Swift promoted her self-titled debut album in 2006–2008 by touring as an opening act for the country musicians Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Brad Paisley, and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. In spring 2009, she promoted her second studio album, Fearless (2008), by headlining various US festivals and a promotional tour in Australia[1] before embarking on her first headlining concert tour, the Fearless Tour (2009–2010).[2] It visited six countries and grossed over $66 million from 118 shows.[3] The Speak Now World Tour, which supported Swift's third studio album Speak Now (2010), followed in 2011–2012, covering 110 shows and visiting 18 territories across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.[3] It was the highest-grossing tour by a female artist and by a solo artist of 2011[4] and grossed over $123 million in total.[3]
The Red Tour (2013–14), which supported Red (2012), became the highest-grossing country tour after its completion with $150 million grossed from 86 shows in 12 countries.[5] It was her last headlining tour as a country artist.[6] The 1989 World Tour (2015), which supported 1989 (2014), encompassed 85 dates in 11 countries and was the highest-grossing tour of 2015 with $250 million.[3][7] Its North American shows grossed $199.4 million and surpassed the Rolling Stones' 2005 record.[8] This record was broken by Swift's 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour, which supported Reputation (2017)—its North American leg grossed $202.3 million and set the record for the highest-grossing North American tour of all time.[9]
Since March 2023, Swift has embarked on her ongoing concert tour, the Eras Tour, which will have covered 152 dates upon its conclusion in December 2024.[10] It is the first concert tour in history to surpass $1 billion in box score revenue.[11]
