The Game's album sales

is their anywhere to get UP TO DATE ALBUM SALES from? and anyway if you check it it stats hes sold 904,358 and that isnt platnium under the RIAA cetification and he also says in lyrics of his songs hes got five platnium packs and hes a 5 times platnium artist, but in recent songs he claims to be 8 times platnium so someone needs to find accurate sales info for the doctors advocate and update picutres for the album covers and sales on no major albums and mixtapes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadowghosts (talkcontribs)

Info for 50 Cents new album: Curtis

http://missinfo.tv/index.php?paged=2 <thats the link to the video (scroll down to nearly half way and watch part 2, 7 minutes in he confirms a few tracks. They are

Ayo Technology ft Justin Timberlake

Follow My Lead ft Robin Thicke

All Of Me ft Mary J Blige

I'll Still Kill ft Akon

I hope this helps.

A Khan 22:58, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Yo, the song is going to be called 'Peep Show' not 'Pipe Show'. I have a snippet of it. Also i don't believe timbaland is featured on Ayo Technology, he just produces it. And finally, there are leaked snippets of All of me, i'll still kill, ayo technology, follow my lead and peepshow.

A Khan 23:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Ok cool i get it. its weird the site has it as pipe show but oh well. anyway i will let you know if i get any more info. cheers.

Your message

As you've probebly seen, I'm trying to do the same thing. The place to look is the Template:Infobox Album. For people, you need to follow the links from the WikiProjects page, to music, then musicians, then biography template (as far as I remember). --Mel Etitis (Talk) 14:52, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

BWS records (June 2007)

Hi, why did you removed the edits that i did to The Black Wall Street Records concerning the artists as i had references to prove they are there unlike all the other info on the article which is unsourced.--Shadyaftrmathgunit 12:11, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Appreciate the message and I understand what you are saying. Even though "AYO Technology" was leaked with various other snippets does not mean it is going to be on the album and then again it could be. But for now the only VALID source we have is Interscope Records and I don't think they would be incorrect. The track listing issued by Interscope is the newest and definitely the most reputable. I don't understand why people persist to provide fake track listings as it only gets reverted and is a complete waste of time. Anyways, appreciate the message again and appreciate you trying to help out. Keep up the good work and stay in touch!

Tagging of My Bitch

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on My Bitch. I do not think that My Bitch fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because "Not Notable" is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Try using {{prod}} or WP:AFD instead.. I request that you consider not re-tagging My Bitch for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 03:14, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

No problem. If I can be of help just let me know. You may well be right that this article should be deleted, it is just a matter of how. see WP:PROD and WP:AFD for deletion processes that would be appropriate for such an article. DES (talk) 20:47, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the Help

thanks for the advice, i didn't really know how to edit the page but i have some info if u wanna put it in for me, i think its good info on bishop. U can listen to the song klansmen on his recent mixtape Nigger Noise and listen to the song The Funeral 100 bars by the Game and watch this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8UBvv74MQg in which bishop and glasses malone talk about the Game's lyrics. Also I was wondering if you heard about the castor troy thing that i posted, if you could edit this article and then i'll check out how you did it. Thanks.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dgoc91 (talkcontribs)

Castor Troy

There is a rapper from Wisconsin called Castor Troy. In 2005 the KKK attempted to hang him and attack him so he started a movement against the KKK. He claims that Dre put out a bulletin on myspace asking people to add bishop lamont as their friend. Troy added bishop and claims that bishop stole events from his life as an idea for his mixtape nigger noise. Heres the link to the video of him talking about his beef with bishop: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=2014762724 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dgoc91 (talkcontribs)

It looks like your thread on WP:ANI is stale. Try asking User talk:Coredesat. He's a senior admin and an expert on WikiProjects and templates, so he may be able to help. Shalom Hello 14:55, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Your contributions violate WP:MOS

About your spaces around en dashes: I suggest you read the Wikipedia:Manual of Style and note that en dashes "normally do not have spaces around them". Also about diagonal lines in labels line: I use them instead of commas because that's how music videos write them (not sure if "write" is a suitable word here, I'm sorry for my poor English skills due to my nationality, I'm Russian). Thank you! Daniil Maslyuk 12:36, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

