For inline citations using parenthetical referencing—especially Harvard citation documentation—use the shortened footnote (sfn) in the main body of the text, as in:

The path to a featured article

• 1. Start a new article

Image submission

• 1. Ensure the image meets all of the featured picture criteria:
  • Good contrast, accurate exposure, neutral color balance, in focus, good composition, appropriate aspect ratio, no highly distracting or obstructing elements.
  • Sufficiently high resolution. After cropping, an image must be a minimum of 1500 pixels along its shortest edge to be considered as a featured picture. Further information on image size can be found here.
  • Examples of common technical problems can be found here. Examples of featured picture subject matter can be found here.
• 2. Upload image file at Wikimedia Upload Wizard. Remember to add appropriate file name, description, license, and categories.
