorly worded and formatted. To start, WP:LEADCITE, a citation is not needed in the lead for the renewal, and wording it with the date at the end of the sentence is a better sentence construction. Finally, in the "Production" section, to start, 20th Television is no involved per any sourcing, only 20th Television Animation. Secondly, you use future tense wording when the production change as already occurred. Finally, the wording as it has been that you are changing is simply just more concise, while still be the most accurate as sourced by the reference. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:09, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
Hmm okay. I'm fine with your changes, except I think "In February 2023, Hulu renewed the series for a second season." sounds better than the current wording. It's used that way in various other TV series articles, plus the name of the series doesn't need to be said over and over again. That's just me though. Also, using the past tense to describe the second season doesn't sound right, as the series is barely entering production in season 2. CartoonnewsCP (talk) 19:52, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
Sure, that lead adjustment can be altered. Regarding tense, when possible, avoiding future tense is best as it then requires less maintenance of the article to adjust when it no longer is future. As written without it, it conveys the info accurately to the reader and doesn't need to be altered. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:14, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Deadpool 3

You reverted the filming start date and place that was credited to Hollywood North Buzz, which is fine, but what's not fine and hypocritical is that there's another article used on Deadpool 3, by you guessed it Hollywood North Buzz which was not removed mind you, but this one does ??? Your "SPS" claims makes no sense at all. -- KingArti (talk) 18:47, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

@KingArti: I wasn't aware that Hollywood North Buzz was used elsewhere in the draft. That should also be removed. Per that site's about page, it is just one woman running it with no editorial oversight, and thus is a WP:SPS which is an unreliable source. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:43, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I was the one who initially added the first Hollywood North Buzz article as it covered the contents from Production Weekly's issue (though I was able to verify that with my subscription at that time). I restored that ref that was used initially. As for the second HNB ref, it appears they got some info from PW on the 17 (the date of publication), though they updated it with the Pinewood and second unit info that I noticed was first reported on by Midgard Times as an "exclusive", and that site appears to be unreliable as it's gotten some things wrong before. Non-free use rationale poster updates

I've modified {{Non-free use rationale poster}} and added |tv_series= and |season= so the manual |Description= section isn't needed anymore for most cases (exceptions such as File:Inhumans IMAX poster.jpg). Star Wars articles' page moves

Hello, Favre1fan93,

When you are correcting for some recent Star Wars articles' page moves, please leave a redirect when you are moving an article back. Because of the size of this franchise and how long it has been around, there are a lot of redirects to these articles. If you don't leave a redirect when you correct a bad page move, it means that valid, existing redirects are broken and can get deleted by one of our bots. If you leave a redirect when you correct the page move, then these double redirects can be corrected so that they are once again pointing to the right target page. Also, if you leave a redirect, it is less likely that a regular editor can revert your page move since most editors can not move a page to one that is a redirect page.

Alternatively, you can check "What links here" before you move an article and correct the redirects yourself but it is simpler to let the bots handle the double redirects. It looks like there has been some recent disruption to articles in the Star Wars area and I hope this settles down soon. However, entertainment franchises like this one with devoted fans seem prone to disruption when editors have disagreements about page titles and other content-related matters. I hope these disputes can be talked out on talk pages. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 19:02, 8 March 2023 (UTC)

Claim that "mixed reception" or "mixed reviews" is frowned upon in lead?

Hi Favre1fan93, I'm wondering if you could point me to an RfC or other source of consensus supporting the claim that using the phrase "mixed reviews" or "mixed reception" is frowned upon in the leads of film articles. The current wording on Eternals (film) does not clearly indicate the valence of the reviews, and someone skimming the lead might see the words "It received praise" and erroneously conclude that it received positive reviews overall, which it did not. Just like "negative reviews" and "positive reviews," I see the phrase "mixed reviews" in film articles all the time, and an advanced search for it returned literally thousands of articles where it appears in the lead. In fact, several other Marvel articles have this exact wording in their lead. So I'm curious where you're getting this idea that it's "frowned upon" to use this kind of wording. -- Drevolt (talk) 02:29, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) We have had many discussions with different films about whether the response was "positive", "mixed-to-positive", "mixed", "mixed-to-negative", or "negative", generating unnecessary disputes that came down to subjectivities among editors, and it was decided (at least within the MCU taskforce and related articles) that simply using whatever label Metacritic had used was giving the website WP:UNDUEWEIGHT. It was then decided to simply state what had been praised and what had been criticized and let that show how the reception had geen. I do agree though with, in the case of Eternals having a 48% RT score, listing the criticized aspects before listing the praised aspects, as clearly a majority of critics disliked the film. —El Millo (talk) 21:45, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
That sounds like a pretty reasonable assessment to me! Thanks El Millo! -- Drevolt (talk) 03:59, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

Reprisal in Deadpool 3

Hello Favre, I noticed that you reverted my edits stating that Uggams and Soni are reprising their roles from first and second films. The main reason being: It is a franchise sequel so it is not needed.

