"CoolKoon, has agreed with Ronaldka and the addition of the material". Let's suppose Ronaldka is confirmed as a sock (hypotehical discussion). In that case it is not fair to support his edits, even if they respect the policies, because he will make account after account knowing that his edits will be accepted. Thanks for your prompt reply. Do not take it personal. I am not questioning your sincereity. I was concerened as the page was originally created by me. I definately help you in copy editing the materials. But right now I am pre-occupied with some other work.

However, please note that the contributions in Railway, whole section is taken from the Book : Nanji Bapa ni Nondh-pothi, which was published in 1999 from Baroda. This Book was given award by Kutch Shakti at Mumbai in 2000. The other books from which mainly Railway contribtions are taken are : Kutch Tari Asmita & Ratna Bhagat ni Chopdi. Names of all these Books, you will find in Reference section of original page. Further, I would request you to add back the names of Railways companies for which they have worked, whole para has been deleted by you. May be becasue there were many red links. Cats in Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways‎

Greetings, of the cats I removed:

• Category:India: way, way, way too broad. Only a mere handful of extremely general categories belong in a country's top cat
• Category:Rail infrastructure in India: the "History of rail transport in India" would imply infrastructure as well, so this is redundant
• Category:Railway lines in India: the KGK are not a "rail line"; this cat is properly for rail lines themselves, not topics happening to touch upon the issue.
• Category:Railway bridges in India, Category:Railway stations in India: as above, the KGK is not a bridge, not a station
• Category:Social movements in India: not a movement, it is a working community, so I could see Category:Social groups of India, or other cats covering ethnic/labour groups. A "social movement" would be something like "The All-India KGK Advancement Society", which this article is not.

I totally agree that the most specific cats should be applied, but only when they immediately apply to the article. I do note someone removed the cat "Gurjar", which, by the name of the group, would seem to be applicable. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:33, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Consider it this way, follow the link and note that Category:Railway bridges in India is a listing of, not surprisingly, actual bridges of railways in India. It is not used to categorise types of steel which are used in Indian bridges, interesting sights which may be seen from said briges, crimes which occurred on said bridges, etc. It is a category for bridges themselves. The KGK are not a bridge, therefore they do not belong in the category. They are a professional/social group in India, they are a Gurjar subset, and they are part of Indian railway history, so those cats are applicable. MatthewVanitas (talk) 06:26, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

You have continually edited the article to put in the "Romanian" claim to the detriment of the "Hungarian" claim. It is my view that this is an edit war over a long period of time and reflects the ongoing nationalistic fighting over whether Hunyadi was "Romanian" or "Hungarian". At the end of the day it seems to me that he was both. When he was born the area was a Hungarian state, making him a Hungarian, and it is likely that the Român peoples inhabited the area - even though there is no written evidence for this, making him of the Roumain people. This is especially true if he was indeed of a Hungarian father and Român mother.

GOCE January Backlog elimination drive conclusion

Guild of Copy Editors January 2011 Backlog elimination drive Greetings from the January 2011 Backlog elimination drive! We have reached the end of the month and the end of another successful drive; thanks to all who participated. Statistics 54 people signed up for the year's first Backlog elimination drive. Of these, 40 participated. One of our goals was to reduce the size of the backlog by at least 10%. We managed to reduce the backlog by 633 articles, or about 12%. Another goal was to eliminate as many 2009 months as possible from the queue. We eliminated January, February, March, and April—4 out of 12 months is not bad! In addition, we eliminated 37% of all remaining 2009 articles from the queue. Misunderstanding

Chaosdruid:

I think there's been a misunderstanding. I took special care to preserve your edits, since they were all prescient. The previous editor, however, had deleted far too much, and too suddenly (rather than in increments). His intention was obviously good, but it was too much to do without consensus, or even a simple suggestion. I merely restored deleted material which was already there.

Let me emphasize that I surgically re-inserted your edits while preparing mine, and that many of his were kept as well. Because what I restored had been there for over a year (at least), and because readers were probably accustomed to that approximate layout, we should perhaps put the article back to that last version of mine (with your edits), and I would strongly support you in any further typo and redlink fixes you'd make. I'd probabably be amenable to deleting some of the more flowery language, as well, but ask only that you ask me, if you'd like to delete entire paragraphs or sections.

Let me know what you think.

Chaosdruid, as I've written in the talk page of Argentina, I'm at pains to explain that no part of the article was wiped out, deleted, nuked, or otherwise. I believe it's only logical to continue the expansion of, say, the culture section in the Culture of Argentina article while reducing the section itself, to keep the main article from ballooning in size (which it did, time and time again).--LK 21:18, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

I beg your pardon, but I deleted nothing of yours in my last couple of edits, except for a hidden phrase in "Etymology" that LK himself labeled as implausible (I can assure you it's nonsense). I took care to change nothing of yours.

