Unspecified source for Image:BNDP_militia.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BNDP_militia.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:19, 7 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 02:19, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tarik Aziz is Arab edit

I have nothing against the fact he can be Assyrian, but he declared recently his the scion of an Arab Chrisian family:

That Assyrian showed in the map has nothing to do with Syrianis you are trying to connect with. That was a toponym remembered through ages after evilness of ancient Assyrians. To use a toponum to change a certain ethnic groups history is cheating and discouraged by wikipedia. cheers!

Simko Shikak edit

Since you're knowledgeable on Assyrian issues, can you take a look at Simko Shikak and expand it with relevant information? There are no mentions of his massacre of Assyrians, and User:Heja helweda keeps removing the POV tag I added to the article as a result of neutrality concerns expressed by several editors on the article's AfD, which is very disruptive. --Mardavich 05:05, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Picture for Assyrian People infobox edit

Shlama aziza,

Please consult the talk page on Wikiproject Assyria, where I proposed to have a vote on who to include in the Assyrian people infobox. As you may already be aware, there is a bit of disagreement between myself and EliasAlucard as to who to include, and he recently changed the picture without consulting anybody. So if you could check out the page and perhaps provide some input as to how we can do this vote (if it is a good idea at all). We need to set some guidelines, because people such as EliasAlucard are making major edits without discussing them in the talk page first.

Thanks. Posh bshena.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Aramaean people. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Aramean people edit

Please get involved. Some child out of nowhere wants to create an ethnicity. The page Aramaean people was always redicected to Aramaeans. All of a sudden this teenager comes and claims these people actually exist. Where anyone with common knowledge of this topic knows its a utterly joke. Chaldean 12:33, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not getting involved, I don't know anything about the subject. All I'm doing is telling you both to stop. Or you'll both be blocked for a cool-down period, for violating the WP:3RR. That's all. Gscshoyru 12:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

For your information, Chaldean, the page was created today: [5]. It has never been a redirect. But I agree, it should be merged with Aramaeans. However, the image you created is misleading, and erroneous. As I've been trying to point out to you, there has been an awareness of Aramaean heritage among the Syriacs, both West and East. And I have talked with Syriacs in Istanbul, and read interviews with Syriacs who live in the Southeast of Turkey, who acknowledge their Aramaean ancestry. So it's simply not true that the Aramaean identity is a 20th-century invention, nor is it true that no one in the Middle East considers themselves Aramaean. I would love to start with the Syriacs page --I had done so about a year ago, before it was without any proper discussion turned into a redirect to Assyrian people--, but won't do so without discussion, in order to prevent another deletion of the page. --Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 13:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Osroene edit

Please! I am already aware that Syriac/Aramaic was used in Osroene, but why do you remove Pliny's source? Aramaic was even used in the Sassanids kingdom but nobody claims that they were Assyrians! Aramaic was sort of lingua-franca in those days. The etymology is also clear, it comes from name of an Arab tribe. Please don't remove reliable stuff. Definitely Pliny has to be mentioned.Heja Helweda 23:14, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please check the sources that I provided. The name derives from Orrhoe (modern: Urfa), the name of an Arab tribe.Heja Helweda 23:18, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interesting Point edit

But Pliny identified them as Arabs. They converted to Christianity and used the Aramaic language for their religious ceremonies. I say again, I have nothing against your theory and at the beginning thought that the name may be related to Assyria, but then I found the Pliny's reference. Also please remember that most muslims are not Arabs but use Arabic as a religious language. This is similar to the situation of Osroene.Heja Helweda 23:25, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, come one. In fact I included a lot of material about origins of Christianity in Osroene and its Syriac documents and writers. As I said, Syriac/Aramaic was used in that region but there were Arabs around. After all Romans had an Assyrian province around the same time, right? which was further to the east (in Nineveh). Nevertheless, I keep looking for more reliable sources. If I find the name Assyrian as an ethnic designation for population of Osroene, then I will include it. Please remember that I have done the same for Medes. Many Kurds/non-Kurds claim that Medes were Kurds, etc. But I have not found any reliable source on that connection, and you can see that on the Kurds page I added the alternative theory about their origins according to which Kurds are not from Medes.Heja Helweda 23:34, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Arrapha edit

Hey, I'm getting a little different things from what you have about this battle.

