My Father Robert Willis Gates (Rusty) worked at Stanford Research Institute and worked for Dr. Thomas Poulter for many years. I remember visiting Dr. Poulter at the Bio Sonar Lab he founded when I was a child. He was a great man.
I am a Ni Dan (2nd degree black belt) in Aikido and I have studied with Frank Doran (aikido), Linda Holiday, Hikizuchi, Danielle Smith and many other great Aikidoka. I studied with Mathew Thomas when he was first creating Model Mugging, and was the first woman to teach from inside the padded suit. I have also served on the board of directors for KIDPOWER.