Look, the "economy" section is grossly repetitive, the IAPI poster irrelevant (that may belong in "Economic History of Argentina," or in an article about the agency itself), and the creator of blood transfusions and the Nobel Prize winner should be there instead of the Leloir Institute (which bears mention, but not a photo in exclusion of those others). You'll find that my version covers all the ups and downs in fewer words, and with more focus on the key turning points (my parents are Argentine, so they and their parents actually lived through many of them).

Thanks again for your interest. Most people here in the U.S. don't know where Argentina is, much less about its people and stories.

I ask only that you ank LK keep cuts to a reasonable minimum, and that you at least consider my version of the economy and its history (I'll add it to the talk page).

You mentioned Perón and Argentina's fall from grace. The damage in the country's reputation owed far less to his welcoming Nazis (a policy started shared by the U.S. in Operation Paperclip, as well as the U.S.S.R.) , as it did to his nationalizing the country's cereal export business. You see, the move cost leading landowners millions, and they retaliated by both squirreling money in Uruguay (they still do), and by turning Washington and London policymakers against Argentina (shortsightedly hoping this would lead to his overthrow).

The name of the agency he created to monopolize grain exports? You guessed it...IAPI.

Considering what you mentioned, perhaps the poster was à propos after all.

DYKCHECK

You can find out more about this tool on Wikipedia:DYKCHECK. It's mostly used to check whether an article has been expanded five-fold in a given number of days, which is a requirement for WP:DYK eligibility. Yes, I think one can learn much of Italy's true history from Moro's end. Well, the opinion I got is that until 1974 there was a wave of "black" (post fascist) terrorism (one example: Piazza Fontana bombing), led mostly by Carabinieri's officers (most also of anticommunist stance) in the Italian intelligence. Then the "black" terrorists were discredited... curiously, one the "black" was overthrown by their masters (and in fact they reacted killing many Carabinieri), Mario Moretti took the lead of Red Brigades after that the previous leaders (Renato Curcio and Alberto Franceschini) had been timely arrested. Curiously, Moretti had been informed that they could be arrested, but did not warm them. Moretti also came from a right-wing family and had relationships in the "black" nobility. For me it's clear that he was infiltrated: let's look at his judicial fate. Franceschini, who had revealed many things and did not fire a single shot, got out of prison a few months before Moretti, officially sentenced to six life punishments!!! Some say that the computer firm in which he currently works is nothing but a façade used to "reward" former collaborators of Italian intelligence. Returning to Moro, for me it's also clear that after a while the BR gave him to another organization, likely the Banda della Magliana, who finally killed him as decided by DC's right and post-fascist officers of the intelligence; in exchange, instead of being arrested, BR gave the silence about Moro's revelations. To be cleared the sinister role of Senzani, a Florentine intellectual I did not mention in the article (he was perhaps the director of Moretti's questions to Moro), and, like Moretti, was perhaps another infiltrated of the intelligence. It's clear that there was a substantial convergence of wills desiring Moro's death after his capture. He perhaps condemned himself by writing that he was revealing many secrets he should not speak of, like Gladio (whose existence was publicly spoken only after the Soviet Union's dissolution, in 1991). In the end, he was a victim of militarization of BR led by Senzani and Moretti, substantially the new puppets of the strategy of tension in Italy under the Carabinieri/Propaganda Due intelligence. Ciao! Thank you for your nice help... So, as for the lake, I think it's very small and unimportant (I'm from Rome too but never heard of it before reading about Moro affair), thus we could leave the Lago della Duchessa name. For what concerns the involvement of Soviet secret services, surely they had some little role, but more in disinformation in increasing the supposed role of CIA in the matter. I think Moro's kidnapping was 100% triggered by Italian organizations, from the intelligence-infiltrated BR (Moretti is always pivotal), to P2 and the Italian intelligence itself. I doubt that a government with PCI would be less corrupted than its predecessors. The proof is that, once in 1990s former Communists came to government they proved incompetent and corrupted as any Christian Democratic or Socialist before them!! Ciao and good work!

Argentina Changes

Actually I simply didn't notice that you were around, you should have dropped me a message. Though I still think that it's the culture section the one with the most fat to cut. Hi, Chaosdruid:

I added my proposed changes to the Economy section. I feel these would say more with fewer words, and stick to the critical turning points while still leaving in the most important recent developments (readers would be referred to Economic history of Argentina for any further curiousity they may have on the subject). I'd leave out the IAPI poster, because it is an anachronism that had a noteworthy but fleeting effect on the history (it was dissolved in 1956, and never returned). The British investment in port facilities and rail networs from 1876 to 1914, on the other hand, were a transforming experience that continues to shape the economy today. The nation's population largely spread out along the rail lines, and these and other British investments made the possible much of what drives the nation's economy to this day (particularly where its export profile is concerned).