This source: Healy, Mark (1991). The Ancient Assyrians. New York: Osprey. pp. p.

Claims that it happened in 615 BC and it was the Medians who siezed Arrapha - ? BTW, i know that info at the time is tenuous at best - no doubt both the medians and the babylonians boasted a victory that both wished to see, but perhaps both did not participate?

Maybe we should include both sources in the article?

Man of Bravery!! 02:54, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I dont own the article tho. We're a team man! Ok maybe i shouldnt take this too far... ah what the heck we assyrians are few and far between, u dont mind me being all nice do u?! Ok well u kno what, if we cant tell, why dont we just edit the article how we feel - like if we feel a grudge against iranians one day, we'll say the Babylonians did it. If we get a grudge from Assyrians who say they are Neo-Babylonians, we'll say the medians (iranians) did it! I will try to see what other sources have, see if i can get a "source consensus" lol.Man of Bravery!! 03:25, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Again Osroene edit

That personality you mentioned is definitely Syriac. But why you are rejecting Roman sources accroding to which the inhabitants were mainly Arabs. After conversion to Christianity they started using Syriac for religious purposes. This is very clear fromthe sources I provided. Also one historical source and author close to the events rules out other modern interpretations. I prefer to stick to Pliny than modern writers, because of the modern POV and nationalism which did not exist back then.Heja Helweda 21:55, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Akkadians in Ancient Arabia edit

Hi Chaldean, I was curious about your opinion? Do you feel offended by listing the Akkadians as in the Ancient Arabia page. (the Akkadians only, I clealry mention that the Assyrians are a Mesoptamian evolved culture that dont identify with the Arabs)

  • The Akkadians lived in Arabia before they entered Mesopotamia. (even Elias himself knows that and admited to it)

below are links to neutral non Arab websites. The Akkadians Arabian origin, The Akkadians migration from ArabiaFirst result search for Akkadians

  • The article is related to the ancient Arabs, not modern Arabs.
  • The article mentions the (Akkadians only) as an ancient Arab tribe before entering Mesopotamia, the rest of the Mesopotamian tribes were not considered Arab. That still didnt work well for Elias!
  • you saw the section in the bottom that was aded to clearly erase any confusio about the Mesopotamians identity.

I always had respect for the Mesopotamians and respect their culture, that I never claimed as Arab. I am only mentionning an important part of the history of Ancient Arabia and it well known. Honestly, the AntiArab behavior of EliasAlucrad makes me wonder? Is that how every ChaldoAssyrian is ? (I am not sure how you you want me to address you?) in the Iraqi websites they say ChaldoAssyrians and I thought ChaldoAssyrian is proper beause I saw your edit n the ANcient Arabia page, where you said Chaldean = Assyrian. --Skatewalk 00:33, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • It's not about being anti-Arabic. Perhaps if Arabs wouldn't be killing as many Assyrians as they are killing daily, I would've liked Arabs more. And of course, if Arabs weren't trying to Arabize us. Apart from that, it has nothing to do with this. Akkadians were not Arabs. It's as simple as that. Stop running around on different peoples talk pages and embarrass yourself like this. — EliasAlucard|Talk 04:12 15 Aug, 2007 (UTC)

Last time I checked I didnt kill no Assyrians!? In Iraq there is a war and everyone is dying. Assyrians are suffering like e very Iraqi. Its very sad but should not reflect on an Ancient Arabia article! embarrassed why?--Skatewalk 04:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you talk to Elias? edit

