August 2020 edit

Per your edit at Taíno,

  • Additions should be CITED to RELIABLE sources so the information can be VERIFIED by viewers and other editors. These are core policies for editing on Wikipedia.
  • WP:REDLINKS should be avoided in instances such as this, please consider researching and writing an article on Dieguillo 'Guaiken' Colon (Dieguillo Colon) before re-adding that name to that list.
  • If your plan is to use the information at the top of this page about the novel by Jose Barrierro to cite information about Dieguillo Colon, please note that novels are not considered reliable sources for citing historical facts on Wikipedia.
  • Cheers and happy editing, Heiro 21:15, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I believe Jose Barriero may have misused the term Novel. Though novel means a tale or series of events as a ficticious story, Jose Barriero explains that this was the true story of the Taino Indian, Guaiken, who came in contact with Columbus at the age of 12. There maybe some controversy on this once I submit it but if I can't find a relatable and more source with a different tittle then it will be the source title "Taino: A Novel." That is not how it works here. If you can not find a better source than a novel, then the information will not be accepted. Heiro 22:07, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Also, if you add 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) after your posts on the talkpages, the software will automatically sign and datestamp your comment. Heiro 22:11, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Well we'll see how wikipedia confirms the source. Californianscholar 3:13pm, 7 August 2020 (PT) Californianscholar (talk) 22:14, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

We actually have a noticeboard for that, Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. If you doubt what I've advised above, please feel free to make a post there. Heiro 22:18, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

But thank you for the tips on what to do. (Californianscholar (talk) 22:17, 7 August 2020 (UTC))Reply

If you are interested then maybe you can help me out on putting Guaikens story out. Im not too much in a rush to start the Article yet but I do want to publish and edit this as soon as possible. So hopefully the sources I provide are genuine.(Californianscholar (talk) 22:51, 7 August 2020 (UTC))Reply

You can start a new section at the article talkpage Talk:Taíno, listing your citations and asking other editors to weigh in on their validity as reliable sources. Plenty of editors watch that article and it's talkpage, as it is a frequent target for the addition of uncited material. One of them may be interested in pursuing it. Taino: A Novel moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Taino: A Novel, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Taino: A Novel edit

Hello, Californianscholar. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Taino: A Novel".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 05:16, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