OK, I might be wrong about diagonal lines (but the first two Dr. Dre albums use them instead of commas), but I am 100% sure that spaces should not be used around en dashes, just read about them and come back, thanks. Daniil Maslyuk 12:41, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Probably? What ya mean? Read better please. A quote from WP:MOS: "An exception is when excluding them may cause confusion or odd look (e.g., 12 June – 3 July; contrast 12 June–3 July)." 2004–2007 is certainly not odd-looking format. And yes, I meant slash. Again, I apologize for my English. Daniil Maslyuk 12:49, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
The second example uses spaces because without them it would look odd (read WP:MOS), see yourself, it'd look August 1967–October 1967. That's the very case of an odd look that is described in en dash usage guidelines. Let me know if you don't agree even now and I'll ask someone else to explain that to you. Thank you. Daniil Maslyuk 12:58, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm a bit confused: does your latest message mean that you give up arguing with me or ya agree with me? Ta. Daniil Maslyuk 13:03, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I guess ya can give up arguing with me and still think you're right or agree with me and agree that you were wrong. Daniil Maslyuk 13:11, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Ah fine, thanks anyway for letting me know that slashes shouldn't be used in labels line. Daniil Maslyuk 13:15, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, job's done. Daniil Maslyuk 13:28, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, yeah sorry about it, I did it for kicks with some friends, just to see how long it would take to get it removed. However, "Pop rap" should stay simply because of the elements of pop used in his music, as well as it being cited in Pop rap's wiki. I feel like that should stay. bsilver 04:14, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Curtis (50 Cent album) (July 2007)

Hi Efil, just want to leave a minor note and say you're doing a great job in keeping the integrity on that page. Looking at the history, I see heaps of people who don't know the first thing about WP:CITE and it's good to see someone maintaining a good standard on the article. Apparently, it's the 69th most viewed article on Wikipedia with about 2000 views a day. Spellcast 11:22, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

A quick question. Which of these two images do you think is better for the 50 Cent infobox: Image:50-cent.jpg or Image:50 cent retouched.png? I just want to get some consensus to avoid a silly edit war. If you can reply at Talk:50 Cent, that'd be great. Cheers. Spellcast 09:15, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Help

{{helpme}} Is Image:igetmoneyvid.gif allowed to be used in the I Get Money article to show what an artist looks like in a video, or is it against fair use rules? --- Realest4Life 18:42, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

I am not the one that wants to use it, it is someone else, see here for that user's version. --- Realest4Life 18:45, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Now the user is using Image:50centigetmoneyvid.jpg instead. --- Realest4Life 18:51, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
The image will probably get deleted because 1.) No copyright tag is provided 2.)No Fair use guideline is provided 3.) Not used in any article. Miranda 20:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I am talking about the second one though, but I guess that one will be deleted also. However, can you please tell me, so that I know, are they allowed if they will not be deleted? --- Realest4Life 20:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
If the image is significant to the article, yes. If it is not, no. See this for more clarification. Cheers! Miranda 20:34, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. --- Realest4Life 20:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

No worries. If you encounter any more trolls while editing, feel free to inform me. Cheers. Spellcast 02:13, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Just with these mixtapes: 50's Back(Say Somethin Bitch) and Fully Loaded (mixtape), were they officially released by 50 himself? If it's just some random DJ with no affiliation, I'll probably afd it. It looks the creator of the article even wants it deleted since he's tagged it for notability issues. Spellcast 17:48, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

You also said there was a similar issue with some Eminem bootlegs. Was there an afd for it? Spellcast 23:50, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Umm, you mean this: Straight from the Lab? Spellcast 00:05, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Anyway, just with those 50 mixtapes, are you sure they weren't actually made by him? Is the track listing new? If not, then it should probably be deleted like those Eminem ones. Spellcast 00:12, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Immortal Technique discography

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Immortal Technique discography, by 77.183.228.214 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Immortal Technique discography fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

everything is already in the main article for Immortal Technique, hence this one is pointless

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Immortal Technique discography, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:26, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Your question

I'm not totally sure I understand your question; it's not stupid, I'm not sure I can answer all of it. I'll answer it, and if I haven't given a satisfactory answer, please tell me where I go wrong:

With the "with news updates", that doesn't sound like promotion; it might just be an incorrect (or deliberately disruptive) description of the external link. I haven't been to the link so I can't say too much at the moment.

With external links, I don't believe they have to be called exactly what the website is called. They have to be descriptive, of course, to give an idea what the page links to. As for "Complete discography of Immortal Technique", that does sound more explanatory than "Immortal Technique Discography Site".