I think Elias is taking it too serious. It is a well known fact that the roots of the Akkadians were more Southerner then they established their empire centuries later. So no, I don't get offended (and even if I did, what does it matter, facts count on wiki) if Akkad was listen in Ancient Arabia. But lets get this straight - its Ancient Arabia, not Ancient Arabs, right? Is that how every ChaldoAssyrian is ? - No, absolutely not. in the Iraqi websites they say ChaldoAssyrians and I thought ChaldoAssyrian is proper beause I saw your edit n the ANcient Arabia page, where you said Chaldean = Assyria - ChaldoAssyrian is a term used by political parties, not on a encyclopedia. Chaldean just means Catholic. I don't think its important to list the religion of a group. Ethnic group is enough. Chaldean 03:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Maybe he finds it offensive when I keep discussing this with him? can you tell him its ok to list the Akkadians in the Ancient Arabia article. I think he will listen to a fellow Mesopotamian better than, Thanks --Skatewalk 05:02, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chaldean, I've restored the page cut, and I'll reiterate my rationale that I put in my edit summary: The link that "supported" various claims in the article was dead, and the claims themselves were not scholarly (no academic linguist claims such connections) or verifiable. Iraqi Clubs names. edit

Hello Chaldean, When I went to Iraq and I visited some clubs such like Al-Karkh, Police …etc, and they are using the English names for the Clubs, such like Police Club, Air Force, Army FC, also I checked the other clubs Name list and they are using Al- definition like Al-Shatra instead of Ash Shatra, Al-Najafa instead of An Najaf…etc also I went to Sulimaniyah to do the same thing and they told me they use X instead of KH… Zaxo. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Iraq Al Quwa Al Jawia.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Iraq Al Quwa Al Jawia.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Greater Iraq ? edit

Hi Bro, I'm sorry for bothering you, I just have a question just look at this Greater Iran and Greater Syria.. as I remember when I was a little kid I heard about Greater Iraq? something about west part of Iran (Khuzstan maybe?), the East part of Syria and Kuwait were belong to Iraq.. so I'm asking did you heard anything about that? If it true and if is there a strong source we should make the Greater Iraq article/page. Salam bro Merry Christmas and happy new year. Mussav (talk) 07:44, 25 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Osroene edit

The issue is to provide reliable sources. I am well aware of the fact that Syriac was used as the written language of Christian communities around Edessa and Osroene, and personally think there has to be a etymological connection between Osroene and Assyrians, however unfortunately have not been able to locate any good, academic source on that. The point is if you provide a bad source, it just undermines your argument. This is definitely not a academic source [6] and I am sure there are good peer-reviewed journal papers out there, it just needs a bit of patience :) Happy Christmas! Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Iraq Al Quwa Al Jawia.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Iraq Al Quwa Al Jawia.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Assyriska Föreningen edit

I've seen that you've edited this articlte previously, so I think you'll find this interesting. User Johan Elisson has deleted this section [7], saying in comment "Youth tournaments are not notable enough to be included".
I disagree with him. Gothia Cup, is a big event (World Cup for clubs, category U11), and winning the cup is a big success.
Fact that the winner is an immigrant squad, possibly the best success that any Assyrian football squad ever had (am I wrong?), gives the "weight" to this case.
So, I believe this should stay on that page, and I believe that that success should have a place on the WikiProject Assyria. What do you think?

