April 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Irene Cara, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. GcSwRhIc (talk) 14:38, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Irene Cara. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. GcSwRhIc (talk) 04:29, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why does the article read like a fan page. I understand you (administrator) may be a fan of Irene Cara (I like her too) but obviously you understand this is not a fan page. Everything in the article reads that way -Everything. It is widely known that Cara became addicted to drugs during the 80s, and for you to constantly remove this whenever it is added to the article is deplorable. A short paragraph of 3-5 sentences touching on this is being removed by you. Other artists have their drug usage mentioned in their articles, what makes Cara so special? There is even a line in the article that states she had a pilot air on NBC in 1981 called "Irene" and even though it had good reviews the network didn't pick it up for the fall season. Now, there is no proof it received good reviews because there is no link to verify this; in fact it had a few negative reviews if I recall correctly. So I changed that to "somewhat good reviews" and that it wasn't picked up due to low ratings, which is true. You changed it back to "good reviews" (dropping the "somewhat", gain with no link to prove this) and you dropped off it wasn't picked up due to low ratings. Well it a network runs a pilot and decides not to air the show for the new season, that's obviously due to the low ratings. Come on. This is not a fan page. Irene Cara (as much as I like her) has not done everything perfect in her career, so stop acting like she has.

  • Please do not remove sourced information from the article. If you have a source that disagrees, consider adding the the source, and the disputed information. Please use edit summaries. Consider discussing on the talk page.Shajure (talk) 04:24, 23 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. One more thing is that you are an unregistered user on Wikipedia. I'd recommend you create an account (which is free and requires no personal information), because there are more benefits for you as a registered user and that your IP address (216.251.112.134) will be concealed.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. You can start off learning about contributing to this encyclopedia by reading the Introduction. If you have a question about Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:Questions or feel free to ask me a question on my talk page. If you would like to be a great and helpful contributor to this encyclopedia, there are a lot of tasks to help out to this encyclopedia here, or clean backlogs, and you will be a helpful editor. Edits to Reno, Nevada edit

FYI, Thanks to your contributions to the Reno, Nevada article. I agree with most, and think you've left the article in better shape than you found it. I did however, undo the addition of the list of Nevada cities bigger than Reno. I did this for 2 reasons, 1- it's a tangential detail and 2- this was in the article before and caused some minor edit warring. For many years, it was debatable which cities were bigger than Reno and which weren't (depending on which mid-census estimates were cited as figures). IMO, "biggest outside of the Las Vegas Metro" gets the point across, without leaving debatable estimates in the article, and not going of into tangents.