Again, if I didn't answer this the way you wanted, please tell me. Thanks for telling my about AN/I too. Acalamari 01:47, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I won't need to block all the socks for you; another administrator has already done that, so that's solved. :) I see what you mean with the "with news updates" sounding like advertising. It's not necessary for it to be called "with news updates": I suggest changing it to a more neutral name, or remove the link if it's an advertising link. Acalamari 02:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Your current version is correct, though the fan site should be removed. Acalamari 03:16, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • I've blocked the new account indefinitely; it's a sock, but the name violated policy {it looked like a random sequence of numbers and letters), and the account's edits were all disruptive and/or uncivil. Acalamari 15:26, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • I've blocked account-creation but that's only temporary; it wears off. With his IPs, they can only be blocked temporarily as well, so if his IPs come back, you'll have to revert them, and they'll be blocked accordingly. As for the external links, whatever you do, don't tell any user that you have the external links the way they are because "an administrator said so"; you should keep the links titles that way it's policy. Yes, I believe categories should be in alphabetical order. Acalamari 15:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Probably yes, but at the moment, he shouldn't be able to edit the page, at least not for four days, as the page is semi-protected, and he won't be able to create any account for the time being as account-creation is blocked currently for him. He should give up soon, if not, he will just get blocked again. Simple as that. Acalamari 15:46, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Hoplcn was blocked by Stephen, so when Hoplcn comes off his block and if he starts being disruptive again, you should inform Stephen. I've only blocked one account, and it was an indefinite block, so the account I blocked won't be editing again. Stephen has mostly been the blocking admin here of the socks (EVula blocked one, but the user he blocked was a vandal), so at a later date, if the socks he blocked are disruptive again, discuss this with Stephen. Acalamari 16:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • You're welcome, but I do have a suggestion though; if one of his socks comes back, and starts a discussion on the talk page, instead of reverting his edit, I suggest you try to talk to him. That way, you might be able to get him to explain why he's reverting yours and Spellcast's edits. Talking may help more in the long run too, and might convince him not to create more sockpuppets in the future. If he talks, let him; it'll save revert-warring. Acalamari 16:31, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Fair enough; personal attacks, trolling, and off-topic postings on talk pages should be removed. Sorry about that. Acalamari 16:40, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Yes, I would like you to join because I think that you would be able to improve a lot of the articles. Also, I agree that some of artists dont need to be in the G-Unit category, This would be one of the tasks for the project. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 19:50, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

The vandal

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner; I've been somewhat busy in real life. Anyway, I've blocked the IP for 48 hours for incivility and vandalism. As for "his" website, if he was the user who added the link in the first place, I say remove it, but if it was already there before he started vandalizing and revert-warring, leave it. As for the other account, just keep an eye on it. It's against policy to do pre-emptive blocks. Acalamari 22:08, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Blocked for two weeks. Acalamari 20:25, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
  • If it's unsourced, remove it; but if it has a source or two, it should be fine. Acalamari 03:04, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
    • The MySpace should go in the "External links" section, and it has to be the official MySpace and not a fake one. That's my understanding of the MySpace links anyway, unless it's changed. Acalamari 15:36, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Only if that text is sourced. If it isn't you can either tag it with {{Fact|date=July 2007}}, or remove it outright. Acalamari 15:53, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
        • No, you need an independent source; we're not supposed to source something with itself. I say remove that text until a source from (or if) another site can be found. Acalamari 16:04, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: La Coka Nostra

I'm not exactly sure how I can format that. There's like really little info, not even dates. Those mixtapes and songs in them could be formatted just like another album (like in the 50 Cent/Game) discography. Spellcast 02:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Shady Records history

I would like to start by saying could you please not just delete a chunk of typed up work. Also, I'm in the process of adding citations, so there is no need to delete that last paragraph. At least do that 'Citation needed' thing, that moderators do. I would like to further add that I've written the entire history of Shady Records which has been on that wikipage for a long time now, so you can consider me reliable on knowing the history well enough, and the fact that I'm not about to leave it hanging. Lastly, I fail to see how that paragraph is 'unexplained' when it explains the history. Please elaborate. Harish101 03:51, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey man, I read and thought about what you said, and you're right - adding bits like Eminem and 50's impending albums is not relevant and I should have written it like the rest of the article. I like what you did to edit it appropriately, though I did just a minor edit of rewording the last line. Hope that's cool. -> Harish101 18:11, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
y0, quick question. I was curious to know why the Ca$his link was taken off. I assumed that the first mention of most things on any wikipage got linked..? Just wondering. => Harish101 19:02, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Nah, I mean like you have other artists with their names highlighted in the article that are also in the table. But I was aiming more at when things get hot linked, isn't it usually the first time they get mentioned on the page itself? Seeing as you're a wikimod (or whatever the correct term is) I thought I'd ask. => Harish101 19:38, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Ohhh wait, my bad. I read it again and realised what you meant. I thought you were referring to the table. => Harish101 19:40, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Ah right, sorry for the confusion of the Wiki title. You seem to be doing a great job keeping things in line, so stay up. Thanks for the offer of help, I'll probably get back at you on that in the future. P.S. Saw your most anticipated choice of albums, had to add that I also can't wait for Bishop's new album. Good to see others think the same. Peace. => Harish101 19:59, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeh, I see. But I suppose that it wouldnt really matter if they were in italics anyway. --The-G-Unit-Boss 15:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: "To-do list"

