Speedy deletion of "Spire (software)" edit

A page you created, Spire (software), has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content, but does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Move National Anthem of the Republic of China edit

Why did you move the National Anthem of the Republic of China without a discussion or a consensus for the move?Typhoonstorm95 (talk) 02:45, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Did you even know about that Republic of China was moved?

Did you know that this is the proper name of the song? Did you realize this is the same national anthem for the Republic of China (1912-1949)? Do you realize that the Republic of China that now governs Taiwan is the same sovereign state that ruled China from 1912 to 1949?Typhoonstorm95 (talk) 21:28, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Signing articles edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Meng Tingwei. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. - Jorgath (talk) (contribs) 17:11, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Foreign language articles edit

Hi. Thanks for patrolling new pages, but be careful about using WP:CSD#G1, as you did on Athuman s pongwe - that is only for things like "4754##^?qx!!~*" or "Yaaayyyy LOL!!!!!!". The definition "excludes poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, implausible theories, vandalism and hoaxes, fictional material, coherent non-English material, and poorly translated material." A contributor writing in another language might well be offended if his contribution is labelled "nonsense" or "some random made up language."

What to do if confronted by an article not in English is explained at WP:NPP#Dealing with foreign language new pages. Google translate will usually identify the language - in this case, Swahili - and give you some idea what it is about; and feeding a few setences into a normal Google search will show you whather it is copied from somewhere.

In this case, the article was about the Chaga people and was in fact a copy of the article from the Swahili Wikipedia at sw:Wachagga, so I speedy-deleted it under WP:CSD#A2, the point of which is that if an article is cut and pasted from another WP the attribution history is lost. It could also have been WP:CSD#A10. You can see at User talk:Athumanpongwe the advice I gave him.

Keep up the good work - New Page Patrol needs all the eyes it can get! Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:45, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Counter Vandalism Unit Academy Instructor edit

Hi TheChampionMan1234, if you don't have a problem I'll be your CVUA instructor. You will be my first student so any advice (good things & bad things) you can give me would be much appreciated (I'll get to that in a minute).

I have created a page in my userspace called the Academy page where we can work through what I need to teach you. I'm planning to cover quite a broad range of topics, including reverting vandalism and warning users, page protection, usernames, and new pages. Then, depending on the counter-vandalism tools you want to use, we can work out where to go form there. Hopefully you will learn a lot during our time together.

Before you get started on your first tasks it's worth having a read through my CVUA page which has some useful info as well as the lead section on your Academy page. Lastly, I mentioned feedback - on your Academy page there is a feedback section. If you have any questions as we go you can either leave them on your Academy page, it's talk page or on my talk page depending on what is is - use your judgement, I can always move it if need be. Regards, Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 16:52, 10 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Are you still interested in the CVUA? If so would you please start working through the questions at User:Callanecc/CVUA/TheChampionMan1234. If you would not like to continue, please reply to this message so I know what to do next. Regards, Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 06:17, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Martin-Gruber Anastomosis Speedy Deletion Declined edit

Uhm, what the heck? - not only is that not a blatant hoax, it isn't a hoax at all. There doesn't appear to be any speedy deletion criterion that remotely applies to the page (or non-speedy deletion criterion, for that matter), so I'm hard pressed to imagine what you might've been trying to do. I notice you've already been cautioned several times about applying spurious speedy deletion tags to new articles; that has the practical effect of biting the newcomers, and otherwise disrupts the processing of legitimate submissions to speedy deletion. WilyD 05:35, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me, are there any references that claim importance/notability/significance of the subject? The creator might think this is notable, can at least someone improve it And add reliable sources? Or I'll submit this to AfD, (^o^) --TheChampionMan1234 05:44, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Firstly, whether or not a detailed examination of the subject would determine whether or not it's notable isn't relevant here. It isn't a blatant hoax, nor does it fall under any other speedy deletion criterion, not even remotely so. This is just a friendly warning to knock off your disruptive speedy deletion tagging, a warning you've received before.
But I'll also note, it's worth spending a second or two of your time to assessing whether a topic is notable before nominating it for deletion; it's less of a waste of everyone's time. WilyD 07:12, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Francesca Mazzucato BLPProd edit

I removed the BLPProd from Francesca Mazzucato. There was a reference in the article, albeit unreliable. In order to place a BLPProd tag, there has to be no references. Bgwhite (talk) 05:00, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, there was no reference, only an external link --TheChampionMan1234 05:45, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
It is a source. That counts as a source/reference if it is backing up claims made in the article.
From WP:BLPPROD "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc.), which support any statements made about the person in the biography." (bold not mine) Bgwhite (talk) 05:51, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

For the record CSD#G1 does include foreign language articles if said article is nonsense in it's own language. The fact that an article is not in English does not mean it cannot qualify for any other deletion criteria--Jac16888 Talk 17:37, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Either by knowing the language, or sometimes by looking at it through a machine translator, although in the latter you have to be careful because if you select the wrong language it may display nonsense, and sometimes they are still unintelligible even when using the right language--Jac16888 Talk 19:03, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merry Christmas (bah...) edit

Unfortunately, all the artists have articles. This cat only applies where they haven't. Who is going to buy the damn thing, I don't know - the combination of Justin Bieber with Lady Gaga, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra too, is mindboggling. I can never see why people buy Christmas albums anyway (the TSO does give this one a bit of a lift, to my mind but Bieber and Gaga fans won't have heard of them). Might be worth AfDing. Notability edit

Hello there.

I would like to make the friendly suggestion that you would find the page WP:N helpful in your journey writing articles. Specifically, regarding the "Free China" page you created recently (the one about the documentary co-produced by New Tang Dynasty Television), there is nothing on the page demonstrating its notability according to reliable sources independent of the subject. That would include newspaper reports in other media organizations, or reviews about the movie, or notices of awards it has won, and so forth. Two New Tang Dynasty-related links does not demonstrate to readers that the article is notable. TheSoundAndTheFury (talk) 21:36, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Neuropsychiatric Forum edit

A tag has been placed on Neuropsychiatric Forum, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
It was tagged for SD before a move, under Notability, and was not tagged in its new location by the editor that moved it (who seems to be the editor who created page)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. gwickwire | Leave a message 21:37, 29 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Zou Xi Kou edit

Hi, I'm Emayv. TheChampionMan1234, thanks for creating Zou Xi Kou!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It's a good start to the article, but one sentence is a bit short and there are no references or wikipedia links to it. You should probably expand the article or nominate it for deletion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. —Preceding undated comment added 12:59, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
