NowCommons: File:British Guiana war tax stamp on cover.JPG edit

File:British Guiana war tax stamp on cover.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:British Guiana war tax stamp on cover.JPG. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:British Guiana war tax stamp on cover.JPG]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 14:13, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have reinstated my edits on this page as I think they are more correctly formatted than what was already there. Please don't remove them again before sending me a message to explain why. Thanks. Maidonian (talk) 23:31, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Intros edit

Hi again, it might be useful to you to read WP:LEDE where under the intro section it states: The lead section should briefly summarize the most important points covered in an article in such a way that it can stand on its own as a concise version of the article, so you get a better concept of what an intro should include and if you look at Postage stamps of Ireland, which I mainly wrote and is our only philatelic featured article, you will see what to aspire to. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 15:11, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Postage stamps and postal history of Greece edit

You are doing excellent work on this article. Please continue. Sv1xv (talk) 15:37, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Slowly but surely. You are doing a great job. A few bits of advise; I would try to only use sufficient stamps to match the amount of prose. If there is not enough to say, then you may have too many stamps especially as galleries are not preferred. Because later stamps are copyright, try to finish the prose first, then choose selectively one or two stamps to illustrate those sections but make sure you are able to justify their use with a good fair-use rationale. Otherwise they may be deleted for failing WP:NFCC#3a which concerns minimal use of non-free content. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 22:44, 13 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Just about to go to bed, but I see you are forcing the image sizes again. Guidelines suggest we don't force image sizes per MOS:IMAGES, use thumb and upright only instead but don't put in a px size. I have unforced them once before. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 05:05, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

An image of an Ionian State stamp is available on Commons, if you need one: File:IonianState-Orange.png. Sv1xv (talk) 06:16, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the words of encouragement and the advice, everyone. Amvros (talk) 21:41, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