I think the list is great. This is setting a much better standard than most other album articles. If you want to change the list or add any more, you can always do it yourself. As for the troll warning? I don't think it's necessary as there doesn't seem to be that much trolling on the talk page. Spellcast 04:06, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

{{reflist|2}} makes the font smaller and lists it in 2 columns. <references/> simply lists it the way you see it with a bigger font size. The 2 column format is generally used when the refs get extensive. If you really want to see what the difference looks like, you won't be able to see it with Internet Explorer, so you'll have to get Mozilla Firefox. Spellcast 21:14, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

There's no firm rules on which one to use. But you'll find that articles with a lot of refs tend to use {{reflist|2}}. Spellcast 21:22, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Personally, I prefer {{reflist|2}} because it takes up less space. By the way, {{reflist}} is slightly different to <references/> (they both list it in one column except the latter uses a bigger font). You know what, I think it'd be good if you were to see the difference yourself. Spellcast 21:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Yep, you're right about the banner. Template:WikiProjectBannerShell says to use the shells if it's part of 3 or more Wikiprojects. Spellcast 21:37, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

I think pretty much all articles with that many refs use reflist2, so we might as well. Spellcast 21:42, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok firstly, Shadyville Entertainment and Money Management Group are not record labels (which is what the current version of G-Unit Records seems to show). I see with your version that you kept the article solely related to the artists on the imprint (G-Unit Records) without mentioning all these affiliated ones signed to the distributing labels. Are you saying that we should basically get rid of the headings such as "Infamous Records" and "Ca$hville Records" and keep it solely about the artists signed to G-Unit Records? It seems like a lot of those headings can under a subheading titled "Record labels distributed by G-Unit". Spellcast 22:09, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree that the unreleased albums should be in a list. I haven't even heard of Chad Beats or Joffy 170, so these guys can probably go. I think your format was a lot better in keeping it solely about the artists signed to G-Unit. I'm looking through the article and I see all these red link labels and red link musicians, so I think they can definitely go. Anyway, we'll sort this out some time in the future. Have you tried talking to G-Unit Boss about this? Or does it just simply result in a revert cycle? Spellcast 22:38, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

I read your post Shadyaftrmathgunit's page and I can see where you're coming from. Record labels aren't my forte, but you definitely know what you're talking about and the headings on G-Unit Records is misleading. It should be changed to your version. Also, I noticed that this G-Unit Wikiproject has started and that there has been suggestion to create some of the redlinks on WP:G-UNIT. Almost all those articles were deleted because of notability issues so I don't think creating them again is necessary. And thanks for the recognition of the 50 Cent related articles. After you write a full bio of someone, you end up knowing a lot more information than you intended to, and "In da Club" and "Candy Shop" was like a side effect of all the info gained from 50 Cent. One of the main things I want to focus on is getting Doctor's Advocate to a GA (I've listened to that album so much that I'm like sick of it now). Spellcast 03:45, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

I like it!

I think that's a pretty cool idea! I'll have to add me name! JpGrB 02:04, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, I like everything you said about not putting them in, but I do have one slight problem. I do believe they are affiliated with, and possibly noted for that, but as far as being listed as part of the "Family", I agree they shouldn't be listed. JpGrB 02:11, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I like that idea, but I just meant about main affiliates, such as people who normally always help with albums by them (group or solo), such as: Dr. Dre, Eminem, DJ Whoo Kid, etc., but as you said this might be POV, so I'm not sure. I think we should cross that road when we all come to it! But I do agree with having the "sub-levels" listed within each persons article.