May I ask when can reprisal be added? JEDIMASTER2008 (talk) 03:05, 3 April 2023 (UTC)

It would be helpful to note such reprisal for an actor or character who has not previously appeared in the franchise of films. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:16, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
Like if say Kang all of a sudden appears in Avengers 5. Then we say he reprises his role from the last appearance he made (for instance, Quantumania).
Also if a character say Phil Coulson appeared in Avengers 1 and all of a sudden he appears in Avengers 5, would we say he reprises or is that dropped since he was always part? JEDIMASTER2008 (talk) 07:29, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
Coulson has appeared in many films, not only The Avengers, he appeared most recently in Captain Marvel, so he's a recurring character. As for Kang, the film is called The Kang Dynasty, he's already confirmed to appear, so it wouldn't be all of a sudden. —El Millo (talk) 16:37, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
I meant for Reprisal, say Coulson appeared in Avengers 1 and then he appears in Avengers 5 (ignoring the films in between), would we say he reprises his role from Avengers 1 or we do not mention since he was always part of the Franchise?
BTW, How did you show green color for the last line? JEDIMASTER2008 (talk) 01:12, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Typically if a character has appeared across multiple MCU properties, we would just state they reprise their MCU role of [character name] rather than pick and choose what property to list. For actors who played a character in one property and reprise it in a separate one for the first time, we state the project they are returning from. As for the green text, it is from using this template: {{tq|Example text}}. Trailblazer101 (talk) 01:38, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Andor episode 1

Would Draft:Kassa (Andor) be ready for mainspace with more info under writing and some reviews? Or would I need to add other things? It's tougher to find info due to it being a three episode premiere. -- ZooBlazertalk 21:05, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

I personally would want to get more production or reception info before moving it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:56, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
Production info is harder to find than I thought. Most things are about about end of the season or the series in general. The reception is easier, but still a bit of a pain because of so many grouping the three episodes into one review. -- ZooBlazertalk 18:05, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
Yeah I get it. If that episode specifically got any recognition for any major awards that helps some, but I know the frustration. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:49, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
Do you think the production section is good enough now? I added to writing and filming. I still need to finish reception, but I planned to move the page to the mainspace after that, but didn't want any disputes if the production section was not good enough. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:06, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Schmigadoon

Hey, thanks for that link to the EW article. I'm all the way a musicals geek, in particular a Sondheim geek. I got goose bumps at the suggestion of Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin joining the shows. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 21:51, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

@Jpgordon: No problem! I enjoy the series myself, but it's not an article I can really take on to actively edit. So I saw that EW article and read through it and figured another active editor on that page could add info to the article because there was some good stuff in there that would make the Schmigadoon article better. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:54, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

Ahsoka executive producers

Not sure why you had removed Carrie Beck and Colin Wilson as executive producers... as I indicated in my initial edit, they are both listed as executive producers on the page for this series on The Futon Critic, which can be seen here. I have found at least two more sources also listing them as EPs, including The Walt Disney Company website and the UK Disney press site. As such, I have readded both as executive producers. Magitroopa (talk) 21:57, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

@Magitroopa: The WP:BURDEN is on the editor adding the info to source it in article, not through edit summaries. That's why it was initially reverted, and why I frankly should revert you again. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:49, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Thor

The source is properly formatted and appears as such when checking in the section at the bottom of the article. Then, had you made your work of research properly and read the interviews, you would have known from where Blanchett took her inspiration to create her character. You had devaluated the content of the sources when claiming Blanchett was inspired by "movements" whereas it is about the way she moves in space and commands the space when entering a room. Mistake from your part, we have to wp:STICKTOSOURCE. The quote of Blanchett explained that very well, it has to be kept; she also mentioned in the 2nd source that she chose that singer as a model because she had that 'energy'. Beware of wp:own, I have a low tolerance for users showing conceitness. Kempsir (talk) 01:20, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

