Template fields, edit

Listen, I understand what you are doing and why you are doing it, but you need to understand that only {{Infobox Dotcom company}} has the field for alexa website ranking, and that {{Infobox_Company}} does not. Adding the field you have been adding to instances of Infobox Company does nothing, as the template itself does not have the field.

Templates are parts of other pages, or complete other pages Transcluded into another page. In order to make a field for a template, the template's base page is edited to include the text {{{field name}}} or {{{field name|}}} or {{{1}}} or {{{1|}}}. In the case of the first two fields, field name is the name of the field(in the case of Infobox Dotcom company, it would be {{{alexa}}} or {{{alexa|}}}). In regards to both the named field, and the field using 1 as a name, a pipe(|) can be used to make a field blank, so that it won't be used as if it was filled out when in use(I hope this makes sense). In the case of the second two fields, the 1 fields, these can be used without a field name, in that, if the template is used on a page, say {{template}}, then, if a pipe is supplied in the template, as {{template|}}, then, anything after the pipe will be accepted as the information for field 1. The same applies to subsequent fields, say, if you put {{{1}}} {{{2}}} and {{{3}}}, they would subsequently be used on the page the template is being transcluded to as {{template|one field|another field|last field}}.

I hope this has cleared up things for you, and why the field alexa can't be used on Infobox Company instances.— dαlus Contribs 21:36, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dead Rising edit

Hi. I've just reverted your addition to the three Dead Rising games. For a start, templates actually go on other pages and are transcluded to the pages they need to go on. Secondly, as there are only three games in the series, that are very clearly linked to in each article, there is no point in having a template like that. Compare to this template, which contains thirty links. Thanks for thinking of them, but until, say, a couple of books and a movie come out, there isn't any point in a template. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 12:03, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've just found the actual template you made. What you needed to do was use this coding at the bottom: {{Template:Dead Rising}} I've now submitted the template for deletion. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 12:04, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:Dead Rising edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Dead Rising requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Orphaned non-free image File:Lockerzlogo.gif edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lockerzlogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 05:54, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rock band 3 edit

A tag has been placed on Rock band 3 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 08:22, 31 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:Super Monkey Ball Step and Roll.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Super Monkey Ball Step and Roll.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Proposed deletion of Rock band 3 edit

The article Rock band 3 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No significant encyclopedic content; subject fails WP:CRYSTAL.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 19:52, 31 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:WIAA.PNG edit

Thank you for uploading File:WIAA.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Because you used a fair use rationale with your upload, the recommended copyright tag is {{non-free logo}}. Please add this to the image and remove the speedy delete template ({{di-no license}}).

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

Rhode Island Interscholastic League edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Rhode Island Interscholastic League, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://riil.org/about/index.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:50, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rhode Island Interscholastic League edit

A tag has been placed on Rhode Island Interscholastic League requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Wisconsin Little Ten Conference Logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Wisconsin Little Ten Conference Logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 01:04, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ngame.tv edit

A tag has been placed on Ngame.tv requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Dmol (talk) 23:15, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Heart O'North Conference edit

Hello 1wolfblake,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Heart O'North Conference for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Fevrret (talk) 01:26, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Heart O'North Conference edit

The article Heart O'North Conference has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources, no indication of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
