Well, Nick has been banned now. I actually knew him before he came to wiki. I met him in one of the groups on orkut. He was trying to advertise Kochi there. I coaxed him into releasing some of the photos of Kochi that he had taken, under a free license, so that I could use them on wikipedia. I got to know Alniko was Nick only after some time of his appearance here. Once on wiki, well, he was asking for a ban. Anyways, all the best with your work on the TVM article. Trivandrum review and another site

Sorry, marannu poyi. I'll do the rest this weekend. The books that Deepu mentioned are Kochirajyacharithram and the article on Kochi in Sarvavijnanakosam. The Sarvavijnankosam that I have access to has only the first eight (out of twenty) volumes and does not have 'tha'. In the link mentioned in User_talk:Deepujoseph/Archive_6#Great_site_for_books, there is a massive four volume History of Kerala. It should contain a lot of good stuff but looking them up can be time consuming. Tintin (talk) 08:54, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Review

• The table at the end of Thiruvananthapuram_district#Geography looks odd. Something should be done about it.
• There should be more references, especially where you have quoted numbers.
• Climate contains some readings in Fahrenheit and some in Celsius. For Indian articles, I think we have to use Celsius throughout.
• The line Nestled in the lap of the Western Ghats, a wild life sanctuary is fastly growing over an area of nearly 777 km². around this reservoir. stands on its own. It is not mentioned what this sanctuary is.
• What are reserved and vested forests ?
• In some places Thiruvananthapuram is used, and Trivandrum in others. I have fixed some but there may be others. When a name is used multiple times, it needs to be linked only on the first occasion.
• The table for 'major agriculture' should use another format. The current one doesn't look too good.
• Tourist centres should be compressed or cut down. This is too long now.

Also take a look at the relevant features articles listed in Wikipedia:Notice board for India-related topics (Chennai, Bangalore, Malwa, Lothal etc) which will give more ideas on how to pattern the article. I am mostly checking only for errors. After modifications and reviews by Malayalis, we should show it to some good editor like Sundar or Rama's Arrow for suggestions and improving the language. Sorry about the confusion, I meant "Inline references". The article has four inline references, that too in the form of external links embedded in the article text. For an article of this size, the typical number of inline reference found are in the range 25–40. The actual count would vary depending on the number of significant claims made in the article. Looks like you have taken care of it, tho I am unsure of the fairuse tag (as they are merely used for decoration in the article, which seems contrary to fairuse guidelines). Deletion of images

Greetings. You asked about my deletion of several images. These images were listed on WP:CP for over a week before being deleted. The admin who deletes the images is not asked to inform the uploader. The person who lists the images for deletion will often inform the uploader (I did not list the images), but this is merely a courtesy, and not a requirement, for copyright violations. The reason is, WP:CP is not a debate forum but a listing to protect Wikipedia from the illegal use of images. If an image is a copyright violation, there is little the uploader can do.

In this case, although fair use was asserted, the use of these images fails our fair use criteria for using images on Wikipedia. Specifically, criterion one requires that it be impossible to create a similar image under a free license. Since anyone could photograph those buildings, there is no need to infringe on someone's copyright to do so. It's best to read WP:FUC carefully before uploading any unfree copyrighted images.
