Orphaned non-free image File:Shujin.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Shujin.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:32, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

February 2017 edit

Hello, I'm Johnny Au. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Toronto, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Please note that the verifiability policy mandates that unsourced material that has been challenged, such as by a "fact" tag, or by its removal, may not be added back without a reliable, published source being cited for the content, using an inline citation. The cited source must clearly support the material as presented in the article, and the burden is on the person wishing to keep in the disputed material. So if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so, following these requirements! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. There's an established consensus not to include "The Six" as a nickname of Toronto. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 12:36, 9 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ludwika Sosnowska moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Ludwika Sosnowska, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Draft:Ludwika Sosnowska edit

Hello Andersao! How are you? I edit as part of WP:WikiProject Women in Red and I came across your draft for Draft:Ludwika Sosnowska - such an interesting page! I've made a few changes and added a few more sources. I hope you can take a look at what I've done and see how your future pages could improve. Here's a list of some of the things I did:

  • References - you only need to list a reference once - so I removed the duplication. If you don't know how to use the same reference more than once - it's in the tab on the right when you press cite.
  • I looked for an image on Wiki Commons and added it - this doesn't usually happen, but it's always worth a look, particularly with historic figures.
  • I used Google Books and Google Scholar to search for more sources. I found quite a few in English (I don't speak Polish - I think if you do you might find quite a few more). As the previous reviewer said, you need to provide three good quality sources.
  • In these new sources I found a reference to Sosnowska featuring as a character in a play, which is a contribution to notability.
  • I also found a nice source on the historiography of her affair - again this is another good contribution to demonstrate notability.

I think it passes GNG (General Notability Guidelines) now, so will see if we can make it live. Thanks for beginning the page - if you have future questions, feel free to message my Talk page, or say Hello at WikiProject Women in Red. Happy future editing!
