Over the past month, WP:PW hosted the first Professional Wrestling Stub Reduction Drive. In one month, the number of stub-class articles was reduced from 562 (13.84% of the project's total articles) to 477 (11.64%). More work expanding stubs is always appreciated. See here for more information.

WWE signed April Jeanette, better known by her ring name Miss April, to a developmental contract.
On May 8, WWE signed Fred Sampson to a developmental contract.
TNA announced a new television show, TNA Epics, that will broadcast its inaugural show on May 15 on Bravo in the United Kingdom.

When the title of an refers to several things, it is necessary to provide links or disambiguate the page so that readers typing in that title can quickly navigate to the article that interests them. For example: World Heavyweight Championship (WWE).
Only eleven days in this round to go and it's looking very interesting in the Wildcard race. In particular there is an epic struggle for the automation progression spot at the top of Pool C with only two points in it as I type. In other news, congratulations to Durova for her 200th successful featured picture nomination on the English Wikipedia - well done!

As part of the project's New Year's Reolutions, there is an ongoing effort to decrease the number of stubs to 10%. As of May 10, we are at 11.64%, with 483 articles currently in Category:Stub-Class Professional wrestling articles. It still would be greatly appreciated if members would expand, source an improve stub articles, and a list has been placed on the stub article subpage of stub articles of well-known wrestlers that should be fairly easy to improve.
This section is intended to warn users about potential targets of vandalism and speculation: professional wrestling events from major promotions for the months of May and June.
The lead section of an article should introduce the subject and summarize the entire article's contents. The size of the lead will depend on the size of the article.
Avoid using bolding to emphasize text. See MOS:BOLD for appropriate uses of bold text.

This is just a quick reminder that the round ends this Friday, May 29, 2009.
I wanted to let you guys know the current standings. If you are very close, but not close enough, work as hard as possible these next two days. Pool leaders are listed as usual, and under the 10 wildcards, are competitors that are still fighting for a spot. Also, if you currently have any un-reviewed GAN's up and you'd like them to be reviewed and counted for this round, you must place them on the appropriate thread of the WikiCup talk page.
Hi all. Round 2 is officially over, and we're very pleased with the results. The lowest passing score was over 200! We are very impressed with the last minute pushes to get a spot, which many of you did through mainspace editing your butts off for the last week or so. We really hope that those of you who did a lot of mainspace editing this time around will take some of that and turn it into good and featured content next round.
The pools for Round 3 will be up soon; the round starts tomorrow, June 1, 2009. As always, nominations that were nominated last round but not passed yet, may count for this round. Hope to see you all working very hard, as you are down to the Top 16, and it's going to take a lot to make the Top 8!
Those of you who were eliminated and no longer wish to receive this newsletter may remove your name from this list. If you were eliminated, but are still looking for some fun editing competition, check out User:Shappy/Amazing Race Wikipedia which starts in July.

Regarding Talk:Desert Eagle, You will find that removing content that violates talk page guidelines is in fact constructive and fully in line with guidelines and you don't pay attention to what you're doing or notice when an edit summary is a joke. I'm sorry, but "That was an auto warning from Huggle" is a meaningless statement. If you are using a bot or script to automatically accuse people of vandalism, you need to make sure
The system notifies the "vandal" that the message is automated by a bot or script rather than by a human who isn't paying attention
The system knows the difference between vandalism and an edit summary
I generally tend to assume people are capable of reading the actual edit and in the past this had always proved the case. 69.105.172.180 (talk) 16:42, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I would think to reach the conclusion that the summary was insulting people would have required reading the edit; otherwise the assumption would have been I had added a bad joke or something. Either way, we can agree that hastily auto-processing edits and then discussing the results with me is much faster than briefly skimming the edit and realizing it isn't vandalism. 69.105.172.180 (talk) 16:54, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Now i am logged in, but edited here anonymously, and received a message from you, about civility. Although i'll admit i was out of order, this "person" which i attacked deserves nothing more but contempt, he does not want to work as a team, does not respond to a single message, does not write a single edit summary, etc, etc.

Turns out last week's newsletter was never sent out. Sorry about that! Since we already had it done, we are sending you both. This newsletter is the one for this week though. Anyway, we're seeing you guys working really hard. There are a few of you over 100 points in the first two weeks. Also, we have switched Ottava Rima from Pool D to Pool B, and Shoemaker's Holiday (who has withdrawn) from Pool B to Pool D. Scorpion0422 is more than likely to withdraw before this round ends, because he will be inactive next round. That would leave 2 contestants in Pool B. So, to make things fairly even, we have switched the two contestants. Sorry for all of the confusion!
Finally, we know it's very early, but you can already sign up for the 2010 WikiCup, here! We want to get everything ready way in advance for next year. So we opened the list up, and we'll start working things out in September/October, most likely. Information is all on the page, and you may leave any questions on the talk page.