@Kempsir: We also must be aware of over quotation, and my edits consolidated the information as presented to get the information across. The main point those references are providing to readers is who she was inspired by, Siouxsie Sioux, which I have done, adding in context around it. Nothing has been devaluated. As well, no, the sourcing was not properly formatted as the article uses list-defined references, not inline sourcing, so my edit adjusted to that. While talking about your edit as well, the part in reception was not needed, as we've already gotten Blanchett herself talking about the inspiration. Had we not, then yes the reviewer's observations would have possibly been warranted. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:51, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
I will add as well, "Finlandtoday.fi" is not a reliable source, so we can't use that at all. There is no indication in that article where the Blanchett material even came from, so at least from that we have no idea where the Blanchett quote even came from to try to find the original source, and a Google search did not produce any results. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:35, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

Not Marvel related, but can you shorten the name of File:Walking Tall Traveling Man sculpture.jpg? It's causing UI issues for me - causing the page to need to scroll as it spills outside the view. Gonnym (talk) 20:44, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

Thor Again

Siouxsie Sioux (real name Susan Ballion) was her performing name with Siouxsie and the Banshees, and initially with The Creatures. The latter releases referred to her as Siouxsie, and her solo career has been under the Siouxsie moniker. The neutral single name for this artist is and has been Siouxsie. It has been Siouxsie, and never Sioux alone. All the magazines only present her as Siouxsie on their front covers when promoting her, like the current issue of Uncut --> [1]. Inconsistent leads in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes

I was fixing and cleaning up some of the season 1 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode articles and noticed that the lead section is a bit inconsistent between articles. Here are two examples:

"'''0-8-4'''" is the second episode of the [[Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 1)|first season]] of the American television series ''[[Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.]]'' Based on the [[Marvel Comics]] organization [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]], it follows [[Phil Coulson]] and his team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents [...] It is set in the [[Marvel Cinematic Universe]] (MCU) and acknowledges [[List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films|the franchise's films]].
"'''Turn, Turn, Turn'''" is the seventeenth episode of the [[Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 1)|first season]] of the American television series ''[[Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.]]'', based on the [[Marvel Comics]] organization [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]] (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division), revolving around the character of [[Phil Coulson]] and his team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents [...] It is set in the [[Marvel Cinematic Universe]] (MCU), sharing continuity with the [[List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films|films of the franchise]].

Basically, the main differences are:

  • Based on the [[Marvel Comics]] organization [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]] vs , based on the [[Marvel Comics]] organization [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]] (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division)
    • Comma at the start and explaining the S.H.I.E.L.D. abbreviation.
  • it follows [[Phil Coulson]] vs revolving around the character of [[Phil Coulson]]
    • follows vs revolving around
  • It is set in the [[Marvel Cinematic Universe]] (MCU) and acknowledges [[List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films|the franchise's films]]. vs It is set in the [[Marvel Cinematic Universe]] (MCU), sharing continuity with the [[List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films|films of the franchise]].
    • set in vs sharing continuity with

What style should the episode leads use? Gonnym (talk) 09:18, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

I updated the wording on some of the articles a few years ago but did not get around to doing all of them, so that is why they are inconsistent. The version at "0-8-4" is better, it avoids repeating all of the intro details from the main article (i.e. removing the S.H.I.E.L.D. explanation) and uses the preferred "acknowledges" over "sharing continuity". If you wanted to update all articles to match that one then that would be very appreciated! Also note that the cinematographer and editor parameters do not need citation needed tags, they are supported by the episode credits just like the rest of the infobox details. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:14, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
Every other infobox detail (other than running time) is cited in the body of the article. Those two are not even mentioned nowhere in the article. I also disagree that they don't need citation even if they were mentioned in the body. Gonnym (talk) 23:38, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
But if those other details were not cited in the article body it would still be fine to have them in the infobox for the same reasoning I gave above. That has always been the case with television episode articles. - adamstom97 (talk) 08:57, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
So there are two issues here. Uncited information and information that only appears in the infobox.
  • Per MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE: the purpose of an infobox: to summarize (and not supplant) key facts that appear in the article
  • Per WP:V: All content must be verifiable.
Claiming an individual did some important work on an episode (and I use "important" since we have a parameter for it in the infobox) should always be verified and written in the body of the article. Just because a lot of articles ignore that, does not mean it is incorrect. Gonnym (talk) 09:16, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
@Gonnym and Adamstom.97: For the V part specifically, the episodes themselves, as a primary source, cover the information, so that would be verifiable in that respect. And as such, I don't see the issue with those roles being included in the infobox when they are known and can be check within the episode credits. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:56, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Black Widow Future section

