Deletion edit

The article had been tagged by another editor as failing the notability guidelines. Although I have seen worse (you had one reference), basically we know only one thing about him, and usually one fact isn't enough to establish notability. We don't know his nationality (although the context suggests he may be American), date of birth (or death if he isn't still living), what his role in the development was, what his academic or technical background was... nothing really. We have one sentence giving one vague fact. If that's all there is, he's not notable. If you can beef up the article to make a proper entry with more refs, that would be great. Deleted text follows. Clifford Witcher was a blind electrical engineer at the Research Laboratory of Electronics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is noted for his role in developing the electronic eye.[1]

Maidashi ryokuchi is proposed deletion, but I think it is to leave over. The reason is that the park is not famous, but it has substantial implication for the Fukuoka's modern history. translation help for National Archives edit

You may have heard of me, Im User:Thelmadatter an English teacher in Mexico. I have been working on a couple of WP related things at my school and I have yet a new project. The high school side of my campus has an International Baccalaureate and students in that have to do a project each semester. IB is very interested in having students work with Wikipedia. I see you need translation work for the National Archives and Im wondering if you would be interested in setting something up between us to have these students work on translating from English to Spanish. We would have to do a fair amount of structuring as they are younger and with zero experience, but it can mean a large number of man/hours towards the project. For the students, its a chance to collaborate with a foreign institution.

Please be a little more careful with your new articles--you certainly have enough experience to do them well when you take the trouble. Supportive selling environment was missing the really essential link--perhaps because the word was mis-spelled, and could certainly have used a wider array of sources.

For Wincenty Aksamitowski you translated the first sentence only. This is not really considered good practice now, so i filled the military career in a little fro the French article & the Google translation of the Polish--please check that I got it right & did not misinterpret.

For Clare Melford you used only primary sources--which is not consider acceptable for a bio of a living person. I quickly found 2 third party sources for the early part of her career--had I not been able to do so, I would have had to list it for WP:BLP PROD

Open Education Practices also has no third party sources. I've marked it for a merge to Open Educational Resources--it seems very closely related.

You are working mainly in a subject area that is much neglected at Wikipedia-- this gives you a special obligation to be accurate and complete, because few other editors here will work on the articles. We need these areas, and we need them done right. DGG ( talk ) 00:12, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
