Mike Tindall edit

Why did you revert my changes on Mike Tindall? He always played outside Greenwood. Greenwood had a superstition about the 13 shirt, that's why he always wore it - but whenever they lined up for first phase ball Greenwood was at inside centre and Mike Tindall was at outside centre.

Check the tapes.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Blues logo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Blues logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Vunivalu of Bau edit

Hi there Cometstyles, I've noticed your workand have decided to join the fray of articles going around regarding Fiji. While my area of interest is Rotuma in particular, I've recently noticed some gaps that I thought should be filled. If you look at my contributions I've recently spent some time writing articles about the various Vunivalu of Bau, mainly writing from text sources by Sam Berwick. I realise that this is a little one sided so invite your critiques.

I bring the following to you because i realise your knowledge of fijian nobles may be (probably) much greater than my own. I noticed that for the table on the Vunivalu of Bau page, there are no listed Vunivalu between Penaia Kadavulevu and George Cakobau. Would it be so presumptuous that I should not include in the list Ratu Popi Seniloli, g/son of the Tui Viti Cakobau, which in my book is listed as the next Vunivalu after his cousin Penaia and/or list his supposed successor Tevita Naulivou (elder brother of George Cakobau).

I realise the contentiousness of this, considering Popi is seemingly quite low in terms of order of precedence to have inherited the Vunivalu from his cousin, when he was the son of Cakobau's 3rd son Joseva Celua. However, unless Popi inherited the Vunivalu, neither would have George Cakobau, the last Vunivalu listed and Popi's son. Please give me your thoughts on the matter. Remember not to feed the troll... edit

Hello Cometstyles, thank you for watching my talk page! Unfortunately many trolls come and stop by my page but I learn its best to "walk it off" as they say ;). I noticed the comments you left on his talk page...I appreciate your concern however, remember this great little saying: Don't feed the trolls! Many of these vandals are looking for attention or trying to disrupt Wikipedia to make a point. In order to slow down such wrong doing or prevent it, one must not encourage such acts to receive attention. Of course it is important to report abuse but its better done by simply reverting, bringing to administrative attention, and then ignoring it. Keep up the good work and remember, just don't feed a troll ;)...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 03:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fiji rugby work group edit

Hey, I highly recommend you add the "Fiji-work-group=yes" tag to the {{WikiProject Rugby union}} banner in the Fiji related articles. May attract some more people to join the work group. It's easy to add, for example:

{{WikiProject Rugby union| importance=mid| class=stub |Fiji-work-group=yes}}

If you can get a fifth member I'll join the work group btw (as I promised earlier). - Shudda talk 03:15, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fiji Rugby project edit

Hi there! Thank you for inviting me to join your Fiji rugby project. I am more than happy to help out as best I can whenever needed. I cannot promise to contribute very much, as my knowledge of rugby is very minimal, but I am delighted to help with the formatting, categorizing, and cross-linking of these articles. This much-needed project will fill a big gap in wikipedia. Again, thank you for inviting me. David Cannon 11:31, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Upside-down filmographies edit

The section headed "Ordering": "Items should be be listed in chronological order of production, earliest first."
WP:LOW is quite clear. The "Ordering" section refers to all lists of works, including filmographies. Please acquant yourself with all of the WP:MOS before further editing. You should also read Wikipedia:Vandalism to learn what exactly constitutes vandalism.

MOSLOW edit

You said: "Is it important to use the {{MOSLOW}} tag on filmographies that are not written in chronological order for example a tag that was added on Aishwariya Rai page and by reading the WP:LOW its hard to tell.."

