Bernard Slade edit
I changed the reference to Bernard Slade from "created by" to "developed by." The principal characters and situations of "The Flying Nun" were created by Tere Rios in her novel "The Fifteenth Pelican," so calling Slade the series' "creator" is inappropriate.

The Reverend Mother edit
In "The Fifteenth Pelican" the abbess of San Tanco is called "Sister Placido." This is the character that on television is called "The Reverend Mother." I recall that in one episode, she was called "Reverend Mother Placido."
How did the series end? edit
The main article could be improved by telling us what happened at the end of the series. Did the Flying Nun end up in jail, or thrown out of the convent? 216.99.201.66 (talk) 20:15, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- According to imdb.com, the last episode, "No Tears for Mrs. Thomas" is about one of the minor characters getting married after he mistakenly believes he's about to die. There doesn't seem to have been any special episode made for the end. 169.199.121.4 (talk) 19:13, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Episodes without Sally (Sister Bertrille)? edit
According to imdb.com, there were 82 episodes altogether, of which Sally Field appeared in 78. What were the four episodes without her? Did somebody else fly in Sally's (Bertrille's) place? 169.199.121.4 (talk) 19:17, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Somebody actually did fly in Sally Field's place when the series was coming to an end. Her Stunt Double did the flying scenes when Sally Field was pregnant with her first child as Sally doing the flying scenes during her pregnancy would have jepordized her son's safety. The opening theme for "The Flying Nun" Who Needs Wings to Fly Music. Sally Field's version of "Who Needs Wings to Fly" didn't play until the end of each episode. For proof y'all can go to YouTube. - I'm not sure IMDb is correct on the episode count. A lot of their cast listings for older TV shows are missing regular cast members. Those were not the names of the theme song either, it was merely "Who Needs Wings to Fly?" Sally Field's sung version is only heard, I believe, at the end of one episode ("The Fatal Hibiscus"), but as part of the episode, not during the credits. Mupept (talk) 01:35, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
