Vivid Racing

I have userfied the article by moving it to your user space at User:Betty Merm/Vivid Racing. You can work on it there. Please do not move it back into article space until someone else has reviewed it and agrees that it is appropriate. As it is now, I agree with others that it was kind of spammy. I cannot even really judge myself whether this subject meets our inclusion guidelines; you may want to post at the relevant Wikiproject (WT:CARS) to get some better-informed outside opinion. I wouldn't want you to work on something that is still ultimately not going to be kept. Also, maybe take a look at other articles in Category:Automotive motorsports and performance companies to get a feel for how an article like this might look. • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

As an employee of Vivid Racing you should not be writing about it. The promotional nature of the article that you have written is proof, if any is needed, of why the COI policy is in place on Wikipedia. I have read what you have noted above, and I have no secret agenda. I only wanted to get on to Wikipedia to enhance the article that had already been started by someone else. I'm not interested in editing anyone else's article. I have seen that there are volumes of pages and guidelines that one could not possibly know when starting out, and I'm trying to follow them as I see them. In fact, I think a good idea is to have a tutorial pop-up come up right away when someone clicks on the choice of "becoming an editor" explaining in better detail what is expected. I didn't create a User page with information yet, but, yes, I am a part time employee of VR, writing for them. I also read about not writing things that could identify someone here. I read about editing still being possible if you have a COI, so I have been trying to write the article with more neutrality. Someone else said it was well written, so I will probably keep trying to get it the way it should be and finally submit it.Betty Merm (talk) 16:15, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
