Hi, I'll review this article. FunkMonk (talk) 23:01, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Is it possible to update the image with a more high res version?
  • The image page could need a better description template.
  • " In line with Müller's advice, Jovanović avoids creating a sentimental work" It seems a bit odd that the tense changes to present for much of the rest of the article, after being past tense in the background section.
  • "are reminiscent of images of the lamentation over the body of Christ." You could link Lamentation of Christ.
  • Perhaps mention if the artist made similar works later? If so, they could perhaps be shown?
  • No known preparatory sketches or alternate versions?
  • Since the article title is English, I'd assume that version should be shown first, with the Serbian title in parenthesis, if that is the common English name.
  • The intro seems a bit short. A couple more lines could maybe be good to beef it up, perhaps more summarising of background.
  • Perhaps a photo of the painter under background?
  • Was the painting influential in any way?
Thanks for taking the time, FunkMonk. Will address your comments tomorrow. 23 editor (talk) 19:56, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
You there, 23 editor? FunkMonk (talk) 18:57, 10 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yes, just busy in real life. I've addressed some of your points and am in the middle of addressing the rest. 23 editor (talk) 01:23, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ok, just notify me when you're done, 23 editor. I will review your other article when this one is going somewhere. FunkMonk (talk) 14:51, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
All done, I think. I haven't been able to find any sketches online or sources suggesting other versions. Was the painting influential? Depends what you mean. It secured the artist a contract with an important art gallery and is considered one of his best orientalist works. I wouldn't say it had a palpable impact on contemporary artists (especially Western ones), nor can I find any sources to that effect. 23 editor (talk) 01:46, 19 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Looks good to me now, so will pass. Happy you could find a larger version of the image (I couldn't when I looked). FunkMonk (talk) 14:36, 19 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
