Connection to Gogol? edit
Does anyone know if this painting has any connection to Nikolai Gogol's short story "The Portrait"? The short story revolves around an incomplete portrait with unusually lifelike eyes. This is just speculation, but I was wondering if there exist any sources that comment on this possible connection. Augurar (talk) 07:21, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