(Oh, P.S.-Do you have any instant messengers? Because if so, tell me, and we can talk on there! If not, I understand.) JpGrB 02:23, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I deleted it, and added you, I believe both might have a 90 on my name, but it is me! Also, I agree with your suggestions of a system to decide who should be considered a surefire "affiliate", I only suggested them because they are producers on almost all, and thing like that, you know? I Understand. But im saying that out wikiproject can also help to improve the artists under thise labels as well. Im not disagreeing with you. --The-G-Unit-Boss 13:09, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for pointing that out to me. I was adding the template to all relevant articles to this project but forgot to remove 'blp=yes|' from the shell. G-Unit Records & WikiProject

Ok ok. First, I am not trying to argue with you, just trying to gain a better understanding of the labels. How do we know that G-Unit Records cannot distribute albums, and other labels? because Aftermath Entertainment can distribute them and that is also a subsidary of Interscope Records as is G-Unit Records. Also, I understand that you are saying; we cannot manage all of the affiliates to G-Unit Records. Howver. If these labels (Ca$hville Records etc etc) do turn out to be distributed by G-Unit Records then all of their artists can be included within our project too. What we really need is verification of the capabilities of G-Unit Records (i.e if it can distribute other labels and their artists albums etc). Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 15:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
(By the way sorry for my overuse of G-Unit Records in this reply)

For now I think that we should include all artists signed to G-Unit Records as well as their 'subsidaries'(Cashville, Dumout etc, I understand about them being imprints) but they could be distributed by G-Unit Records.

Hopefully when the G-Unit Records website is complete then we will have verification as to whether these subsidary labels are distributed by G-Unit Records. If they are then that would mean that the G-Unit Records artists', not the subsidary artists' albums would be distributed by G-Unit Records and interscope. For example 50 Cent. Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo (and all of the people listed in the top section of the G-Unit Records article) are signed to Interscope but if G-Unit was able to distribute then their albums would be distributed by both companies

Our wikiproject cannot govern affiliates can it? e.g Dr. Dre & Eminem because they are affiliated. I thought that they could not be included within our project?. Also with the list of pages to be created I have put them there so that if we work together on them they would be of a good enough quality to be kept. I know that for the non-notable artists that their pages should not be created or re-created. but for example Shadyville Entertainment was deleted for copyright issues not notability issues. Also I really dont want to seem like the 'boss' of the Wikiproject, but would like to help oorganize. I can understand that it may have seemed that I was trying to take control.

Hope this clears thing up --The-G-Unit-Boss 16:54, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I didnt know you was talking about the G-Unit Records article itself. I agree we maybe shouldnt list them and all of the artists under them in the article. We should create another sandbox specifically for the G-Unit Records article within out project pages and edit it there. Once we are happy with it we can transfer it to the proper article. that would avoid any reverts etc that may occur because of suden changes.
In my second paragraph I was talking about the project. I meant that once the website is completed we can see if the artists signed to Cashville records, Dumout records etc are also signed to G-Unit Records. if they are then thise artists can also be included within our wikiproject.

Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 17:11, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: Doctor's Advocate

Yes, thanks for keeping DA on your watchlist. If expanding articles isn't really your thing, that's ok. You can probably make sure there's no uncited info added to it like you do with Curtis. But Doctor's Advocate is in a very stable condition, so there's not too many edits going on there. Spellcast 00:18, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah of course it's ok! If you want to expand articles, what I would recommend is looking over existing GA/FAs and basing your edits on them. In this case, it's an album, so I'm partly basing my edits off articles like Love. Angel. Music. Baby., Rock Steady (album), Illmatic, and Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Sophomore --> Second

Sophomore is certainly an Americanism and WP:MUSTARD was recently changed to accept it despite opposition and a lengthy discussion on the Administrator's noticeboard. While some might try to claim that it's "music industry jargon" it's not something that we need to use as we have a perfectly acceptable (more common and more easily understood) alternative. I understand your confusion about this - it's all down to a couple of American editors that think they can create a policy to support their view. violet/riga (t) 18:08, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

article on 50

hey realist. i no u basically run the curtis album page (cause ur so dam good at this stuff) so i wanted to send u an article i found on 50s new album and swizz beatz producing. here it is.

GUnitWorld.com: 50 Cent And Swizz Beatz Overcame Camp Beefs — And Made 'Fire' Producer-turned-mediator Swizzy says he also smoothed relations between Cassidy and 50: 'Men handle their problems and move on.'

By Shaheem Reid

Swizz Beatz is on the road promoting his August 21 release, One Man Band Man, but he recently took a break to knock out a few songs with 50 Cent. Fif has been retooling his Curtis LP as of late, and Swizz boasts that Fif is in a great place.

"Fire!" the producer said last week, emphasizing that the track is red-hot. "N---as is in trouble!"

