June 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Philipp fehl has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bfacebook\.com (links: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44577&id=727145848.jpg). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Speedy deletion nomination of File:GeroldHeaderExpanded.gif edit

A tag has been placed on File:GeroldHeaderExpanded.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 03:53, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Weyauwega Arts edit

A tag has been placed on Weyauwega Arts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:04, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Andrew Printer.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Andrew Printer.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb1 (talk) 04:14, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Andrew Printer edit

A tag has been placed on Andrew Printer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb1 (talk) 04:15, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Copyright issues edit

The issue is not so much if you have permission to use the material, but rather has the owner of the material authorized its use in Wikipedia. The owner of the material needs to allow its use. Please see donating copyrighted materials to Wikipedia for more information. ttonyb1 (talk) 15:53, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:Andrew Printer.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Andrew Printer.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NW (Talk) 14:53, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of John C. Coulston edit

The article John C. Coulston has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No content

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I am away from home where I have many other secondary sources available. I will not be able to further improve this site until mid December 2009. There are secondary sources which are available in the Los Angeles Public Library but may not yet be online. Nonetheless, this man is a genuine American hero and should be acknowledged in wikipedia as such.

Please read up on the Wikipedia policies which are listed at the top of this page as you do not seem to have understood them yet. I have left further comments on improving the Coulston article at the article talk page. At the momwentt there is no referenced assertion of notabvility. The criteria for WP:Notability state that for 'Any biography you need to demonstrate that:
  • The person has received a notable award or honor, or has been often nominated for one.

It was a Presidential Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster and does qualify.

^The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field.

No evidence of this has been provided. Jezhotwells (talk) 21:23, 16 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

You don't think that being the first man in Cherbourg qualifies as a widely recognized contribution? I do. I think this should go to a wider debate. As I said, I am not in a position to provide all the reference material that I can acquire as I am in an intensive program requiring almost all my time. When I get home I will provide further material of note.

Douglas N. Graham edit

I have edited this biography so that it does not read like a hagiography. You've been editing Wikipedia for long enough surely to know not to write articles in that manner, it was ridiculous. Please source it properly using reliable sources or it is liable to get deleted. Fences&Windows 23:56, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of John C. Coulston edit

I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John C. Coulston. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Fences&Windows 00:14, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Dr. Doug Graham edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Dr. Doug Graham. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Douglas N. Graham. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Douglas N. Graham - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. RJ (talk) 23:39, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Breezesdelsur! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 936 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Proposed deletion of Douglas N. Graham edit

The article Douglas N. Graham has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Nomination of Douglas N. Graham for deletion edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Douglas N. Graham, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Douglas N. Graham until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

Speedy deletion nomination of Ruth Hayward edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ruth Hayward requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Singularity42 (talk) 19:03, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Links to Wikipedia articles edit

Hello, and thanks for your recent additions to Wikipedia articles! Just so you know, when you want to place a link to another Wikipedia article, it requires double brackets: [[Ruth Hayward]] not [Ruth Hayward]. Single brackets are used for external links, i.e., links to a website rather than a Wikipedia article. Happy editing! --MelanieN (talk) 16:31, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
