Zaragoza edit

Well sorry for not giving a reason for my deletion. Maybe if you read what I deleted from the article for yourself you'd see that it was because it was bullshit. What I deleted was a distorted re-telling of the Spanish Civil War which had almost nothing to do with Zaragoza itself. Note also the contributor who had written that also vandalized another page. --Achnash (talk) 02:43, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bon dia/Hi, pots ajudar-nos? edit

Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. My name is Claudi Balaguer (User Capsot from the Catalan Wikipedia and the Occitan Wikiccionari), I've just read your profile and it seemed to me that you show a keen interest in diverse cultures and languages and since you live in Catalonia you understand very well what are a minorized language and culture and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm a member of a Catalan association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to that moment. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page and/or signing the link within the template: Wikimedia CAT. Que et/vos vaja tot bé. Et/vos desitge un estiu dolç, agradable i assolellat, cordialment. Greetings edit

Greetings AdeMiami - just saw your revert at Toast (honor). I stand corrected. I had previously reverted (twice, I think) another editor for what I took to be an unnecessary change, so now I'll have to go back and apologise - with "s" :) Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 11:52, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oleguer Presas - Reply edit

Hi there ADE, VASCO from Portugal here,

Yes i see your point, and the article also speaks volumes on his political approach/views. However, as Catalonia is not independent, as neither is the Basque Country and so on and so on, i think it's only logical to say "Spanish footballer", "Spanish naming customs", Oleguer, and those who think like him, are Spanish whether they like it or not - and no i'm not endorsing Salva Ballesta's approach either! The name IS indeed 100% Catalan, but where is the region located?

Second part: the shouting. Yes i should tone down on (some of) my summaries i know, but i'm getting ever so tired of vandals and punks who ruin other people's work. Some - speaking of the geographic "stuff", mostly regarding birthplace - go as far as to remove the words "Catalonia" or akin in the players' articles, even if they are followed by "is a SPANISH footballer"...Pityful, have zero patience for vandals!

All that said, sorry for any incovenience that might have disturbed your contributions, happy weekend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 18:09, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Puig i Cadafalch and other modernisme architects edit

Hi, the Puig i Cadafalch article I have not finished is that I'm also too busy in real life, I study at university and do other activities, I have not finished yet, but if I just started yesterday, and it was too late due that it is poorly translated, but if you look at other articles that have expanded through the translation, you will realize that is quite understandable and you are exaggerating. I hope when you re-enter at another talk page do not forget to sign. --Venerock (talk) 15:43, 26 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I finished that i wanted expand, i invite your review, cheers--Venerock (talk) 05:14, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Spanish Catalan edit

Yes, Spanish Catalan is as strange as using "British Scottish", but so far it serves to find a neutral solution. Honestly, I think it would be better to use "Catalan" alone, because it is more precise, and because Artur Mas is the president of Catalonia. If people keep deleting Catalan, maybe we should block anonymous IP addresses on that article. Let's wait and see.--Jordiferrer (talk) 12:39, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lombardy confusion edit

"Lombards" disappeared as entity and culture from modern Lombardy in the 8th century. That's why it is improper to link to them there. Give a check to Lombard architecture. Also the correct word, from what I know, is "polychrome", not polychromed. --'''Attilios''' (talk) 12:52, 25 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I agree with you... The link I put was not so correct but I didn't find anything better at the moment. What I think you were meaning is Romanico lombardo (since we're speaking about 11th century, when the Lombards were far gone as a culture from Lombardy area), say, "Lombard(y) Romanesque" (meaning: Romanesque architecture in Lombardy), but unfortunately there's no article on it for now. It'd be a nice idea to start it to fill our gap. Perhaps we could fill it with a pipelined link to Romanesque architecture in Italy. What do you think? --'''Attilios''' (talk) 07:34, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
    • Yes, I think the big problem is that the Italian/German "Longobardi"/"Langbeard" is translated in English as "Lombards"... this causing endless confusion with the later Lombard (Italian-speaking) civilization which ensued and was rather unrelated with it, apart from the name of the region... As a curiosity, also Florence or Genoa were "Lombard" cities during their rule, but no one could believe that the two cities in the Middle Ages (at least from the 9th/10th century onwards) has something to share with the Germanic people. As for the article, it'd be a nice idea to collaborate at it next week. Let me know and perhaps I'll start a rough translation which you can help to improve and define, or vice versa. I'm also out at Pistoia for work this week and cannot do much until weekend. Ciao and good work!! --'''Attilios''' (talk) 09:33, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Antoni Gaudí - GA review edit

Hi AdeMiami, I saw that you're the top contributor to the article on Antoni Gaudí. It's been nominated for GA and I'm currently reviewing it. The nominator and I have been polishing it and I am about to pass it after giving it one more copy-edit. I thought you may be interested to participate (the GA review is here), and I encourage you to submit this article for FA once we're done because I think it wouldn't take much to get it on the front page (and Gaudí certainly deserves it!). In fact, Antoni Gaudí is a level 4 vital article topic and architecture and Catalan subjects are both underrepresented on the front page so it would certainly not have long to wait before making it to Today's Featured Article after the FA process. Palau Reial de Pedralbes edit

At Palau Reial de Pedralbes, you wrote "and a s in the shape of a Chinese dragon" . Is there an "s" is visible at the image of that fountain ? If you check this other image, we see what it seems a nozzle with the shape of a chinese dragon. Shall we then use "and a nozzle in the shape of a Chinese dragon"?--Jordiferrer (talk) 10:42, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Support edit

Thankyou for your support on the Spsin talk page. I feel a bit isolated and need to believe I'm not the only one who's keeping an eye out on the history section of the Spain page. It's interesting looking back at its talk page just a few minutes ago to discover that Alex320000 (who I suspect is Cristiano Tomás) has suddenly got his own user page. His wish to get rid of the galleon image and text relating the artistic and intellectual achievements of Spain's golden age are central concerns as I've constantly had to fight off many attempts to impose a totally negative representation of Spanish history. In other words, I need to believe that there are others helping to keep a watch and ready to intervene if necessary in my absence. If you could find others willing to check the history section from time to time, it would be a great help. Anyway, thankyou for your kind words. Cheers. Oleguer Presas i Guíxols edit

  • I reinstated it because it was referenced ("resuelve Oleguer, que pese a contar con sólo 32 años de edad presta sus servicios a un equipo de la regional catalana, el A.D. Guixols." said the newspaper article which i retrieved as ref). However, judging from your conversation above - my Catalan is very very limited but i got the gist of it - it seems it was a hoax. Out of respect for you two, i will revert me now.

Sorry for any inconvenience, keep up the good work - --AL (talk) 23:45, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Catalan culture Challenge edit

Hello! I've seen that you are one of the main editors of the Antoni Gaudí article and I just want to inform you that the article is featured at the the Catalan Culture Challenge, a Wikipedia editing contest in which victory will go to those who start and improve the greatest number of articles about 50 key figures of Catalan culture. It goes from March 16 to April 15. You can take part by creating or expanding articles on these people in your native language (or any other one you speak). It would be lovely to have you on board. :-) Amical Wikimedia --Kippelboy (talk) 07:12, 15 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

File:Tivissa3.jpg needs authorship information edit

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Tivissa3.jpg appears to be missing information as to one (or more) of the following :

  1. The author or creators of the work, (including information as to the author's lifespan).
  2. Where and how this particular version was obtained.
  3. When the work was created,

If you did provide such information, it is currently confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|AdeMiami}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.

Please also add authorship and sourcing to other files you created or uplopaded. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