Fans may be surprised that 50 and Swizz have become cool, especially since their two camps haven't seen eye to eye for a couple of years now. 50 and Cassidy had some words for each other through the press, and who could forget the faux-50 exotic dancer in Cass' "B-Boy Stance" video? This boiled into Tony Yayo reportedly having a heated verbal confrontation with Swizz on the set of Busta Rhymes' "Touch It" remix video. Recently, Cassidy did a freestyle over 50's "I Get Money" beat and basically said 50 was biting off him. With all the rancor going on, Swizz says going in the studio with 50 and Yayo wasn't the most ideal situation initially.

"First, it was a little tension," Swizz said. "It was the first time I seen Yayo . I didn't know what to expect. I went in there with two people with me. ... But it ended up being a positive vibe. The first beat I put on, immediately it was a smasher. We wound up doing, like, five joints."

Swizz said hot music prevailed over egos. " shouting my name in the song in the verse," the Monster described. "It feels genuine. I really think 50 is a cool n---a. Everybody's got their problems, I even had my problems. But as men, men handle their problems and move on. People don't know how to handle their problems, so they have senseless beef. Or even beef that's not senseless, but they don't know how to handle it."

Even Tony Yayo was acting friendly. "Within five minutes of me walking in the door, came up and apologized and it felt genuine," Swizz said. "It's like in the Koran, asking for forgiveness. ... He apologizes and it feels honest, let it fly. If you not gonna let it fly, we might as well get it poppin' right now."

Swizzy also talked about Cassidy's recent statements over his beef with the G-Unit. "I'm a f---in' G. I told 50 what Cassidy said," Beatz admitted. "50 was like, 'Yo, he's being competitive. It ain't no problem.' I let Cassidy know the conversation we had — you ain't gonna hear Cassidy saying nothing about 50 no more. Just like you ain't never gonna hear Yayo probably ever say nothing about me. It is what it is. I stepped to 50 by myself the first time I seen him like, 'Is it a problem?' It was no problem; he played me his whole album.

"I can't let everybody hype me up and get in that fake rap beef," he added. "My life is real. My sh-- is very, very real. If I got a problem with somebody, it's very real. ... If it's nothing to talk about, let it fly."

So how does one of the most loved people in the rap game feel about being affiliated with a guy who, let's just say, isn't the master of making friends?

"I can't get involved with these n---as' emotions," Swizz rationalized. "A lot of people are going to get mad at me for working with . But how you mad at me for working with him? I can't tell you not to work with certain producers. ... I'm a grown f---in' man. I'm a businessman. I'm a music person. We can keep the music sh-- where it's at and the street sh-- where it's at."

Swizz currently has a double video for "Money in the Bank" and "Top Down," and says he's contemplating nixing a "Money in the Bank" remix in favor of reworking the latter track. If you want to read more about the remixes, as well as how Swizz put the kibosh on a potential battle between Cassidy and Papoose.

Mixtapes

Hey Deian, what's your take on mixtape articles? Do you think they're notable enough to warrant articles? You may recall the G-Unit ones on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/All Eyez On Us (G-Unit Radio Part 5). Although the AFD wasn't successful, it still ended up getting deleted. The problem with mixtape articles is they can never expand beyond a track listing. Look at Super Lyrical World Champion or Untold Story (Chopped and Screwed) for example. Although they're made by notable artists, a track list is all it will ever be. But you might have a differing opinion on this. Spellcast 01:40, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

You removed The Re-Advocate, Let The Game Begin, and Aint No Game from Game's discography. If it's gonna be a redirect, it might as well be deleted. I also question whether these tapes are needed: Young Buck Discography#Mixtapes, Lloyd Banks Discography#Mixtapes, and Kanye West discography#Mixtapes. I reckon there's so many pages in Category:Mixtape albums that should be deleted. Spellcast 09:16, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi There

Are you realest4life? Your user name came up as Efil4tsealaer

Anyways if you are, thanks for your help editing Immortal Technique, I read the article a while ago and the thing wound me up. I do a little political philosophy and get annoyed when people just put down or ignore someone who's trying a valid point by calling them conspiracy nuts. I don't have crazy opinions about 9/11 I just like real discussion about it. If you notice any thing like that I'd appreciate a call.

I love hip hop, always have. I did a little DJ stuff years ago in Leeds and helped out on a freestyle night. I love freestyle and hardcore beats. I love the old school rappers and proper MC'ing, the real style's coming back now that we seem to be getting over this RnB bullshit.

