  • Is it a problem that the author of the article is also its subject? Ericoides (talk) 09:18, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
  • Hello. Thanks to Ericoides I am now better informed. I'm listed as a connected contributor. Does this preclude a DYK? If so, I'm happy to delete the nomination.Dwab3 (talk) 14:53, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
  • I don't think its a problem as long as you're using legitimate third party sources other than your personal writings. -- Esemono (talk) 13:08, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
  • You can't add a copyright free picture of yourself? -- Esemono (talk) 13:55, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Have added a copyright-free picture, as suggested by Esemono. Will try to work out how to modify the hook to reference this. Dwab3 (talk) 10:11, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Added ALT info for the image -- Esemono (talk) 03:53, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
  • The last paragraph has some naked links that need to be taken care of. -- Esemono (talk) 13:08, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
  • I think all the bare links have now been dealt with. Dwab3 (talk) 15:27, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Second look needed: Hook is sourced, article is over 1500 characters and time frame is OK-- Esemono 15:35, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
  • At fear of sounding unappreciative of the subject's work as a book author (which indeed sounds intriguing) and editor here, I'm not sure that the article meets WP:AUTHOR. (The Reluctant Tommy is currently a redirect, and how is it judged that it's a significant or well-known work), per criteria 3? What am I missing? -- Trevj (talk) 10:15, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
  • This is interesting - hadn't seen those guidelines before. However, criteria 3 refers to 'multiple independent periodical articles or reviews' and the Ronald Skirth page references five independent articles / reviews of The Relucant Tommy in national newspapers. Is that good enough? Dwab3
  • Hi Duncan, I think the article would be a little better if you add a date of birth, with ref if you have one. Can you add a graduation date/college, presumably this will be searchable online. Thanks. Chienlit (talk) 10:53, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Have added birth and alumnar refs where I could find them online. Hope this is helpful. Dwab3 (talk) 15:43, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Birth and alum added to article, notability of book established in the book's article:The Reluctant Tommy as well in these 'multiple independent periodical articles or reviews' Financial Times [1], Dailymail [2], Sunday Express [3], Telegraph [4]
I think the issue I raised above has now been addressed. Good stuff! -- Trevj (talk) 06:31, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Hook is sourced, article is over 1500 characters and time frame is OK. Looks like notability has been established. Second look? -- Esemono (talk) 03:44, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Seems good to go. Self-articles are discouraged but not forbidden, and this article does not seem to have any of the actual problems associated with such articles (it is not written in a promotional or self-praising tone, for example), so there shouldn't be any problem.