Syriacs edit

Hi, I was checking for vandalism, and I noticed there seems to be a minor disagreement over this article. Why do you think it should be redirected to Syriac (disambiguation) ? That article has Syriacs as one of it's entries? I wasn't able to sort out how this should be. Greswik (talk) 20:47, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have replied to this on my talkpage, but basically just said the answer is we can't take the other side in the dispute seriously. This answer doesn't explain much! Could you explain where you think the information you revert out are to be found in Wikipedia now, and why you don't want an article about Syriacs? Greswik (talk) 14:54, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You keep on saying we can't take the user seriosuly. Even if you provide an example of an edit summary with a wrong assumption, I don't see this answer as a good reply. The arguments must be shown to be wrong each and every one - I don't think the way you dismiss them becaue they come from a given user is according to policy. You have also made an issue out of me using the word "you", and then said I gently accuse you of dictatorship. Please assume some good faith here. I get the impression this is a bigger content dispute than I thought. You inform me that "WE, the experts on the issue, [...] have come to a conclusion... " Could you please show me a link to this conclusion? Greswik (talk) 18:22, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please do not speak in behalf of me: I have never said that the Syriacs are not an ethnic group. Actually, I believe there are many reasons to state that the Syriacs do constitute a separate ethnic group, within which the issue of heritage is hotly disputed. --Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 19:07, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Syriac is not an ethnic group. It's the name of an Aramaic dialect, spoken by Assyrians (who have historically also been known as Syrians). Hence, Syriacs are Assyrians. Now, there are some Assyrians, who disagree with this and claim to be Aramaeans and that Syriac means Aramaean (it does not) based on a vague and inaccurate mistranslation of the Bible's Aram into Syria, but the ethnic group is Assyrian. Period. — EliasAlucard (Discussion · contribs) 20:01, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

What about, naming the article "Syriac/Aramaic people" VegardNorman (talk) 00:39, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Making a new article, "Syriac/Aramaic people" instead of "Syriac people". The article is about those syriacs (suryoye oromoye) whose origin is aramaic. What do you think? VegardNorman (talk) 00:45, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
But Western Syriacs may also refer to Western assyrians. The western assyrians does not think that their origin is aramaic VegardNorman (talk) 00:49, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
It does not have to redirect to either assyrian or syriacaramaic. where do you live? VegardNorman (talk) 00:52, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I haven't made any edits on the article. I guess your reacting on what I wrote on the discussionpage, but seriously, don't be like Elias, he said that all Syriacs are Assyrians, and that it is a fact, and that he is calling a spade a spade or something like that. And now your doing it again, you know that it is a theory from Frye(?) that Syriac (Suryoyo, Suryoye etc) dervies from Assyrian. And it is ridicolous of you to bring up Herodotus as an argument, when Strabos(?) quoted someone that said that those who the Greeks called Syrians, called themselfs Arameans. So yes, it is still a theory, not a fact. And it is far from supported by the influental academics, like Brock. The TriZ (talk) 00:20, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I said Elias, are you Elias? And i personally hasn't supported any moves. The TriZ (talk) 01:36, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Assyrian DNA 2 edit

Hey Chaldean, thanks bro for your replies. I thought it might be a good idea to start a similar section on your page to save you the trouble from finding mine out and going to there. I was thinking I put my replies here and you put your on my page for easy access, but if it's a waste of space, please feel free to delete this and I'll start replying on my area's section.

As for the arguement, I do agree that for all intents and purposes - especially in light that there's no such thing as 'pure race' especially in the mid-east, I will agree that it is fair to call Assyrians Bon Fide decendants of the Ancient Mesopotamians. However, considering there is no such thing as a 'pure race' and my DNA results, I believe it is also justified to recognise some Iraqi Arabs as arabised, islamised decendants of the aramaic speaking indiginous peoples. This is especially true in the Levant and Iraq - you can see the section here on wikipedia on 'Arabisation'. Furthermore, you understand that ethnicity has nothing to do with geneology (one of the first mistakes I did here), but is rather self-determining.

I understand I started 'being Mesopotamian' slightly more so after my unexpected DNA results, but you must understand that Iraqi Arab culture (and even language dialect) has always been distinct from other Arab cultures and dialects. We are equally proud of out Mesopotamian heritage (you know the Iraq National Football - or Soccer, team is called 'Lions Of Babylon') and even celebrate festivals like Return of Tamuz (and another thing which's origin I don't quite know called 'Zarda ou Haleeb' I think). So I think it is more than waranted that it is recognised that Assyrians are not the only geneological or even ethnic decendants of the Mesopotamians, though they are the decendants of which ethnically and culturally, or Bon Fide - But so are a lot of Iraqi Arabs minus the language.

