References - using a citation template edit

When adding references to an article, it's better to use a citation template rather than just a link to the article you're referencing. If you use the following template it makes the links in the reference list a huge amount neater. You don't have to fill in all tags, just as many as you can while leaving the others blank.

<ref name="">{{cite web |title= |url= |publisher= |author= |date= |accessdate= }}</ref>

Title is the web page or article's title Url is the link to the article Publisher is the publisher of the site, such as Kotaku or ActionTrip Author is the name of the journalist who wrote the article Date is when the article was published Accessdate is when you added the link to the article

Also, the name in the ref tag means you can use the same ref multiple times. Use it once in the longhand form like above, and add name="kotaku_color" in the ref tag. The next time you want to reference the same article, just add <ref name="kotaku_color" /> and it'll use the same link.

Hope all this helps. Give me a shout if you need any help. Gazimoff WriteRead 10:26, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

February 2022 edit

Hello, I'm PrincessPandaWiki. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Fandom (website), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ❤︎PrincessPandaWiki (talk | contribs) 17:00, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