When you're creating a separate "work page" to keep proposed changes to an article out of the way, you should actually do that in a sandbox page rather than in articlespace. So I just wanted to let you know that I've moved your page to User:Chaosdruid/Argentina/Changes instead; it needs to remain in your own userspace until you're ready to copy and paste the finished text back into the real article. I'm updating the links right now; I prefer to do things like that in AWB rather than manually, so that I don't miss any. Formally, our standing practice is that only pages which are actually meant to function as real articles should be in articlespace, while temporary pages and draft updates and other such work should be kept in projectspace — but you're right, I'm not sure if any of our written policies actually communicate that as clearly as they should. I'd never heard of them before, I'll be honest. It was because another user created a new article with no sources, he does it all the time for non notable characters and goes off in a right huff when I merge it back. I ended up making the sourced article myself to please him (ten sources after hours of scouting). So i presume these are the same. But a quick look on google shows for atleast two, there isn't that much anymore in reliable third party sources. I figured they are fans too. It just needs editors that are not fans of the show to assess them. BTW I too have only done single AFD .. oh dear. :) There's been mass AFD's before, then they can't create them until it they have sourced content, it's actually worked for some projects on WP hasn't it. Greetings! I edit (and find and provide photos) for the biographies of musicians, almost exclusively. However, in my searches on photographer's websites, occasionally something will just stand out, and I gain permissions for those photos as well, asking the photographers to give up their copyright, in exchange for a Creative Commons license. William Cho's work is so exceptional that I secured permission from him for a variety of photos, including the bridge above, and several others- which-- I think all were uploaded to Commons in a Category : Buildings in Singapore. He's a great person, and I really think you should contact him.. I have his email address. If he has more photos for the articles you mentioned, I'm sure he'll be happy to provide them. I myself recognize great photography but have limited myself mostly, to the 900 photos or so I uploaded and placed on the biography articles- mainly in en.Wikipedia but some other language versions too. Hi Chaosdruid, the article about Uruguay has seen a large number of edits over the last couple of days (I happen to be responsible for most of them), virtually no section was left untouched. I don't see this article becoming a FA any time soon, but I'm mostly satisfied with the current revision, though so far the only comments have been from an anonymous user who finds the lexical similarity between Uruguay and "urgay" hilarious enough to justify the blanking of the article (I don't blame him, I blame this guy here). In any case, after this drastic alteration the article could use the attention of an experienced copy editor for a very quick, very informal review. That would require checking this UNESCO CD published 10 years ago just to ascertain whether the people at the Dept. of Labour got lazy and copypasted their work on the government website. Even if we really were to do that, and found a copyvio, I think that would hardly invalidate all your work so far. The other two sources you reported on the talk page as possible copyvios (from the Congressional Research Service and the U.S. Library of Congress) are unambiguously in public domain. Besides, even if they weren't, is the similarity between the original and the wiki article strong enough to violate their copyright?--LK (talk) 23:26, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

There was no luck involved, if you check the references you will see that half of them are from the US Department of This&That or the LOC. Anyway, since you're done with the copyediting, do you have any preference for a particular barnstar? From reading that document you linked me, I understand that it is about the creation of a writing system for the Ngobe-Buglé of Panama, while the Kogi are from Colombia. I'd be happy to help you CD (and I mean it), it's just that I can't understand what is it that you're looking for in that document. I didn't find any mention of either Kogi or Kogui in the document you linked me, or even in the website of the university of Siena. The document is in Spanish, and is about a writing system for the Buglere language spoken in Panama. No word about the Kogi anywhere.--LK (talk) 17:33, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Within that document, "Kogi" and "Kogui" are used interchangeably, but they are always invariable in number ("con 6.926 kogi"; "1.662 kogui"). The names of the tribe are reported as ""Kogi, kággaba, köggaba", the self-appellations as "kogi" (jaguar); "kaggaba (for the ethnic group); kogian (for the language, though the usage is inconsistent, there are several mention of a "lengua kogui"). In other words, there doesn't appear to be a strict difference between "kogi" and "kogui". The few English language sources within the document seem to prefer the "kogi" spelling, but they're not numerous enough to draw a significant conclusion. I hope this helps. Each guide can only have 9 daughter tabs, so depending on how many guides there were was the iussue

We could do it A-Z or you may be better off collecting individual peoples pages and transcluding them onto secret pages for example (if confidentiality is required)

So if you edit the section I put my yellow bar in, you can put those few lines of code anywhere on en-wiki and it will update in real time, well at least with a page refresh it will.

I am agnostic on whether the guides should have tabs - I tend to think no, because I'm worried about the scalability of it. A master page with links to userspace pages that each guide hosts, perhaps... but if this trial works out, we'll probably look into some technology to support it a little better. The page John_Hunyadi and the section dealing with the disputes are Talk:John_Hunyadi#H._Munro_Chadwick and where I made my declaration of NPOV Talk:John_Hunyadi#H._Munro_Chadwick (near the end of the section).

In particular the 2RR statement as well as wanting to make sure I have not acted incorrectly in reverting.