My proposal for a compromise is that the 'only' and 'sole' phrases that (in my opinion) wrongly imply they are the only geneological or ethnic (in terms of cultural) decendants of the Mesopotamians be removed - unless you want to argue I don't exist, and what I said is a figment of my imagination :D . However, it is more than fine by me that you mention they are the Only people to continue using the language. Also I understand you name now, I wont fear a supremacist from now on :D And thanks for your work against PoV's, I and many Wikipedia users appreciate it.

Thanks for your time man, and take care. Nabuchadnessar (talk) 16:22, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Islamic contributions to Medieval Europe. edit

You are correct in informing me of this. However, as you may have noticed, I am on wikibreak and am in no position to do any editting. Sorry.

I promise to be fully back after March 22, the last of my UCSD exams. For now, let me know what needs some fixing.

The thing is, how can Islam make any contribution to Europe? Yes, europeans were ignorant compared to Arabs but thats because the Arabs inherited a 1000 years of Greek and Roman Science and Engineering as well as philosophy.

Assyrians contributed to Europe? I don't know about this. I agree that many Islamic achievements were in fact Assyrian, but of course why would any one even give a shit about us Assyrians, a minority when there are millions of other people screaming political correctness. Alas my friend, the vanquishers write history, but that does not mean the vanquished cannot revise it.

Anyways, what I am 100% confident of, and sure of prooving is that Byzantium contributed to European knowledge.

Hell if Islamic contributions to Medieval Europe did occur, they were crap because the Byzantine Empire was the most advanced state on the Planet until the Ottomans took it and Europe remained less advanced for years to come.

I'll get back to this later. For now, keep me informed.

Poush bshena

Tourskin (talk) 05:39, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rubbish, anti-Islamic disrespectfull garbage. The Muslims also inherited science of the ancient Mesopotamians and Egyptions and their other ancestors. You cannot deny the great advances in science and mathematics and algebra, as well as medicine in Iraq. The Ottomans were the decendants of the Byzantines, so theres no difference who made the discoveries, it's still the now called Turks. You have a clear anti-arab, anti-Islam biased thats not welcome on a neutral place like wikipedia. I'll revise any edits you make as soon as I get time with all my uni preparations now (my course starts quite earley in 1 Sept), but I also trust Chaldean's unbiased judgement on that, and hope your proposed edits wont take effect. Assyrian DNA 4 edit

"There isn't pure ethnicities or race in the whole world, not just the Middle East. Thats just how it is, all of mankind has lived in one earth since the beginning. I will agree that it is fair to call Assyrians Bon Fide decendants of the Ancient Mesopotamians. However, considering there is no such thing as a pure race and my DNA results, I believe it is also justified to recognise some Iraqi Arabs as arabised, Nabu, this is accepted among historians and Iraqis themselves. I don't know if you understand Arabic, but if you ever watch a Iraqi tv channel, you will see how sometimes they show how patriotic they are of Al Rafidain (Bet-Nahrain) and many politicians advocate Iraqism over Arabism in terms of them being Mesopotamian descent and different from other Arabs."

I totally agree with you there bro. :)

"But that self-determination is largerly based on what language that group speaks. Which I think is a fear thing to do. No? If your grandfater was born in Greece, your father was born in Greece, and you were born in Greece and only spoke Greek, wouldn't it be justifable to call yourself Greek, even thou you don't know your DNA make up beyond your grandfathers?"

Very true, ethnicity is determined largely - sometimes almost entirely on language - it plays a very big role. I should have read the ethnicities section before coming in all guns blazing :D . I mean look at places like Sudan - geneologically, I'm sure most people are almost entirely black, but call themselves Arabs and are even passionately upset if it is questioned - the reason is language. Somaliee are geneologically closer to Arabs (National geographics again ;) ) yet don't call themselves arabs. Language is very important in ethnicity just like you say bro. :)

"Azizi (dont know if you know what that means) I know this lol I was born in Iraq and lived there for quite a few years :D We are equally proud of out Mesopotamian heritage (you know the Iraq National Football - or Soccer, team is called Lions Of Babylon) One close couzin of mine represented the Lions in the 86 world Cup ;) "

Hahaha a true Iraqi, yeah I know what it means akhi, I also was born in Iraq and came to the UK in 98 when I was like nine, but I still remember a lot of Iraq. Send all my regards to your cousin, that team gave us so much pride - we won one of the most highly paid, best trained and spoiled teams, while our country was in such crisis, man wish you was with us when we were celebrating out win. :) BTW never knew it was also called Lions Of Babylon before too.

