Requests for Semi-Protection edit

{{helpme}} OK, this has probably been asked before in many places, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, so I am asking it here (that and so I might have a little reference card to remind me once in a while). Anyway, here goes: Is there any way to request semi-protection for pages that seem to be vandalized repeatedly by Anon IPs? If there is, a link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time! Amazing Steve 03:31, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for asking, that's what we're here for!
First, check the Wikipedia:Rough guide to semi-protection, to make sure it's a suitable candidate.
If it is, go over to WP:RFP and follow the instructions.
If you need more help, please put another {{helpme}} here. Thanks!--  Chzz  ►  03:38, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

P.S. The 'welcome' above doesn't have much detail, so I'll post my version below to give you links for reference.

Right, thanks a bunch, that will most certainly come in handy! And thanks for the help, it was what I was looking for. Amazing Steve 03:44, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. If you have any problems with it, give me a shout. --  Chzz  ►  03:47, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Amazing Steve. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started.

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit on wikipedia, so, if you like, just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, and ignore all rules, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • I suggest that you try to improve a few articles first, before you make your own. Maybe look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.
  • If you need help, please ask! Edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

If you want to know more, there's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of wikipedia!

RC Patrol-related Proposals in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey edit

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