Hey, just wondering after seeing your edit here whether it does make sense to have some sort of note about Thunderbolts in the Black Widow Future section considering the sources we have for an initial version of Thunderbolts being written by Pearson and focusing more on the Black Widow characters? - adamstom97 (talk) 00:37, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

I think if we include that info as well, that makes sense. It still doesn't feel great, but it is at least better than what it was, and puts it more in line with some of the D+ series and those continuations. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:52, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
I agree it could be a slippery slope, but I did think when we added the BW stuff to Thunderbolts that it felt like it might be worth a mention at Black Widow. - adamstom97 (talk) 02:04, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Agreed, if we frame it first I think with the "sequel" stuff first, then by noting who will be appearing as reprisals. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:08, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

File rename 2

Hello, Favre! I was wondering if you could please rename the File:Kraven the Hunter (film) poster.jpg to the adequate naming conventions? It would be much appreciated, and thank you in advance. Trailblazer101 (talk) 23:41, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

@Trailblazer101:   Done - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:18, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
Since there is a section already for renaming requests, can you rename File:Rip City Remix logo.svg to File:Rip City Remix logo.svg please? -- ZooBlazertalk 22:51, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
@ZooBlazer:   Done - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:10, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

Secret Invasion

Is it fine to start drafts for the first 2 episodes of the series since that's what critics were shown during the premiere tonight and I assune that those reviews will come out before the 21st. -- ZooBlazertalk 05:14, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

@ZooBlazer: Probably. I've been busy at the moment and haven't been on here of late, but I was seeing all the coverage from the launch event, so there's likely info in reviews that have released that could be used for the first two articles. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:55, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
I forget, how many articles do we need before the Secret Invasion template can be made? Currently we have 3 towards it. Episode 1, Captain Marvel, and Fury -- ZooBlazertalk 18:01, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Never mind. Just realized someone actually made the template an hour ago. -- ZooBlazertalk 18:04, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

IW/Endgame production article

Hey, Favre, I've cleaned up the production article a fair bit over the last few days and i personally think its rredy for a GAN. You're still technically the top contributor if you want to do it. If not, do you mind if I nominate it?

Or is there additional things needed still before a GAN? -- ZooBlazertalk 18:21, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

I'd probably want to give a good look over of it, but I know I won't really get to it in a timely manner, and I don't frankly have the desire to enter into a GAN with myself as nom, so you can do so when you want. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:23, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
Can you rename the image in the Infobox? It's currently File:Avengers 3 and 4 logos.jpg and I assume it should use the actual names of the movies. -- ZooBlazertalk 22:11, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
Yup, done. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:16, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

Black Widow DYK

Would you want to do a DYK for Black Widow in case Adam isn't around today since tou were a key contributor to the article/GAN? I think 0:00 UTC or soon after is the cutoff as it'll have been a week since the article got promoted to GA. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:23, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

New Section in Wakanda Forever Article

Good afternoon, I'm the user Special:Contributions/2A01:CB00:13FC:5600:4881:F155:6CA6:39DE. I just saw you deleted my modification to the "Wakanda Forever" article. You wrote "is it an actual controversy ?" Maybe the word "controversy" is not appropriate, but the subject deserves to be mentioned in the article, according to its French version. I just translated it and I quoted my sources. So I don't see the problem. Wiki4218 (talk) 15:41, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

@Wiki4218: are you aware of any English news sites covering this? While non-English citations are allowed per WP:NOENG, English ones are still preferred, if possible. Additionally, should those other sources exists, I think any material added back can be greatly reduced, and added to the bottom of the "Critical response" section. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:51, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Also, it is possible other language versions of the articles can have different material and formatting, and that doesn't necessarily need to be moved over to the English article if that should be the case. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:53, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
After some research, I found articles in english concerning this subject (I'm sorry I haven't made it earlier, I thought the sources could be I every language). I agree that it should be reduced to one paragraph and added to the "Critical Response" section. So I'm editing the article once again, following your recommandations. Wiki4218 (talk) 22:13, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Ok, great. As I said, sources can be non-English per WP:NOENG, but in this matter, since the film is an American/English film, it would be helpful to have English sources also discussing it to suggest it has greater notability than just a few "local" sources covering such. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:07, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Black Widow (2021 film)

