Talk:The Secret Series

Delete a para because of insufficient evidence? edit

I don't think there's sufficient evidence for this paragraph in the 'Characters' section:

The author explains that in the series, none of the characters are called by their real in-universe names, supposedly to ensure that the Midnight Sun does not learn them. However, many of the names used for the characters become relevant to the plot in the later books, potentially suggesting that the names used were the actual in-universe names of the characters.

Sure, the name 'Cassandra' is indicative of some aspects of her character. However, from an in-universe perspective, that doesn't mean that it wasn't fake - a fake name can certainly be chosen for its relevance to character.

I'm deleting the paragraph and I'll link to this discussion in the edit summary. If I've missed something, please revert the edit and reply to my message here! Epic style editor (very cool) (talk) 13:32, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Do we really need a section for *every* character? edit

Judging by eg. Harry Potter (which is marked as a Good Article), I think just the protagonists and the major side characters should be enough for the article, and the current state of listing essentially all of them - often with less-than-perfect descriptions - is not ideal. I will thus be bold and prune the massive list down, and I'm putting this on the talk page so if there's any disagreement, we can discuss it with ease.
