Hello, Andrew!

In polish wikipedia I found uodate info about MBC eps. In polish MBC eps list there is next eps: "Time Capsule", "Know Thyself", "Night Visitors (1,2)", "Shadow of Octovores (1,2)" and "A.E.A.R". It published as specials. Is this eps in truth MBC epsiode guide? Hom much eps in really MBC eps list? 52? Or more? Is "Revenge of Stalkers" in really full MBC episode list? On some french websites MBC have only 52 eps.

UKTV Gardens/Really (Sky Digital TV Channels)

A rebrand of a channel means a change of name only, and possible different programming. A closed TV station means some other company has brought the channel or it has closed down fully. Really is still UKTV Gardens, under a different name and different programming. UKTV still owns Really. It should not be put into the removed channels section as it has not be removed. House DVD covers

Sorry- I did preview to make sure I hadn't broken the table, I obviously didn't look closely enough. The use of non-free content in lists like that is something that has been decided to be not acceptable- it started with the removal of screenshots from episode lists, and led onto portraits from character lists, album covers from discographies and so on. Basically, the use of this sort is deemed to be in violation of point 2 (minimal use) and point 8 (significance- what do they really add?) of the non-free content criteria, and their removal is pretty standard. The article would have no chance at FLC (which I assume is where it is heading) with images used in that manner. J Milburn (talk) 11:54, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

I can appreciate that it is not as appropriate, but a non-free image should only be used if it is absolutely essential to the article understanding, rather than thrown in on a "some images would be nice" whim. By inferior I just mean the resolution is lower and the colors seem to be warped, probably because it seems to be a direct scan from a magazine. The attributes of the image are inferior. As for a lead image for List of House episodes, I think the best one to use would just be File:House logo.svg. It is free and probably fits better than any other image. Article assessment for Nota Bene

Thanks for looking at it, Andy (I was the one who requested the evaluation).

Can you point me to where I can find more info about the points on which you passed/failed it? I thought a "stub" was one of those five-sentence articles that really didn't give much information, so maybe the meaning of the word has changed.

But anyway, also a couple of other questions: what would you consider "reliable" sources, or, what sources cited in the text seemed "unreliable" to you?

How does one get around the catch-22 of posting a screenshot of a copyrighted software GUI? I have screenshots of all three of the main NB modules (Lingua, Orbis, Ibidem) but haven't put them up because close reading of the rules for the Commons made me think I didn't have the rights to them.

Don't mean to eat your time up but would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

Andy, many thanks for getting back to me about this. I will review all the links you provided and try to sort out what might be better sources, but considering this is about a niche word processing program (though a very good one) it may be difficult to find published comment about it from anyone other than users or the manufacturer and the consensus among us users was that we didn't want the article to be an advertisement for the product. If I am not mistaken, you've tagged Time Team America as needing "additional references or sources for verification" some time ago. List of Virgin Media Channels

Hi Andrew, First of all, I'm not a weird person, I am a Virgin Media customer, on the L package for TV (which if you took the courtesy to check my user page you will have been aware of this). Those adjustments I made are what comes up on my package. Also, a member of my family works for Virgin Media (as a technician doing the installations for new customers along with other duties) and he also agree with the adjustments I made. The BBC HD Channel (EPG 108) doesn't appear on the L package, it will only be available to XL customers. Hallmark +1 is now on the L package and no longer on the XL. Also 2 of the ESPN channels are available to ALL Virgin Media customers as part of a free trial throughout August 2009. Therefore I'm reverting things back to how I had them. Specials should have their own section. E.G. Things like Heroes. They have their own section for the internet web-series, instead of being placed in the area between the date of the episodes. If you get what i mean.