My ears tuned into it with Public Enemy, Easy and Ice Cube, KRS1 (I don't have his new stuff, what's it like?) Rakim was my hero, (I'm looking forward to the new album).

What do you think of Wu-Tang? I mean the first couple of albums and RZA'a old stuff, ODB was a legend, Method Man, Ghostface, The GZA that for me was real MC'ing. Nowadays, I'm not saying they sold out, but they definately found the money and lost the technique.

My other music love is punk hardcore and Ska, again political as hell and ripping right to the core !

Anyway, typing too fucking much again,

Keep it up my friend.

50 Cent and label

You removed G-Unit Records as being one of the record labels he's signed to. As founder of G-Unit Records, surely he's signed to his own label? Spellcast 10:51, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

But how come the back cover of The Massacre shows the G-Unit logo? Reply at Talk:50 Cent discography#Labels. Cheers. Spellcast 14:30, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Even iTunes only credits Shady/Aftermath/Interscope and not G-Unit for Ayo Technology. This is hell confusing considering G-Unit Records is probably going to be credited on the album notes of Curtis. Does this also mean The Game is not signed to BWS? Spellcast 15:04, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

lol wtf is web? Ok screw Billboard, let's look at what the actual physical album says. At the end of the day, the liner notes is obviously the most reliable source for this. Spellcast 15:16, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

To add to the confusion, Billboard's entry for The Re-up says it was released under Polydor Records. Yet iTunes has it as Shady/Interscope. Spellcast 15:27, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Ok let's stay on topic here. The key issue is this: Is 50 Cent signed to G-Unit Records as a solo artist? You're saying he is signed to G-Unit as part of a group, but not as a solo artist. I don't think there's a difference between the two. If a group is signed to a label, then every member of that group is signed. Spellcast 15:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

If G-Unit Records doesn't distribute his solo stuff, then it shouldn't be credited on his album liner notes. The liner notes should take precedence over what Billboard says. I'm still not fully convinced. Anyway I gotta go, it's like 2am here. I'll get back at you. Peace. Spellcast 16:04, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I think it's important to note that there's a difference between these two questions:

  • What label is 50 signed to?
  • What label distributes his music?

When you were giving all those Billboard sites as an example, you were answering the second question, but not the first. For example, we know that Prodigy is signed to G-Unit Records. But his Return of the Mac album was only released on Koch. Spellcast 15:09, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Quick Message

Yo, I noticed your comment on your edit to "I Get Money", It said "Don't know why they always have that but it works without them, kind of like that "misc= singles" thing where you don't need the misc". Just thought i'd let you know that the "misc =" field is not to put the singles after it, Its kinda like a asociated acts field but not for associated acts if you know what I mean. it optional. Its just that people put the singles chronology things next to it. That why I normally delete that line, its not needed and makes it look like the singles have to go there. Just thought I'd let you know. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 14:37, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

yeh, wonder why they listed it like that on the page, all of the sub-templates work fine without putting them in a field. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 14:48, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm not 100% sure, but i think it was a single - Real Compton G 17:14, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I have made this article separate because it makes the other article look very awkward with two infoboxes and also it is unclear which one of the artists templates go with what song. It is far better organized being two articles. They were two different songs after all. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 20:39, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Artists

Black Boy

Born and raised in Southwest Atlanta, also Ashby & MLK, he began rapping when he was 8 years old. Growing up listening to Outkast, Scarface, Geto Boys, Notorious BIG, 2Pac, The Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest & Digital Underground influenced him to become the phenom he is now. His rap style isconsidered raw, hard, & poetic with a commanding presence, often known to use punch lines & metaphors which are uncommon with southern rappers which make him a well rounded lyricist, you cant pigeonhole him. If you were to compare him to anybody in the game he would be a mixture of Biggie meets 2Pac to talk about Outkast (You get it?). He does this rap because he’s motivated by rocking shows and moving the crowds, at the same time being able to reach everybody on a personal level.

Black Boy A.K.A. Reggie P is WHTA (Atlanta, GA) Hot 107.9fm Freestyle Champion since 2005 and still holding the crown. He also won the MC War Battle Champ (Atlanta, GA). And he was Best of the Best Winner (Repeated) @ ATLs Most Wanted Showcase (Akini The Black Mack Ent.).

Regarding Blood Brothers...

