Signing posts edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:51, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, 4lepheus B4ron,
I recommend you stop tagging pages for deletion because you do not have enough experience to know what you are doing or what the correct criteria are for an article to be considered for deletion. But if you are going to file an nomination for an AFD, please sign your name after providing a valid deletion rationale. You have forgotten to do this on every AFD you proposed and it's very confusing for other editors to not know who the nominator is. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:54, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your proposal to merge articles edit

Recently you proposed that five galaxies in the Local Void be merged to the Local Void's article, but did not open a discussion thread at the target to xplain why these articles should be merged. I have opened a new discussion at Talk:Local_Void#Proposed_merger_of_five_galaxies, but in the future you may be reverted if you add a merge tag without also opening a discussion thread explaining a proposed merge. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 15:04, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, if it is possible to redirect an article without merging any content, AfD may be used instead. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 15:09, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Merge proposed without starting discussion edit

You proposed a merge here but you did not start discussion as required WP:MERGE. I reverted the proposal, feel free to reinstate it with proper discussion. --Muhandes (talk) 18:28, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

For the same reason I reverted your merger proposals here, here, and here. Feel free to reinstate it with proper discussion. --C messier (talk) 15:34, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

merge edit

You have (not for the first time, if your User talk page is anything to go by) started a merge proposal without following the procedure at Wikipedia:Merging; in particular "Please use the discuss parameter to direct to the same talk page. Otherwise, two separate discussions could take place." jnestorius(talk) 08:48, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

June 2023 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. November 2023 edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Ferdinand Marcos, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Unduly placing words in quotation marks is a violation of guidelines pertaining to proper use of punctuation in quotes, and skews the article away from a neutral point of view.   You have tagged Category:Articles to be moved (and other category redirects) for speedy deletion multiple times and been declined every single time. This is disruptive. Do not do this again or you will be blocked from editing. Hyphenation Expert (talk) 02:46, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I won't do it again, but I want to clarify. What are the purposes of category redirects and why are they kept? Anonymy365 (talk) 22:24, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Best I can do is direct you to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion#Redirecting categories. Liz Read! Talk! 21:30, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Stop deleting move discussion edit

Stop deleting the closed move discussion on Talk:Kwalhioqua–Clatskanie people. It says "The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it." which includes deleting the discussion. Stop the disruptive editing.  oncamera  (talk page) 05:00, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
