About Me: edit

Hello. I'm Rourensu. My home has been Southern California for most of my life. The rest of the time has been spent in Japan. I'm currently an ESL teacher and work for Los Angeles County as a Japanese proofreader. I am starting a Masters program in Linguistics at Cal State Fullerton. Hopefully that'll lead to a PhD.

I technically created my Wikipedia account in 2015, but I only made one minor edit. Starting in 2020, I would like to use my passion for learning, research, education, and scholarship to more seriously and consistently contribute to Wikipedia and become part of the community that's helping the world. I've read and relied on countless Wikipedia articles, so it's only fitting that I help make it an invaluable resource to others as well. My native language is English, and I have advanced proficiency in Japanese and basic German.

Interests: edit

My main fields of interest are within the Humanities: Art, History, Literature, Language, and Linguistics.

Japanese has been my primary focus for nearly a decade, but my interest in Japan has been with me in some way or another since before elementary school.

Watchlist: edit

I'm currently focused on WikiProject Japan-related articles. Primarily finding sources, but also writing for smaller articles.
