Orphaned non-free image File:TikTok app screenshot.png edit

⚠
Thanks for uploading File:TikTok app screenshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 12:46, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Floating textbox edit

Hi, I was wondering if you could please consider removing the floating textbox from your Talkheader template. It is rather jarring for it to be consistently on-screen, and means I have to scroll up and down to see the text covering it, and most likely other users as well. You aren't breaking any policies by having it, but it is incredibly annoying to have floating elements on any webpage. Thepenguin9 (talk) 04:36, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

Done The floating textbox will now only appear on Pi day, New Year's, April Fool's, and Fourth of July to celebrate. Aasim (talk) 05:12, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

fmbox edit

What is the actual problem with using {{fmbox}} on pages like MediaWiki:Titleblacklist-forbidden-upload. Is this something that could usefully be discussed at WP:VPT? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:15, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

MSGJ The issue is that the pipe character when it appears in Regel messes with the message. There is no way to escape it in system messages without using HTML as far as I know. Let me know if I am wrong! Aasim 15:28, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
I have asked at VPT for any advice — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:04, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

Artesia Wells edit

Apparently, you are not familiar with the Manual of Style of which you are so proud. 2605:6000:1523:8F2:8CAA:62C5:DD7:BD2D (talk) 17:30, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Can you tell me what was wrong with the old revision? It would be really good if you provide an edit summary explaining why you made the change you did. This is important as it makes sure that we do not mistake constructive edits for unconstructive ones. Oh, and while we do document our manual of style, you can do almost anything with common sense. Since you appear to be relatively new, I recommend that you take a look at our Wikipedia:Manual of Style page as well. When articles stick with one style, it is inappropriate to change it without good reason. Aasim (talk) 17:39, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
Did you read the talk page? I'm not relatively new, just a new URL I'm tired of people reverting pages without reading the edits, as you apparently did. Thus, I keep reverting to restore the corrections.2605:6000:1523:8F2:8CAA:62C5:DD7:BD2D (talk) 19:00, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
I took a look at the talk page. Thanks for leaving a comment there. But please do note that while reinstating your edit may be needed to protect your revision of the page, it is mostly counterproductive to continue to reinstate your edit. Like the notice I sent said, those that edit war are likely to lose their editing privileges on the page they are edit warring on. This is done to (1) facilitate discussion and (2) protect against disruption caused by edit warring. It does not mean you are doing anything wrong, see this page. Thanks for understanding. Hi, I noticed on the WP:HotCat talk page you made a comment a while ago wishing that HotCat would be compatible with the Timeless theme. I was wondering that myself, and I found the answer at Wikipedia:HotCat#Compatibility. Hope that helps. ~EdGl talk 18:24, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Tagging edit

Hello, I'm unsure why you tagged this when the page was requested for moving at WP:RM/TR? —Nnadigoodluck 10:04, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Sir; The citation for the edit to Saint Elmo Brady can be found on the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity website updates page! I am sorry but I am not a very skilled computer user and cannot correctly place this edit --- perhaps after you have confirmed this independently verified citation, you would be so kind as to reinstate the edited information. Thank you for your attention to this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.115.55.109 (talk) 18:53, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Sixty-nine.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Sixty-nine.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. CptViraj (talk) 15:51, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

User:CptViraj - I think that is a mistake. F2 does not apply to that page because the image is on the bad image list. Also, F2 does not apply to "pages containing information not relevant to any other project (like {{FeaturedPicture}})" {{bad image}} is relevant to enwiki only because the file is on enwiki's bad image list. Aasim (talk) 18:05, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Apologize. I thought that it is just in bad image list of azwikipedia as this page isn't showing enwikipedia. I hadn't check the MediaWiki:Bad image list by myself. I've now reverted my nomination. Thanks! -- CptViraj (talk) 02:15, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Re: Quick note on Liyue edit

Thanks for your note. But drafting a disambiguation page or article underneath the RFD discussion notice is a pretty standard practice at RFD—otherwise closing admins have to draft disambiguation pages themselves as part of the closing process, which can be time-consuming and makes it slower to close the day log (especially when the discussion isn't clear about what all articles belong on the disambiguation page in the first place.) AFD script edit

  • Hello Aweson Aasim, I am QEF, I work on multiple wikis and usually I am in search of new gadgets, new scripts, I found your this particular script very useful and thought can't we take it to other wikis? Like I tried to take it to hiwiki but it's not working, As I don't know Java Script, I just try and change few paths to fit it. But I think we need more work to fit it in hiwiki. Would you be able to help us out? thanks QueerEcofeminist[they/them/their] 06:40, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
    w:hi:सदस्य:QueerEcofeminist/xfdvote4hi.js QueerEcofeminist[they/them/their] 06:42, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
    • QueerEcofeminist I really only designed the AfD script for the English Wikipedia and I do not have any plans to transwiki at this moment. I'm sorry. I haven't left many comments in the code either, and I am loaded with a lot of work and so my activity is somewhat limited at the moment. The reason why the script is not working for you is because I designed each XfD voting thing as individual modules for easier code writing. If you want to consider transwikiing the tool for a possible gadget, you may want to start by importing and modifying User:Awesome Aasim/xfdvote.js/afd.js as a start then replacing all the mw.loader code with mw.loader.load("https://path to your XfD module&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript"). For now, that is all I can tell you. I hope to give a more detailed reply later, but I have other real life matters to attend to. Thanks for understanding.  :) Aasim (talk) 06:56, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Awesome Aasim, thanks for your reply in busy schedule, I will try to get help from someone else. regards. QueerEcofeminist[they/them/their] 08:36, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