E.G. Episode One - Released... (lets say) 14th November 2009 Webisode episode One - 16th November 2009 Episode Two - 21st November 2009

In response to your question on Talk:List of channels on Virgin TV - there are no specific time-line set out for archiving articles on a users personal talk page. It is up to the discretion of the user to whom the talk page is connected to. (Pr3st0n (talk) 11:34, 13 September 2009 (UTC))

I think I should clarify in response to [1] that per WP:USERPAGE users can delete comments from their user talk page without reply, without explanation, at any time - archiving is optional. Please read in particular WP:BLANKING and WP:DRRC, if users delete content from their talk pages it should be assumed they have read and acknowledged the message. RE: Reading Problem Accusation

I would like to point out I don't have a reading problem (although I do have bipolar). If you read he press release in full, you will notice that it does state about ALL HD channels being a part of the XL package only for customers with V+HD box. Furthermore, there are several adverts in national newspapers and magazines in the UK which also confirm this. I would suggest a consensus on this, there seems to be conflicting information about. A Virgin Media press release shows info about HD being on the XL package only and also adverts in the press stating the same. Yet you state that it is part of the M package based on other sources. This needs to be cleared up fast as the wikipedia article cannot be left incorrect based on this "sourced" information. (Pr3st0n (talk) 12:16, 11 September 2009 (UTC))

This is a quote of text from the article "Virgin Media will make its full range of HD channels available at no extra cost to its XL TV customers." Please explain to me where it says in that, that the HD channels are on the M package? From what I read it says its on the XL package at no extra cost. Apology regarding the above

Thank you for posting an apology on my talk page regarding the above accusation. Your apology is accepted. Just because you felt that someone may have read something wrong, you shouldn't really just to assumptions that they may be dyslexic, just because you are also. Pointing out something like that could be deemed as very hurtful to a user. It only needs for a user to have underlining mental problems and a comment like that could push them over the edge and even perhaps have serious consequences where they end their own life. It has been known to happen in the past - and I just want to prevent anything like that happening in the future. I have bipolar disorder which is bad enough to cope with as it is. Dispute Resolution - Re: HD Channels on Virgin Media.

Dear Andrew;

I am writing with regards to the ongoing Dispute Resolution surrounding the misleading information on HD Channels for Virgin Media customers. I feel that a fair and open Dispute Resolution Process won't be able to take place as long as one use continues to violate Section 2; Sub-section D of the Wikipedia:Civility#Engaging_in_incivility act, which clearly reads "quoting another editor out-of-context to give the impression they hold views they do not hold, or to malign them". As one user refuses to remove references to my name and members of my family from their points, then a fair and open resolution process cannot take place. I don't wish to take further action against the user. However, failure to abide to the rules clearly set out by Wikipedia will result in an official complaint being lodged to the administration team. I hope you are able to understand this Andrew. At the end of the day, I, like you, want a fair and open dispute resolution to take place, and if this isn't to be the case, then we are all stuck in a stalemate situation. Fairly new editor, joined the UK TV project, need a bit of help re a link to Border Television

This series is broadcasting in various channels. Air times are different among the channels. Discovery Science channel started broadcasting in July. Discovery Asia and others started in late September.

Moreover, the episode orders on each channel are also different.

Thanks for the supoprt, and have joined up at the rescue sqaud which i never kenw existed. I will wait and see if the article gets deleted if it does i will get it moved and slowly work on it myself. I just annoyed that people bring articles up for deletion that clearly will have notabilty even if it can nto be found and article that have been poor worked on. If it a article that has no enclopedic information i see hte poitn and general i vote to delete myself. But it seems that my arguement that there loads and laods fo tv shows with article similar ot this one that are big shows are not getting took on board and they are not getting afd and my guess would be the users liek them shows but i can never prove that but i am not biased and i will not afd them either because i know there can be good article if worked on but this was nominated a few days after airing and genereal reviews and such take weeks and months to appear on line and it harder since most place that reviwe it will be in america and this is new series in the uk which wont go there for while. but thanks for the help again and i will take it one step at a time maybe it will be kept and i can help get it better :)--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 14:24, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Transclusion