I don't know, I have never used that tag. --Yamla 18:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Opencycle edit

Opencycle is at [1]. While Opencycle uses MediaWiki and has much of the same ends as Wikipedia (it, too, is a wiki-based open-content encyclopedia), it is by no means a "copy" of Wikipedia--Opencycle is an entirely separate project. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.135.29.11 (talk) 00:06, 12 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Response To Monobook. edit

Thanks for the tip with the monobook. Acalamari 20:31, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Actually, in response to a message on Persian Poet Gal's talk page, it's not just popups I've managed to get along without, it's also things like Vandal Proof, and the entire monobook altogether. Here's what I do: I use "tabs" in my browser. I keep my watchlist open in one tab, and edit in others. I also refresh my watchlist every five minutes or so to see any updates on pages I watch. I've just refreshed the watchlist now, and I've seen that Persian Poet Gal has responded to a message or her talk page. Lower down the watchlist, I can see that a few hours ago, I copied the message Jimbo Wales sent to me from my talk page to my Barnstar's subpage. That's what I do: I keep a very close watch on the watchlist. I'll go and refresh it again. Acalamari 21:51, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ask for a favor: Persian cinema edit

Since December 2005 I am working on Iranian cinema. You see that the article came a long path. [2]. I was improving it slowly. However the article is not in a good status yet. I want to bring the article to GA status. As you have a good command of English language and you are a member of editor league, you are in principle able to help me improving this article faster. There might be some grammer mistakes that escape me. It would be great if you could contribute to this article and help me in copyeditting. There are many useful articles here as well. Any helps will be very much appreciated. Thanks.Sangak 20:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could you just instead report all inappropriate usernames to WP:AIV so an admin can block them? Thanks for all the help with keeping to policy though! Sasquatch t|c 16:45, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just FYI edit

See this diff. Can certainly understand your concern, but I'm not aware of a strong precedent in the area of whether this sort of thing is acceptable or could be blocked on sight. You're more than welcome to submit to WP:RFC/N to get some community input. :) Cheers. – Luna Santin (talk) 19:44, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Heh -- we love being ambiguous, I guess. It doesn't hurt to report them to AIV... the explanation that makes sense to me, I guess, is "if anybody can tell this is bad and should be blocked without a second thought, report to AIV," but some usernames are a lot more ambiguous, and for those we have a requests for comment subpage to allow a brief discussion (at most, usually a day or two, frequently quicker) before taking action. Most bad usernames can and should go through AIV -- I see no problem if this is your main reporting ground (just went to block that Ockenbock sock you reported, for example, thanks!) (never mind I got block-conflicted and somebody else actually blocked, just shows how appropriate the report was). – Luna Santin (talk) 19:52, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Persian literature edit

Dear Cometstyles!

Persian literature was previously a GA. However it was silent about contemporary literature. I added information about "contemporary persian literature". The section needs copyediting and also shortening. In case you are interested in the subject, I would like to ask you to help me in copy editting the article. Fiji Rugby workgroup edit

Hey, do you think some sort of collaboration for the group should be created. For example, trying to get an article to Good Article standard? Do you think we should all be trying to get a Fiji rugby article up to a high standard? Any suggestions? - Shudda talk 04:41, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't have anything specifically in mind. What we want is a subject that we can easily research and reference, and that can be covered comprehensively. What about the Fiji Sevens team? Or one of Fiji's more famous players (such as Waisale Serevi). Are there any topics you have a lot of information on, or can get information on? Specifically books, or comprehensive news/magazine articles? - Shudda talk 21:55, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I reckon Waisale Serevi. Mainly because he has finished his playing career, and there should be a lot of information out there on him. The article is ok, but it's needs to be expanded a lot, and there are very few references. Do you want to see what information you can find on him? Add it to the external links section on his page, then we can use it to start expanding the article and adding inline citations. - Shudda talk 22:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Last warning? Thanks for proving my point. Good for you for supporting the politicaly correct strictures. God forbid you allow another view. —Preceding unsigned comment added by sonofdy (talkcontribs)

Reverting removal of warnings edit

I noticed that you reverted the removal of warnings by {{user|XX7} from his/her talkpage. We don't require anyone to retain warnings, messages, or any other content in their userspace if they so choose to remove it. A warning that removal of the information is not the best idea is sufficient, but continuing to add back warnings after an editor removed them from their talkpage could be seen as harassment. This seems to be something that is not generally understood, so I thought I'd leave a message here as an FYI. I know it is annoying when editors remove warnings, but adding them back is generally not a good idea. Cheers.--Isotope23 17:20, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
