Al Burton is an American Producer, Composer, Writer. He was born in Chicago, but grew up on the road due to his fathers work. As an Award winning Executive Producer he's created, supervised, and produced numerous iconic television shows such as (just to mention a few) Win Ben Stein's Money, Charles in Charge, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Different Strokes, Facts of Life, and The Jefferson's. Burton (being an accomplished composer and lyricist) has also written and composed many of the most memorable 1970's & 80's sitcom themes in television history.[1] He's won the Daytime Emmy 5-times for Win Ben Stein's Money, and twice received the Youth in Film Award. Al Burton has truly changed the very fabric of television itself thus launching the careers of numerous stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, (The New Lassie) Meg Ryan, (Charles in Charge) Pamela Anderson, (Charles in Charge) Molly Ringwald, (The Facts of Life) Christina Applegate, (Charles in Charge) and many more. Burton, being the founder & President of Al Burton Productions, has held the title of Vice-President for (just to name a few) Universal Television, Castle Rock Entertainment, and was the head of Production for Embassy Television (1982-1983.)
