Request reason:

Caught by a web host block but this host or IP is my VPS and I do not wish it to be blocked. Bystroushaak (talk) 00:40, 5 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your explanation makes no sense. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:27, 7 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

We do not allow editing through anonymising services/VPNs.Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 18:21, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thats understandable, but it is not anonymising service. It is my own server, which I pay for to host my web page, and which I need to use as VPN because of my limited connection. I don't require you to unblock the IP for anonymous users, but for me (=this account) specifically. —User:Bystroushaak
No sense? I pay for the VPS (Virtual Private Server = Linux machine), where I host my webpages (http://kitakitsune.org). It is my server, registered to my name, owned and used only by me. I also use this server as endpoint for my VPN, because my connection is restricted. Wikipedia blocks the whole IP pool of the VPS provider in fear, that somebody would vandalize it using anonymising services. I, Bystroushaak have no intention to vandalize wikipedia, because I only edit when logged under my account, which has a long history (first editations ~2009, see https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diskuse_s_wikipedistou:Bystroushaak). I don't understand, what problems you have to unblock MY OWN server, tied to my identity. It is not anonymising service.

IP block exempt edit

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this userright to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked (through the use of CheckUser) periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Katietalk 02:33, 17 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Based on your UTRS appeal and CheckUser findings, I've granted your request. Thanks for your patience while we sorted it out. Katietalk 02:33, 17 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

IPBE expiring - March 2019 edit

Hello Bystroushaak, I'm working on some routine cleanup and see you have not made use of the ip block exemption flag on your account for over a year. This will be removed in about a week, unless you reply below that you still have a need for this flag. This will have no impact on your ability to read Wikipedia. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 12:49, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. As your account has been inactive for a year and there was no reply above, this flag has been removed. This will have no impact on general editing, however if you are trying to edit from certain blocked IP addresses you may need to move to another address or request a new exemption. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 20:55, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
