Request for edit summary edit
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Imaginary logarithm edit
You may have noticed that imaginary logarithm is up for deletion. I changed complex logarithm to discuss the case of log(-x) for real x. In fact, one has
for any/every integer n; the value is not uniquely defined, since log is inherently multi-valued. It seems that the term "imaginary logarithm" has historical importance; for example, Euler seems to have used the term. If you can read Latin, or otherwise do historical research, I suggest that perhaps the right thing to do would be to write about how the term "imaginary logarithm" was used hundreds of years ago. linas 17:45, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Golden ratio edit
I reverted your change to Golden ratio, since you didn't explain the method, and since it's such a hard method compared to the others.
By the way, your Parabolic Constant article has a typo in the lead, and sure needs a figure. I'm hoping to understand what it says. Also, you should move it to Parabolic constant, for consistency with wikipedia article naming. Dicklyon 03:34, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Hexagon method, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi Carifio24. I just wanted to let you know that I removed the equation you posted as the "General form for even positive integers" for the Dirichlet eta function, because I believe it is incorrect. Hello, Carifio24. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