...Are you sure about that? Personally, I don't hate mixtapes. I just don't think they generally belong in an encylopedia (unless it is actually notable with sales, charts etc., but it's usually not the case). Spellcast 09:40, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Tha Carter III

I made major edits to Tha Carter III article a few days ago. [1] [2][3][4] After they were deleted, I began to wonder if you even took the time to look at the references that I added. I gave 2 references that reveal the album realease date. Also, on both Cipha Sounds' and Solitair's MySpace pages, a track named "Outstandin" was added to each of their music players (they currently co-produce music) and Carter 3 is clearly seen in the song title or description. I also used their MySpace pages as a reference. Why were my double-sourced edits considered vandalism when you reverted them? Blackjays1 08:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, i'm thinking about dropping the adoption just because i'm not able to edit as much as i thought i would when i applied for it, and i was wondering if this would be ok with you? i hope i'll be able to apply again in the future when i've got enough time to seriously edit. I'm sorry if you feel i have wasted your time. --Brooklyn Soldier 19:48, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeh right, what happened you removed your userpage? --Football97 17:52, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I saw some your comment saying "Nice to see people starting articles for old school songs rather than these new billboard songs." lol... Im tryin' to start some articles for a couple of diss songs as it's the best i can make. --Football97 18:01, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Actually u said nice to know others liking the 90's classics. --Football97 18:02, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Yh im also into the Death Certificate days and these classic stuff.. more west coast than east coast but legendary albums like It Takes a Nation of Million... are definatly to be loved and i can't deny it. I remember once i had never heard PE stuff but when i download ITANM i was about WOW... and me too gave a try to Curtis and it was much better than Massacre and that pop shit.. Me too prefer songs like My Gun or I Get Money rather than Follow My Lead (worst track in the album). Btw. who is your favourite football club? Football97 18:12, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Even his voice is like a girl (Justin), and this album didnt have that good production as massacre but lyrically i would rate it over massacre. But GRODT is still his best IMO... Curtis had thumbs-down collaboration from pop singers like Justin, Robin Thicke or Nicole Scherzinger. BTW. Why is timbaland's name included in Ayo Technology? he did just produce the song nothing else. And even his template is puted down. My fav club is Real Madrid and disliking Barcelona too much. lol! Keep it up. Oh and i just realized i asked Real Compton G and Gunit boss for help with the Xzibit's single articles such as The Foundation, What U See Is What U Get, X and so on. --Football97 18:26, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

That's okay, just wanted to see if someone agrees with my edits in Curtis. --West Coast Ryda - Talk 19:41, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Shady Records -> Curtis

Hey man. Just wanted to apologize if it's a bother, but as I was updating the Shady Records page you must've added Curtis to the discography in the mean time. Just letting you know that I unintentionally over wrote your work in the process, which is my bad y0. I haven't made a mess of it though, looks pretty much the same. => Harish101 01:17, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Haha, well how about that. y0, since I'm here - could you help me? I want help personalising my signature? Also, your advice on if it's worth starting the main user page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harish101 (talkcontribs) 01:41, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Whoops at the missing sig above. Anyway, thanks for the tips, I've decided to not bother with the main page. One more bit of help - as you can see, my talk page is a mess from them image problems from back in the day. What's the best way to clean it up? Archiving? Or can I just delete it? If it's archiving, then how do I do that? That's the last bit of small help, bro. Shouldn't be no more bother after haha => Harish - 01:57, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
MAJOR props, man. You're a God send. Thanks for helping me getting my ish straight. Let me know if I can ever return the favour or something. => Harish - 02:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Bots and Image rationales, etc

Hey bro, just read your point on the image rationales thing, and you make a good point. But after getting a whole bunch of image rationale messages hit me up within a short period of time, I didn't have a better idea. Where you said "There are templates, so you add something like "message1" and you get those paragraphs or something like that." I was wondering what you meant? Did you mean that that's how the bots operate? Just clarifying. => Harish - 12:37, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

curtis album

According to billboards.com http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003639442 Curtis has sold 310,000 copies.. why does someone keep deleting this info.? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adewise1 (talkcontribs) 19:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

New Username?

Yo, i noticed u got a new username, why? but also wot do think is better, Curtis or Graduation ? - keep it real - Real Compton G 18:48, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Well i thought Curtis kinda sucked, imo Graduation was miles better, i mean there was only afew songs off curtis tht i liked, whereas on Graduation i liked basically all of them. So Kanye won no matter wot the actual sales turn out 2 b, imo. - keep it real - Real Compton G 19:45, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Lets put it this way, imo, most of Curtis has those bullshit bitches n' money lyrics, but kanye isnt really a gr8 lyricist, so i guess i think the production is the thing tht makes Graduation better. - keep it real - Real Compton G 20:03, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
