Pixel Press edit

Hi Bathchurnning, thanks for your article on Pixel Press and welcome to Wikipedia! A quick question for you: do you have any affiliation with Pixel Press? If so, we ask that you declare your affiliation with the subject on the article's talk page (see the COI guidelines). Let me know if I can help. – czar 17:19, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message. I see that I am mentioned in a few other places with accusations of being a paid editor. To be clear, I am not paid and not associated with Pixel Press. It took me quite a bit of time to research and write the article. If there are issues with the way it is written, please let me know and I will address them, but there is nothing about me that needs to be associated with paid editing. --Bathchurnning (talk) 19:21, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey Bathchurnning—thanks for your recent contributions. I noticed your interest in Wikipedia's video game content and thought you might be interested in the video games WikiProject. We've done some great work (over 250 pieces of   Featured content and over 800   Good articles), but there is plenty more to do. Come say hello on our talk page, participate in our current events, or let me know if I can help with anything. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope I'll see you around. Since you said that you are here to help build and create articles, I would like to apologize if some of us in the project came off hostile. After OrangeMoody a lot of people are a bit on edge. Myself included. We always welcome new editors and if you have any questions or concerns please let me or any other member know so they can be answered. Cheers. You know, I was surprised and confused by everything and then searched for OrangeMoody in Google after I logged off. Looks like a mess but I guarantee that I am not part of any paid editor campaign or extortion of any kind. I can see why you would be on edge, which is the same reason why I do not feel like being associated with such characters. I hope that you can clean up that confusion on the proper discussion boards as it puts a mark on me that I do not feel comfortable being associated with. As far as the project, I don't mind helping out with the project, but was hoping more to create articles based off crowdfunding projects. If this is something that fits within the project's goals, then I am all in. Let me know. --Bathchurnning (talk) 23:55, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
My other thought when reading the comments is that I should have created a bad article instead of taking the time to write as good as I could. But this would be a double edged sword as writing a bad article without proper references would likely lead the article being deleted. Confused at the whole process I guess. If I write a bad article, it gets deleted. If I write a good article, as stated by other's comments, I get accused of being a paid editor because it is written by a new editor. --Bathchurnning (talk) 00:01, 26 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I recommend to help dispel some concerns is to create a user page. I didn't have one for over six years and it caused concerns during that time. Though I keep a red color as a signature in remembrance. Also, a lot of Kickstarter projects do involve with video games so that's all good. Have a look around Wikipedia and see where's the best place to be part of. And mingling with other editors to understand everything might be a good idea as well.