Looking over the recent edit histories of the List of House episodes articles it appears that you've taken it upon yourself to maintain them. I don't really have a stake in that or the articles themselves, and you reverted me, so I'll drop the problem in your lap. The issue which you reverted me on (which, incidentally, you should be more careful about. Comments such as "dnt touch code you have no cliue about" aren't helpful and will only lead to larger problems) is exactly the reason that you shouldn't use transclusion within the mainspace. You also reverted more then the removal of the <noinclude> tags, by the way. Use of {{tocleft}} really should be avoided as well, since you should notice how it's "sandwiching" the text on the pages where you're using it.

I did drop a note about this on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television, so you might wish to start a conversation with them. User:Collectonian seems willing to provide input here. Regardless, I won't interfere with those articles any further. Happy editing!

Departion

Andrew, just because they "disappeared" at the end of episode 25 doesn't mean they are no longer in the series. Series 3 has been confirmed, both of which would most likely be in the series. Morgana did not die in the legend, as she grew older, so there is a huge chance they have not both left the series. Much of your spelling is accurate, but with letters switched and spaces misplaced in words (instead of between them). Also, do you touch type? If not, consider learning; It may help you. I know most are swiched an omst peopel dnt beleive but that is how i read it like JUST i read it as JSUT it never been explained why apart from it easier to read backwards or something or that i do not rea dhte iddle biut jsut the first and last letter so i jsut fill in the blanks in weird ways. Hi

Hello - I was wondering how I might join this task force. I've been a software developer for 15 years. I have loads of degrees and stuff. I'm currently doing a PhD in theoretical neuroscience. This involves building a GPU cluster of NVIDAI fermi devices (consumer cards actually, not the expensive ones), connected via an infiniband (and the PhD title is, I think, in computer science).

I'm interested in contribution on matters related to that kind of hardware. Firstly, the niche market of supercomputing and cluster computing hardware (like infiniband). But more importantly on the matter of current GPU hardware and it's fair assessment.

What has pre-empted this is my dissatisfaction with the article on NVIDIA's gtx480 gaming board (of which I administer ten). I don't feel that the article is at all fair; my contributions on the talk page reflect this. I also feel that it has mostly been written by gamers who've been reading and citing reviews from websites written by non-experts. The point of this device is it's potential; not it's performance on the current generation of video games (which I understand very good in fact). Even assessed purely as a device for video games, I feel the article is misleading because present games simply aren't programmed to take advantage of it's features.

I care largely because I'm sitting a computer running an intel i7 "x8664" chip. This concept was invented and implemented, with great vision and risk, by AMD. The i7 builds on that research. But AMD are floundering. I worry that the same will happen to NVIDIA over this; they'll end up penalised, partly because of difficulties with chip yields at the factory both they and ATI use, but also simply for their hard work and vision. The notion that the "theoretical peak floating point performance is only 13% higher than a 295" in the article is an outrageously misleading statement. If it is true in *any* sense, theoretical or otherwise.

The focus on the lack of ECC RAM as a major downside is silly in a game context. If you have 200 of these boards running a week long simulation, then ECC RAM is of use. Otherwise, it's just slower RAM. My cluster does;t even use ECC system RAM. If a stray electron should happen to screw something up; we'll run it again. It's never happened to me, ever in my life.

So, I would like to become involved in this. But I *don't* want to become involved in edit wars with video gamers. If I take the time to *properly* research the issues and the data in a verfiable way, and provide citations that come from actual research, not benchmark websites, then I don't want to take extra time to fight with whomever regarding the information on those sites.

All citations are not equal. Peer review trumps. Otherwise, I don't want to help. But on that understanding, I'm prepared to put in the research, which is helpful to both me and wikipedia. Next month I meet with the head of a prominent University supercomputing lab to discuss FERMI, infiniband and for a workshop on Programming such clusters. He may have some ideas on where to look in the literature.