On 18 September 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Black Widow (2021 film), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company alleging that the release strategy for Black Widow breached her contract? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Black Widow (2021 film). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Black Widow (2021 film)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Conflict of interest

Hey, i see you keep adding links to purchase marvel gear. Do you have a conflict of interest? Spam isn't a reliable source. Just here for the facts (talk) 01:35, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

@Just here for the facts: you are not reverting store links. They are Marvel.com links, perfectly acceptable. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:41, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
Links to marvels store. Did you see the link? Besides, marvel isn't independent of marvel. If this is important, a secondary source will cover it. We don't need to echo press releases and link to sales sites. Just here for the facts (talk) 02:51, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
Once again, no, you are vastly misinterpreting these links. They are Marvel.com articles that list the items as part of this program, which do provide links for readers to purchase said items through the article, but the links are not storefronts themselves. A big difference. No press releases are being echoed, merely noting that this program exists for these series in question. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:02, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
Everything at marvel.com is an advertisement for marvel. Do we have any scholarly works mentioning this stuff? If not, its probably undue fancruft, and not information needed to understand the subject of the article. Just here for the facts (talk) 05:22, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
None of the links, nor how they are used, are in violation of any Wikipedia policy or guideline. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:17, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
How I wish Favre would have a conflict of interest here and send us some gifts after all these years. Gonnym (talk) 16:26, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

Hey, if you have a chance can you rename File:Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury in The Avengers (2012 film).jpg? At the very least to spell SLJ's name correctly. ZooBlazer 05:19, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

Marvel TV discussions

Hey, I've missed the last while in the ongoing Marvel TV discussions. Has anything significant come from them that I have missed, or anything that you are concerned about? - adamstom97 (talk) 21:16, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Not to worry, Adam. Those discussions have been resolved via this topic ban. Trailblazer101 (talk) 21:31, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
I did see that, wasn't sure if that had put an end to everything but good to know that it has. Thanks Trail. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:33, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
@Adamstom.97: All good, yes as Trail noted, the user was topic banned, so things did fizzle a bit. I personally felt the I Am Groot discussion at least should just die off. In regards to AitF, I wanted to just check back since July all the edits done, see if anything on that page needs to adjusted back to what had been changed. And I think if we want to revisit after some time, I do think we should look at doing some of the changes I had proposed for the list of TV series article, mostly removing the transcluded table and looking at what information and wording we are using over there. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:33, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Oh and if you're getting back into things, at least in the immediate, we're having a discussion about Draft:Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline and how to adjust the diagram we're using if you'd like to weigh in. That discussion is at Draft talk:Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline#Mainspace. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:35, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

It was a double redirect when I edited What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?. Another editor changed it on fridging. Shuipzv3 (talk) 00:32, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

WikiProject Tuvalu

Hello, I have recently noticed that one of my edits of Wikipedia:WikiProject Television was reverted. As "TV" is one of the abbreviations of Tuvalu (on the official Wikipedia page for Tuvalu), I believe it would be appropriate to help editors who type in "WP:TV" and end up at WikiProject Television to be directed to WikiProject Tuvalu. Could you consider my suggestions? Thank you! 2003 LN6 (talk) 05:14, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

It seems quite the stretch for me for someone searching "WP:TV" to expect to end up at WikiProject Tuvalu. While we can't use Wikipedia as a guide or source, I don't see the prevalence of "TV" within that article to justify that redirect hat note at WP:TV. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:40, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

Commons

Hey, I noticed (after I nominated) that the image was uploaded by you. I don't think that it is ok for public domain usage and I think it fits more with how we use other images uploaded here. Gonnym (talk) 18:11, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

I always know it's a fine line, and I felt that the vast majority of it was under the threshold with the rest covered by trademark, not copyright. Happy to see how the nom plays out and if it's deleted I'll reupload here as a non-free file. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:15, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

Someone cut the image I added to your WandaVision nom. If it's up to you, make your choice (that one I put and this have both Wanda and Vision, but there are plenty of wordmarks that could fit too). igordebraga 22:40, 26 December 2023 (UTC)

@Igordebraga: I specifically did not chose or want an image with the nom, especially not an image of fans in cosplay. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:23, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
I understand. It's just that among promoted Topics, a very small amount have no picture. Hope you change your mind (just the title would be good enough) if it goes through. igordebraga 21:30, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
I would consider, perhaps the wordmark. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:36, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
