You don't think that the rivers merit a mention in an article about transportation in St. Louis? It's the 3rd-largest inland port by tonnage in the country.[1] Or is this article soley about ways to haul your butt around? --Kbh3^rd talk 01:50, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Transportation in Greater St. Louis into Transportation in St. Louis edit

User:Lightmetro has suggested that Transportation in St. Louis and Transportation in Greater St. Louis be merged into a single article. I concur. Although most major metropolitan areas have separate articles, St. Louis is rather unique in that its central city is comparatively small in geographic size compared to its metro area. In light of this it seems best to deal with the topic in one place per WP:OVERLAP. User:Lightmetro, who seems to be something of an expert in St. Louis transport has already worked on updating and merging content. I will be bold and perform a redirect and related category work in a week or so if there are no objections. Grey Wanderer (talk) 03:35, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Grey. I think most of the information is pretty much up to date. If I come across anything else, I'll add it. Would it make sense to just rename the Transportation in St. Louis thread to Transportation in Greater St. Louis for continuity after removing the current one? Transportation Pages edit

Hi all. I've been going through and making edits to various transportation pages that are woefully outdated. I spoke with Grey Wanderer and we both agreed that having separate pages for the city and metropolitan area was a bit redundant considering the city only accounts for 10% of the region and nearly all of its major routes extend further into the metropolitan area.

I've already migrated all the information from the Transportation in Greater St. Louis page to the Transportation in St. Louis page. Gary will remove the Greater St. Louis page as I'm not sure how to do it.

I've also updated all of the MetroLink station pages and added updated information regarding expansions plans on the main page. Lightmetro (talk) 23:35, 22 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