"I agree with this, and I am looking at the page and I can't seem to find anywhere stating this? Can you please point it out for me."

Thanks Chaldean, I appreciate it. I think that sectio was there last time I checked, I think it must have been changed by then already. I guess this dispute has been resolved then. Thanks for all the co-operation and help, I appreciate it. BTW, I said it has been resolved in the discussion section, as I think it pretty much has been. I also renumbered the sections in order of them being posted, incase anyone wants to know how it got resolved, hope you don't mind man. If you don't like anything, feel free to change it back. :)

Thats a great thing to do. And I'd be honoured to be part of Wikipedia's active members. Now this has been solved, I'm going to try sorting out the errors I see in the List of gangs in Grand Theft Auto series and the Iraqi people section. You say we shouldn't have an article at a title which generates "only 300 google hits". Good! I agree! Syrian Nestorians should redirect to Assyrian people. Now, you will agree, a title that generates even less google hits, such as Syriac-Aramean people about 100 should also redirect to Assyrian people. Enough with the pov forks. We will keep this article at a single title, and list all names we can reasonably attribute to external sources as synonyms. dab (𒁳) 08:53, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. ArcAngel (talk) 02:40, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Two articles edit

There should be two articles about two groups. Syriac people and Assyrian people. Syriac-aramean people refer to Syriac people. And im not happy about the proposal about creating a new article with title Assyrian/Syriac people. VegardNorman (talk) 11:52, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flagicons edit

Hi. Please don't insert flags into infoboxes. They are discouraged for good reasons by WP:MOSFLAG. Rettetast (talk) 22:03, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

Thanks Chaldean. Now you mention it, I wouldn't mind you help here: Talk:Ali_al-Shemari#Third_Opinion if you can spare a moment! AndrewRT(Talk) 23:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Iraqi minorities page edit

There is some talk of merging Iraqi minorities into Minority politics in Iraq. What do you think? I don't mind so long as the overall information is preserved (i.e demographic data and current politics). Obviously Iraqi minorities deserve an entry devoted to them, but I think the heading 'minority politics' is kind of narrow given the long history of the Assyrians, Mandeans and other peoples who are now minorities in Iraq.

Unity edit

3000 Christians of the Assyrian Church of the East have with 16 Deacons, 4 priests and 1 Bishop entered inoto Full Communion with the Chaldean Catholic Church. Woow!Tourskin (talk) 03:40, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, because they claim to be an Apostolic Church, they give themselves the title, "Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East". Tourskin (talk) 18:21, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh wait, do u mean u want the Chaldean Church to change its name? How about Chaldo-Assyrian Cartholic Church? Tourskin (talk) 14:50, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Naming conventions edit

I briefly read all the comments regarding how many articles are needed for all these petty small Assyrian groups and my head is going to explode. So whats up, its basically just the Arameanist trolls at it again?Tourskin (talk) 16:36, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know from Elias tireless battles what Dab's agenda is; trolling from one Assyrian article to another. Tourskin (talk) 16:46, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

He's an admin right? How did he ever become one. Tourskin (talk) 02:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the assistance in Osroene. What exactly did you want me to do though for the naming conventions thing? Tourskin (talk) 02:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I've added it to my watch page. At the moment you seem to being holding them. Tourskin (talk) 02:47, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dab edit

This guy is seriously beginning to piss me off. Gees, I never though he was this much of an ass hole, constantly changing shit without discussion. We gotta report him. Tourskin (talk) 13:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agree. VegardNorman (talk) 23:20, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Whats up with the titles edit

The title Syriac people were much better than West syriacs. What do you think? VegardNorman (talk) 23:21, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
