Date formatting edit

Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Charles Napier (Royal Navy officer). As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. Benea (talk) 00:33, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

August 2014 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to 2014 kidnapping and murder of Israeli teenagers may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s and 2 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 22:48, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 23 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Edward Cummiskey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Joseph Sullivan. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please stop inserting flag icons into infoboxes edit

Per WP:INFOBOXFLAG, the use of flag icons in most infoboxes is to be avoided. This has been a contentious issue in the past, and the manual of style guideline on infoboxes is clearly against such insertion. I'd encourage you to revert any flag icon insertions you've made recently into the infoboxes of biographies, so others don't have to come behind you and clean up the mess. Again, this was hotly debated and consensus was made several years ago. Please stop the insertion, and I'd appreciate it if you helped with the removal. September 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Wtmitchell. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 1985 Beirut car bombing, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 02:24, 13 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Date formatting again edit

Hi, I made an initial post to your page about date formatting above. I won't insult you with the template again, but can I remind you that on articles about British English subjects, the style of date formatting should not be changed to the American format per WP:STRONGNAT. Please refrain from making changes like this [1], or when adding the age at death template, please don't change the format as you did here for example. September 2014 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did to Kheyvis fire, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Murder? That's pretty strong language without sourcing.
