Question edit

How can anything be cited from the "Where Have You Been" release notes when "Where Have You Been" hasn't been released? | helpdןǝɥ | 23:44, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

The album individual song credits? Duhhh. Calvin Watch n' Learn 23:59, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't work like that. It has to be a work that was actually released. Why do you think that template has the option to add release catalog numbers? | helpdןǝɥ | 20:22, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Calvin Harris image edit

Don't you think that caption is a little big for the section it is in? | helpdןǝɥ | 20:22, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nope. I can't help the size of the section of the length of the caption. Calvin Watch n' Learn 20:25, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, you could remove some of the information and put it in the section. There is no justification for a caption that big. | helpdןǝɥ | 20:34, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
It is the in the section, I'm giving a reason in the caption as to why a picture is warranted. The caption only looks big because the picture is small and it is a square, you wouldn't notice it if the picture was bigger and rectangular, as the caption would be more spread out. I see no problem with it. Calvin Watch n' Learn 20:37, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well if that's the case, I still don't think you've explained that pictures inclusion. | helpdןǝɥ | 20:40, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
What is there to not understand? The picture of Harris is there because the co-wrote and co-produced both songs, and lots critics noted how similar they are. Calvin Watch n' Learn 20:42, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
How does this image add to the understanding of that section? | helpdןǝɥ | 20:43, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's Calvin Harris. He wrote it. He produced it. Critics noted how the two songs are basically the same. Calvin Watch n' Learn 20:48, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't see it, but we'll see what happens as the article grows. | helpdןǝɥ | 20:50, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't see what you don't see. Calvin Watch n' Learn 20:51, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's waaaay to big. It could easily be shortened to something like ""Where Have You Been" was produced by Calvin Harris (pictured) and received multiple comparisons to "We Found Love", another production of his." Pancake (talk) 21:21, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Where Have You Been isn't a single edit

I know that Rihanna is shoting a video for Where Have You Been, but it isn't a single --82.48.161.65 (talk) 19:08, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I think the problem has been solved now with the radio release on radio1, which makes "Where have you been" INDEED a single. I knew it would be a single in the first place because a new single is due and since no video were shoot for "Talk that talk" and "Birthday cake", of course "Where have you been" must have been the next single because there are still countries were a music video is essentiel for chart success. But of course it was always removed when I marked it as a "single" because some people just can't get that rules can't be applied in every single case. --VSfan88 (talk) 04:13, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Where is the source that the video was supposed to premiere on April 25? Well, it didn't. Someone should erase that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.224.151.64 (talk) 11:13, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Where have you been, debute isn't until May 8th. edit

Why is it saying the video debuted at 65 when it hasn't yet(officially). This needs to be changed --Braina90 (talk) 20:58, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

What? Aaron You Da One 20:58, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
That's not the video, rather the song. It debuted due the strong digital downloads of Talk That Talk. — Tomica (talk) 21:14, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Where Have You Been Hot 100 advance edit

Rihanna, meanwhile, roars 78-29 on the Hot 100 with the chart's top Digital Gainer, "Where Have You Been." The track re-enters Digital Songs at No. 26 (59,000, up 232%) after she performed it on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" May 5. On Radio Songs, it darts 64-36 (31 million, up 75%). Genres edit

Does techno really need to be listed in the infobox? Besides, the source says "more of a techno dance song". Either way, I think the most prominently sourced genres, Dance-pop and house, should be listed in the infobox, and there shouldn't be more than two genres in the infobox. Nicholas (talk) 19:06, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

The way I see it, it really has more an electro-house sound to it imo, but since there aren't any sources for it yet, techno gives a good representation of the feel of it. 3 is generally okay as that is with most articles, but 4 is where it really starts to cross the line unless there is a valid reason.--(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 16:27, 16 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chart section clean up? edit

I edited the chart performance section a few weeks ago fixing wrong tenses and cut down the extreme bulk of it but it seems to have been reverted, I do not know why. Anyway, I really suggest this section needs to be seriously cleaned up. There is too much information in it, specifically the North America section. There doesn't need to be so much information of the upward movement of the song on every single Billboard chart. Like I said, I had edited it down and am quite annoyed it was reverted. Iluvrihanna24 (talk) 14:18, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Because it is fine as it is. The song broke several records and tied Rihanna with other artists. It was a very successful song, therefore there is a lot information. AARONTALK 16:26, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

First-day video hits edit

The article and the accompanying reference (Digital Spy, which is actually a good source) assert that 4.93 million views was record-breaking, when reliable sources largely supported that the video for "Love the Way You Lie" had held that record for quite some time, with 6.6 million views. Comparing search results for "Love the Way You Lie"'s first-day hits and those of "Where Have You Been" shows that more reliable sources cover the former. 4.93 million views is an impressive feat, but not record-breaking, AFAIK. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 00:20, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
