Adoption

I would be happy to adopt you. First, you should know that:

Adoption is:

• A mentorship, where the Adopter answers questions and offers friendly advice and support.
• For help with technical difficulties, policy interpretation and conflict management.

Adoption is not:

• Forever. Once experienced, an Adoptee will be able to graduate, though likely to stay in touch with their Adopter.
• A social club. Though fun, Adoption is there to help users use and improve Wikipedia.
• Just for the newest of users. It is also for users with limited experience who want to expand their involvement.
• A shield. Adoptees remain solely responsible for their behavior.

Taken from the adoption information page, not my rules, but it's best to make these things clear setting out. If you're happy with all that, then you can become my adoptee by placing the code {{Adoptee|Strdst grl}} on your userpage - although you are welcome to look for someone else from the list of adopters if you want to, and placing the code {{subst:dated adoptme}} will encourage other offers.

Project news Welcome to the first edition of the WikiProject Children's literature newsletter! If you are interested in contributing or want more information, you can find us in the Outreach department. The project now has a list of its most popular pages. The mosts visited page in our project's scope in July was List of Twilight characters which was visited 538088 times from July 1st to July 31st; which means it was visited a whopping 17357 a day. Due to the combined efforts of several editors, the backlog of nearly 4000 unassessed articles has been eradicated in less than six months. Thanks to everyone who took part! Ways to promote the project If you're interested in promoting the project, why not visit the Outreach department for more ideas? There are many ways to promote the project. One of them is to add the project's ad to your userpage. To do this, simply add the code {{Template:Wikipedia ads|ad=212}} to your talk or user page. Another thing you can do is to invite other users to join the project. To find prospective members search the history pages of Children's literature-related articles and invite people who seem to be deoing good things for these articles. Articles needing infoboxes There are lots of articles within this project's scope without infoboxes. They can help to improve the quality of an article by adding a brief overview. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie Part 1: The first part of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie will be released worldwide this month, coming out on November 19 in both the USA and the UK. British PMs reveal favourite childhood books: The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, and his deputy Nick Clegg last week revealed their favourite childhood books to be Our Island Story and The Gruffalo respectively. Userboxitis

Thanks for the userboxitis userboxes that you made! I just added them to my "collection." Frankly, I'm surprised you found the time, since, by looking at your talk page, you seem to be a lot busier than I am, especially considering that the Userboxitis article is probably the sole truly important thing I've contributed to Wikipedia... Congratulations on being adopted, by the way. I never got adopted, and so I kind of had to figure stuff out on my own (took me forever to figure out how to make a subpage) but I got the hang of it. Thinking of adding a whole bunch of stuff to the Userboxitis article, like how to diagnose yourself, maybe a separate page for a Userboxitis clinic or a list of Wikipedians with Userboxitis or something... Kind of like what Wikipediholism has... I've also been practicing on making userboxes, so I can further my "disease," if you will. -- Imadeausername! (talk|contribs) 03:59, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
