You've mistakenly added your page to various template categories edit

Hi you've managed to get this whole page listed as a template in the following categories:

Categories: WikiProject user templates
Wikipedia related user templates
Edit user templates
Nation of origin user templates
History user templates
User templates
Computer game user templates
Star Wars user templates
MMORPG user templates

I suspect that isn't what you wanted (as this page is obviously not a template), but it was an oversite when customizing some templates for use on this page. (ie instead of entering yourself into those categories, you've entered yourself as templates for those categories!!) :-) --AGoon 01:23, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm...how did that happen? I am guessing it was stuck somewhere in userbox code. Also, how would i prevent it from happening again? ARBIH 03:43, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Basically you'll need to remove all the tags <noinclude> and </noinclude> and everything between each pair, which was never meant to get included in your page. With most templates you can include them by simply putting the code {{User xyz}} or perhaps {{User:xyz/abc}} eg {{user Garfield}} to include Template:User_Garfield on your page, which will automatically display the right stuff. That also makes for a much easier to edit page (if you want to customize the user-box or it is likely to be moved or renamed or something you may wish to manually copy the codes as you have done, but then you need to edit out those bits). Hope that helps :-) --AGoon 01:36, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok I see it...I will go ahead and get rid of the entire code for all the userboxes, and use the simpler way you provided to re-input the userboxes. Thank you for the heads-up. :) By the way, do you know how to organize userboxes into one solid place? For example, like in a vertical line off to the side? Thanks again...ARBIH 03:49, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I expect there are many methods, one is to put them in a table:
{| class="wikitable"
!a title line if you want one
|-
|{{User Helpful People}}
|-
|{{User Happy People}}
|}

or

{| class="wikitable"
!A multi column table
!Column two title
|-
|{{User Best Editor}}||{{User Great Guy}}
|}

Adrianne Wadewitz Memorial edit-a-thons edit

Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.

If you have any questions, please leave a message at Kevin Rutherford's talk page. You can unsubscribe from future notifications for Boston-area events by removing your name from this list.
