Falsified Cancelation reports edit

Rumors still abound that the show has been canceled and replaced by "Avengers Assemble" but the cited article on this wiki 'Marveltvnews' has been outed as a fake report. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nissanguy24 (talkcontribs) 01:11, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Do you have a supporting link for that? because I can't find anything to support that claim. 50.140.162.153 (talk) 13:14, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Plot and Cast edit

Do we really need to list the characters in the Plot section and then repeat it in the Cast section? It seems to me that just the Cast section should suffice.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:07, 27 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

-5- (In case you've didn't read your talk) edit

I have not done any vandalism (not prove you wrong). I have changed some the full episodes because on http://teletoon.com/teletoon3/teletoon.php?language=En&func=php%7Ctemplates/tvSchedule.php%7C0&xVar=0 it says. (I should of put references, sorry.)And the micro episodes because when I check on websites (YouTube & Marvel.com) they have not been uploaded yet, and are uploaded usually the next day. I could be wrong, but I have not tried to do any vandalism. Please comment me back. (List of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes)

Cast and Characters edit

We do not need separate sections for this either. Please see WP:MOSTV. --TriiipleThreat (talk) 17:18, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Examples:

I combined the two -Fandraltastic (talk) 19:22, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Much better. I would also point out that not every character needs to be listed but with the series being so new its hard to distinguish who is notable or not at this point.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:41, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, it does seem to be getting long. Maybe it should be split off into its own "List of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes characters" article, with only the principals listed on this page. -Fandraltastic (talk) 21:04, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
That would work but I not sure such an article would meet notability guidelines just yet.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:15, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have to disagree with this. In the event that other characters will be added, we will have to start a character page for this show detailing who appears in this show. Rtkat3 (talk) 9:42, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
I am not saying that a characters article will never be notable just that it might not be notable right now. Notability I think will come with time as show progresses and more coverage is added. That said, I am not a member of WP:TV and not well versed in their guidelines and practices. You might want to ask for advice on the project talk page.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:13, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I am not really into editing Wikipedia, but I thought it should be known that the terrorist organization is named "Hydra" not "HYDRA". It's not an acronym, and it shouldn't be in all-caps. The main Wikipedia page for Hydra has yet to get a citation for all-caps to be "Marvel's official spelling", and even Marvel's own Wiki uses the standard "Hydra" spelling, so I don't know where the Wikipedia editors got it in their heads that it's supposed to be "HYDRA". http://marvel.com/universe/Hydra —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.243.195.121 (talk) 03:50, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just wanted to let everyone here know that I've created a sandbox for List of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes characters to shape and mold the article until it beoomes ready to be moved to the mainspace. Anyone who wishes to contribute to it and help add real world context is welcome to. -Fandraltastic (talk) 20:15, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wonder Man edit

We all know that Wonder Man is a member of the Avengers in comics but in last night's episode "Everything is Wonderful" he was clearly a villain. Labeling him as a supporting character (right now) seems to be incorrect or WP:OR at the very least.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:41, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Changed it.-5- (talk) 18:11, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
As a special note he didn't start as a hero when he became Wonder Man in the comic either. Ztyran (talk) 03:56, 27 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Masters of Evil edit

Was this name actually used?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:46, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not on the show yet but it's referred to directly both in the reference link attached to Zemo and in the most recent liveblog on Marvel.com with the show's producers. -Fandraltastic (talk) 20:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Team Originally consisted of... edit

Captain America wasn't a starting member of the team in the comics or in this animated series. I'm changing that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.3.177.193 (talk) 22:12, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cast vs. Characters edit

I tried to clean up the article by removing character list and adding the cast box in order to maintain a real-world perspective over in-universe perspective as guideline dictates. The former character section was not only repetitive (we already have a separate article on the subject) but was breeding ground for POV edits. This approach has been utilized across Wikipedia on many articles about animated television shows including The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad! and The Cleveland Show.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 11:10, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

