College of Science and Technology (Bhutan) edits edit

Hi. Here are a couple of notes regarding your edits at College of Science and Technology (Bhutan):

  • "The College of Science and Technology is a university in Rinchending ..." was changed to capitalize "University", which is incorrect. While it should be capitalized when it is a part of the given name of an institution (e.g., Oklahoma University), it should not be capitalized when being used generically, as it was in this case. See MOS:CAPS for more guidance on capitalization rules.
  • The section title "Programs offered" was changed to "Programs Offered", which is incorrect. Section titles use sentence case, where only the first word and any proper nouns are capitalized. See MOS:SECTIONS.
  • Immediately under that, bold and underline styles were added to "The College of Science and Technology, as of .... Wikipedia uses bold and italics only in specific situations, as described at MOS:BOLD and MOS:ITALICS.
  • "CST Kuenphen Tshogpa serves as the philanthropic club in the institute. The club members dedicate themselves to serving needy communities by collecting donations and essential goods." was changed to "CST Kuenphen Tshogpa serves as the philanthropic club in the institute, the club members dedicate themselves to serving needy communities by collecting donations and essential goods." This common grammatical error is called a comma splice. The original structure was correct per MOS:COMMASPLICE.
  • "The two most popular sports in the institute are soccer (football) and basketball." was changed to "The two most popular sports in the institute is soccer (football), and basketball." The original sentence was correct.

I expect the last one was probably just a mis-read, which happens to us all. As far as the others, it can take some time and experience to get used to our Manual of Style (MoS). In addition to these links, there's a "crash course" on the MoS at WP:SMOS. You might also consider going through The Wikipedia Adventure. Cheers. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 02:50, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup edit

Hi! I'd very much recommend spending a few weeks expanding articles (with reliable sources of course) before applying cleanup templates, it does take few weeks to get used to the norms here on Wikipedia and much of it is not obvious (I still do many silly errors when entering a new area here). I've removed a few of your templates since they weren't quite correct, I don't see what's non-neutral about Panthoibi Iratpa for example. The thing that finally got me into editing here was patrolling recent changes and reverting vandalism, it's fairly fun honestly. Feel free to come ask at the Teahouse if you have any questions. See you around :) – Thjarkur (talk) 17:51, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Þjarkur: Hey, and thanks. I was wondering if ther was Karma, or Reputation as I am confused what the "-52" means on my name. Thanks, and to everyone visiting this page thank you for the Warm Welcome, AwesomeJedi (talk) 17:57, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oops, I see the puffery sentence in Panthoibi Iratpa. I've removed it ;) – Thjarkur (talk) 17:58, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Þjarkur: Thanks, on the CleanUp Page someone submitted that request if you can mark it as done. I was wondering if ther was Karma, or Reputation as I am confused what the "-52" means on my name. Thanks, and to everyone visiting this page thank you for the Warm Welcome,AwesomeJedi (talk) 18:01, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh, there's no karma points here, it just shows how many letters were added or removed from the page in your edit. In your last edit, you increased the page size by 379 letters. – Thjarkur (talk) 18:05, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
