Denny Hulme

Denny Hulme died while driving, but he wasn't killed. Your edits to his page and the List of racing drivers who died in racing crashes are therefore technically incorrect. HMAS 'Hawkesbury' image

I have reverted the inclusion of Image:HMAS Hawkesbury at Waterhen.jpg from the HMAS Hawkesbury (M 83) article, because the ship depicted is not Hawkesbury. The ship in the image is HMAS Armidale (ACPB 83), lead ship of the Armidale class patrol boats.

Might I suggest you rename the image, remove or update any other inclusions, and add a copy (under the new name) to the Armidale article? -- saberwyn 07:21, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

You're right, my confusion as HMAS Hawkesbury M83 has a home port of HMAS Waterhen where the photo was taken, yet it was HMAS Armidale APCB83 berthed there even though its home base is at Darwin. Ajayvius (talk) 07:37, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

HMAS Darwin

Hi Ajayvius your pic of HMAS Darwin has been copied to Commons and is under the same name (Commons:File:HMAS Darwin at Garden Island.jpg). Nothing changes save the fact that it can now be used by any sister project that needs a pic. John See: party leader?

What's with the rampant tagging of these articles? I suspect you'll find that there's not much support for this category to begin with, but you're tagging people who have patently never even led parties - i.e. Linda Burney, Alan Stockdale, and Chris McDiven, who wasn't even a Liberal MP! They're not really party leaders in any commonly understood usage of the term. They run the organisational wing of the party; they essentially don't have much of a public profile; I can't think of anyone who would consider McDiven to have been "Liberal leader" in any capacity. It's the person who runs the party's administrative wing. The only person who ever gets referred to as "leader" of a party is the parliamentary leader. I doubt you'll find a single sources anywhere referring to someone like McDiven as "Liberal leader". Rebecca (talk) 06:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

In passing, in the ALP the party president is not even leader of the administrative wing - that role belongs to the General Secretary. The President presides over State or National Conferences and has a figurehead role in policy discussions, but is a part-time post only. The General Secretary is a full-time administrative role with responsibility for running the organisation.

The article on Australian Labor Party also makes clear the party leader is the parliamentary leader. Could I therefore add my opinion to those above and suggest you either remove some of your recent additions to the category so that it once again reflects parliamentary leaders only, or if you prefer, seek consensus for broadening the category to include party officials, via discussion somewhere like WT:AUP? It looks like your message was not neutral. You can't say anywhere in the message "keep" or "delete" or tell editors how you will !vote.

Another problem maybe where you got the names from. Where did you get the names from?