And even MORE articles, such as Batman: The Animated Series, Tiny Toons Adventures, Animaniacs, Justice League (TV series), The Spectacular Spider-Man (TV series), Wolverine and the X-Men, Phineas and Ferb, etc. DON'T use that format. Heck, even most MOVIE pages, which are almost entirely cast-driven nowadays, don't use that format. If anything, the four you listed are the exception, not the norm, especially given the fact that some, like The Simpsons, actually have ENTIRE ARTICLES related to their cast alone, as opposed to the Avengers where the cast isn't as as prominent a part of the show's production (Eric Loomis doesn't even have his own page for goodness' sake, and he's playing what is debatably the primary character). Furthermore, the information on the Characters page basically adds up to "This guy first showed up in this episode voiced by this other guy." Almost no information about the role that the character plays WITHIN the show, which is kind of important considering they're the driving force of the show itself, is featured. In contrast, the descriptions you deleted were concise and not overly in-universey, giving the very basic details without delving too heavily into fancruft or providing super-extensive analyses/details that would be better served as part of the character's main article. Not to mention that every one of the pages you listed has a character section on the main article, AND basic information about the character's role within the show on the character page itself, so if anything, getting rid of them goes AGAINST precedent. Quite frankly, the characters section was just fine as it was, and there's no reason to change it. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 18:52, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
The list was simply plot only descriptions with solely primary references and no real-world perspective. The characters themselves are essentially the same as their comic-book counterparts; Iron Man is Iron Man, Thor is Thor, etc. If you wish to re-add the section in prose in short form paragraphs as in some of examples we both listed be my guest but be sure to include third party references.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:26, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Technically, the characters are based off of the comics but not exactly the same as the ones in the comics. We either need to add a section covering the characters to this page, or add a new section to the actual characters page describing the how the characters are in the show. Example: In the show, Wasp and Ant-Man's love is blossoming. In the comics, Wasp died after divorcing Ant-Man. See the difference??

Not arc based and no third season edit

Should it be added that Jeph Loeb is now in charge of AEMH, and as a result, season 2 will be the last season and the episodes will be entirely self-contained so there will be no overarching plotline? 72.64.82.175 (talk) 03:22, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Given the overarching Skrull invasion plotline in season 2 so far, that doesn't seem accurate. 24.214.230.66 (talk) 08:50, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 23:43, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Request move edit

Am I the only one who can see that there's an exclaimation in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!? It seems that way... -- Anythingspossibleforapossible (talk) 15:36, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Can I get a response please? -- Anythingspossibleforapossible (talk) 13:20, 18 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

That's the way the logo is stylized and may well be the "official" title, but the majority of reliable sources refer to it without the exclamation point. See WP:OFFICIALNAME and WP:COMMONNAME. -Fandraltastic (talk) 16:32, 18 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

That may be true, but maybe it would help if more people paid attention to the full title; exclaimation marks and all. People don't forget the colon so it would be nice if they remembered the exclaimation mark too. -- Anythingspossibleforapossible (talk) 15:41, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Bloated intro edit

So we've got a small edit war going on over the intro, which one editor wants to have contain codenames, alternate codenames, full real names including middle names and nicknames, and bold text, and which two or three other editors think is better to just have the codenames that the characters are far more widely known by. The claim is that this overlong intro is to somehow RELIEVE the confusion of the unitiated reader, where I contest that it only does the OPPOSITE by bloating the intro. If we write that the show features "Iron Man, Hulk, Giant-Man and Wasp", it's far more readable and less overloaded to write "Iron Man (Anthony "Tony" Stark), Hulk (Robert Bruce Banner), Giant-Man/Ant-Man (Henry "Hank" Pym) and the Wasp (Janet "Jan" Van Dyne)" (I frankly refuse to dignify the idiotic "Thor (Thor Odinson)" with acknowledgement). If you need to know a full real name of a character, the link to the article is right there. It's absolutely not needed for the intro to this cartoon. - Chris McFeely (talk) 18:46, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree with all of this, we should strive for brevity in the lead where possible and listing multiple names for every character is overkill. I also removed the bit about Spider-Man, as that's not really a piece of information that's relevant to the overall series. -Fandraltastic (talk) 19:31, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reception edit

The critical reception section is awful. It uses web polls from sites such as IMDB and TV.com that are voted by users, web polls are no indication people have even watched the show. I resisted the urge to delete the entire unreliable section.

I didn't delete it (it is just barely better than nothing) but anyone who has time to work on the section probably should. Lists of figures are a bit dull and boring, proper TV audience ratings would be proper reliable sources. Actual reviews from critics would be good too if you can find them. -- 109.79.135.199 (talk) 23:52, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
